What people like
- Natural sounding voices are great.
- Super easy to use simply.
- Perfect for multitasking on the go.
What they complain about
- Prices are shockingly high.
- App crashes and glitches often.
- Free version is barely usable.
Amazing!
I like the voices better then speechify, however speechify does allow you to clone your own voice to read to you which i like however you have to pay for it , if this app could allow cloning of voice and making it free this read4me would surpass speechify
Doesn’t work
This thing says it works for irl books without paying but it just sits there glitching out when you try to read it
About this app
It would be a 5 but it reads the page number and I don’t like that. But like this other app it does not say dot for a “. So that’s why it is a 4 star rating. If you don’t like reading get this app.
Constantly Glitches
The free trial of the app was great. As soon as I started paying for the app, I’ve had nothing but glitches. It will read one page of 10, then glitch. I go back into the app and select to play the folder, as I’ve already read the first page I press the arrow to go to the next page and it glitches. I have to go back into the app again, select my folder, select the page to start on only for it to glitch again closing the app. This is a continuous process of wasting my time. I can sometimes get it to read a whole page but it glitches when I try to select the next page. After trying to access the next page 3 or 4 more times, it will start reading the next page, then stop. I do not recommend the app if you need to have something longer than a single page read.
Speechify App has all these features!
I have found out using the Speechify App has all these features particular PDF reading, Microsoft Word reading as well as website links reading. I don't know which is the subscription price for the Speechify App but I would encourage this app to consider competition with other apps as part of pricing for monthly access beyond the trial period.
Finally, an app exactly what I needed
It’s not overly complicated Simple, but effective thank you to the creators of this app. I love it.
My review
This app needs a free voice that is actually understandable
Works 90% of the time
Makes a decent amount of spelling my errors It works great , could use more voices though!
App quality is Mehh & Kinda scammy
Okay, the forgetting to cancel the trial parts on me - but $50 for a month? Way too expensive, but what part is scammy? Go into your subscriptions and click on this app, then see all plans - Available Plans Read4Me Premium Unlimited $4.49 per week Read4Me Premium Unlimited $9.99 per week Here’s the first 2 - that anyone can access regardless of your deals/sales/special offers. The app itself is kinda low quality as well. There’s def better ones out there like speechify. I think I’ve wrote 3 bad reviews in my life but this one needs some work.

It won’t let me use the summary
Amazing
Wow! 100%recommended! Specifically if you don’t have time to read wile you have a busy life. 🫶🏽
Predatory Prices for bare Minimum Service
Do not support these guys at all
Takes too long to load
It takes forever to load and now when I try to paste the link, it won’t even load all the way to listen to
The voice thing
I want to change the voice but it won’t
Get now’
Real voices, smooth talking 10/10. Free!
just weird
voice was horribly ai, didn’t have at least child voices for narwhal and jelly, and didn’t pause right.
Not my favorite
Allows you to listen for free but constantly bugs you between pages to try the free trial and charge you after 3 days. Very annoying. It does scan and read the correct text. I followed along just to make sure. The free voice is very robotic. If you pay for the app the voice is more natural sounding.
Fine but It doesn't have enough diversity of voices😫
It doesn't have enough diversity of voices, it doesn't have any with a Spanish accent, it's very difficult to hear class notes with English or Indian accents. I would appreciate it if there was more variety of voices.
Summer reading
Really good because now I don’t have to read and I can have it read to me
CRASHES CONSTANTLY
Say the offer a free version but anytime that you deny upgrading to their premium version (which is $50 a month by the way) the app mysteriously crashes. Total scam trying to get you to sign up for three day free trial hoping you forget about it and they can charge you $50 a month for the most basic bs!
Freezes and shuts down frequently
The app has potential but for the price it’s got too many major bugs. Wish I could get refunded. My main concerns: 1: Taking a pic of the page of words will sometimes rearrange the sentence or add in random “a” or “is” and you have to edit. 2: when listening to the documents it will just freeze and I have to shut the app down and start it all over again. Frustrating because it won’t just start from where you left off. 3: The app just closes randomly, especially when trying to edit the issues in the capturing. Way too many major bugs. The voices sound good for listening but can’t get further than a couple mins without these issues. :(
For the cost it isn't what I would expect
For the amount yu are wanting to charge a person for a subscription - it isn't the best. I would expect for such high pricing it would be more fluid with use and not so chunky in way of being able to listen to text. It should also be easier to start listening to text from a specified section of text. If it was cheaper in terms of sub then maybe I would stick with it as being able to listen to text is my preferred method due to my adhd and autism - it helps keep me focused on the subject I'm reading about and not skip ahead or not absorb the material correctly.
It’s a really good app. It reads everything for you.
I love it because I don’t have to go through needing to read a whole bunch of things. I could just ask you to read it for me.
Good but
I thought you just took a picture of the title you would have the thing but I spent half an hour just taking the picture of the book and then it’s saying I put a voice and it restarted the whole voice
Definitely does his job
Works greatly
Awful app
Predatory pricing: has a free 3 day trial then will charge $50 / month for an app to read out loud, a scamming amount of money. Also, no luck getting it to read my pdf without subscribing.
One of the top three app.
This app is amazing. A must have.
Horrible app
I cannot stress enough just how bad this app is. First of all, it tries to deceive you into subscribing to a $50 per month service, just for a read aloud app. Secondly, if you don’t comply with doing so, it seemingly intentionally punishes you for it. The AI reader will not start from the beginning of the PDF, and will also abruptly cut off before the end. It also seems to skip over words quite frequently, leaving you trying to understand a sentence that made no grammatical sense when read aloud by the app. This app is really, really bad. And highly immoral in its coercive and deceptive tactics to get you to subscribe to a $50/per month service (FOR A READ OUT LOUD APP, OF ALL THINGS). Don’t give this company a dime or moment of attention. They are far from deserving of it.
Ok
Don’t know how to read and this helps me understand!!
Scam
This app is such a scam along with every other app that reads to you. It’s practically unusable without paying for pro.
Awesome app
Awesome app! Nothing beats listening to your books while doing a morning jog.
