So Handy
It’s so handy to be able to control and monitor my printer from anywhere. I love showing my family my printer and prints from hundreds of miles away. Would absolutely recommend to anyone with a printer. Required minimal knowledge and expertise to get set up
Ne fonctionne pas
Nul, se connecte sur mon serveur mainsail os mais l’écran est surdimensionné, les bouton se trouve surposé a l’heure et la batterie sur mon iPhone 8 aucun retour possible et l’écran reste noir… Bref complètement dysfonctionnel…
Needs work
I would like to say that yes even tough with trial version never had good video frame rate But the worst are the cancel button that if you accidentally touch and cancel a print in the middle after waithing 2 days of printing near completed and all ruined because the cancel button did not ask to verify .

...Hat aber deutliche Schwächen: - ca 25% der Spaghetti-Prints wurden bisher als "alles okay" durchgewunken - benutzt man "layermacro" für die Klipper-Timelapse, zeichnet Obico nach jedem Layer brav eine Pause ein. Damit werden Logs unlesbar. - hält Obico einen Druck wegen Spaghettiverdacht an, sind die Screenshots sehr klein, man kann kaum was erkennen - auf dem iPad nur im Hochformat bedienbar. Welch ein Geniestreich! Alles in allem ist die App so unkomfortabel, dass ich bei Mobileraker bleibe und praktisch nur die Serverkomponente nutze.
App screen keeps going blank grey
As title suggests, after a few minutes the app just goes to a blank grey screen while within the slicer, rendering the app unusable

It good for watch your work in the Printer but you can't give her order to print
Requires local server (not octoprint) to work.
What is this? App reports that it supports octopi but requires an obico server on the network or a cloud account? No thanks.
Impressed
This is a very nicely made app. The AI spaghetti detective is nice. I understand it that the free mode is free but i think there should be more hours per month for the ai. Overall though pretty cool!

Hours should not expire when subscription ends. Otherwise good service
Good app, despite hardware issues
2025 Update: many of these bugs persist years later, but Octopod keeps getting updates like Live Activities where I can see the % at the top of the screen without opening the app or waiting for the next notification. I’ll email the developer again about all the bugs and mention this too. He has always been super responsive, but I’m docking 2 stars for now. Good app, but lacking features and regular updates. — 2022: My Pi 4 is tucked away in a closet with the 3D printer. Although it never sputters on LAN while at home, it seems to be a different story externally and buffers quite a bit when accessing remotely outside of my house. Any remote access requires good connection, which I think I'm barely out of the range of in my "closet scenario." I still get email/text alerts immediately, but streaming for more than a few seconds seems to be barely out of reach. It's so close to 5 stars, but I think it could really benefit from some more development with better dynamic resolution / bps to avoid as much buffering. Could we even select what resolution we want easily instead of ONLY offering the dynamic? One star docked. I was also a beta tester since I've used Spaghetti Detective long before it was Obico. I think it's gotten better and they had Baby Step Z as a feature for awhile, but it disappeared! It worked perfectly for me, but I imagine it was a bit experimental and didn't work for everyone. I'm sad it's gone, but I can understand. No stars docked. iPad version needs a lot of work. It is basically just a camera in landscape mode and you can't click anything. I have a landscape keyboard case, so this is pretty frustrating. One star docked.
Works
I have Obico running self hosted and it’s already saved a couple of prints from continuing while failing. Snapmaker U1 with the extended firmware
It’s so dumb and useless
Gives you zero tools in slicer, can’t even change the filament to TPU so I have to manually go in and change everything, can’t rotate my project to lay it flat so I don’t need supports cause again there’s no tools. Tried using a different slicer that does actually work, but it recognizes the printer, but won’t let me send to the printer. If I send the file through a usb stick from another slicer it just goes crazy when it’s printing. Seen everything online saying clipper is so much better than Marlin and I’m bout to throw all this away and go back. Nothing simple about it, hard to find videos for help, took me 3 nights to get the btt pi2 and klipper to work right. Did all of this to wifi print…. Could have just installed a wifi board to my screen and not got clipper and still been printing. Only printed 1 thing right since (only cause I didn’t have to change its position) and can’t figure out what slicer to use so I can properly orient the objects so I can print them correctly.

Great app although webcam can be a bit slow
Pretty inconsistent.
In the last couple weeks I’ve had a ton of false positives and negatives to the point I don’t feel like I can trust it anymore. It pauses prints that are fine and ignores obvious failures. Can’t really justify paying for this if I still have to monitor prints so closely.
Camera Support seems broken
The mobile Obico app doesn't show my camera feed of my self-hosted Obico instance anymore. This isn't about the Obico-Server itselfs, because the web-interface still shows the camera feed. It's just that the mobile app pretends there is no camera connected.

I love this app
I love this app. It’s easy to use it’s very intuitive I can access my printer from anywhere with amazing frame rates. As long as your camera has full view of the print bed it has good failure detection. The only thing I wish it had was an off button to turn off my raspberry pi and shortcut support to do it with a shortcut rather than having to use the tunnel function to manually shut it down.

They finally added landscape mode with a magic keyboard…
…but doing certain actions still flips the screen into portrait mode and then locks it there. An example is tunneling to octoprint. When exiting, it goes back to portrait mode and then I have to close the app and open it again to get it back to landscape. Great app otherwise, and incredibly useful.
Great service
Connect all my printers here and can control them from anywhere I have a computer/phone. Easy to use and easy to connect printers even on custom klipper installs.

Leave well enough alone. There was no name change needed. You did it for the sake of changing it. You had a brand already.
Only wish it had landscape mode
I use my iPad to monitor prints and I always have my iPad in landscape to use almost all other apps but with Obico it’s sideways this way. Otherwise seems really good so far. Please make it landscape compatible.

Dall app non é possibile controllare la stampante, cosa possibile direttamente dal sito... Inoltre aggiungerei un blocco controllo durante la stampa (Premetto che usavo TSD prima dell app)
Well designed, great plans, saves the day
This app is really well designed and works great. They also give you a free plan with 10 detection hours a month which is awesome. They offer all these amazing features for free and the subscription is really cheap and worth it if you need the extra hours.
Great with some issues
Works amazing but when obico hosted locally this app does not show video (it starts and jump onto random 2 days old frame). On web app video works good.
Works well, even the free version
This has been working exactly as advertised. The free version does lose some functionality but overall is very good.
Landscape Mode
App is great, however; needs landscape mode for iPadOS.
Great App
Great app, saved my printer on more than one occasion. Have had some issues, they have always been quick to fix them.
Works quite well except..
running self-hosted and while normal access to my printers and cameras is all lightning fast that is not the case when using Obico against my locally hosted install. Logs aren't giving much info either. For now, I'm good but I am going to keep digging into this along the way because I know the performance is there.
Use it all the time
This is my go to app to monitor my 3D prints on iPad and android devices. Gives you great control over he process. My only nit is that on an IPad it won’t go into landscape mode
Works as expected
I’ve been using TSD mobile app since it was in beta and I didn’t even realize they released it officially. It’s come a long way and works exactly as it should. There aren’t any weird glitches or bugs that I’ve noticed. If you already use The Spaghetti Detective idk why you don’t have this app installed already. It’s much better than using a mobile browser. I’m definitely glad I subscribed so that I can support the devs. I probably interact with my printers through TSD more often than any other way.
