Great App but Game Closes Easily
The app is an excellent way to refresh and better understand algebraic concepts; however, the UI is too sensitive. When swiping to cancel out variables, the app screen returns to the homepage if not extremely careful. After reopening, it does not return to the problem, there is a complete refresh and a new problem is generated.

The video explanation never works
I keep trying to understand how this app works but there’s no directions. The video on how it works, never works. I literally just had to wing it. No it’s not my connection. 3 different internet service providers WiFi I’ve logged into. Now I have to go search online myself if I want to keep playing and no one has time for that.

This was so good absolutely no words, this just… helped me a lot for my algebra classes.
Still makes no sense.
Even the first lessons don’t make sense. Why can’t these apps get normal humans (who speak plain English) design them. Maybe that’s the primary problem with algebra, it doesn’t use PLAIN simple English. Or maybe it’s whoever designed this App think its “cute” to use terms that only their academic peers understand.
Old Dog, New Tricks
Facing yours fears can actually be fun and Algebra Touch is proof of that. It’s a no pressure, highly intuitive learning process. It’s gamified, but not cheesy. When you make mistakes, it gives a gentle nudge to keep going. No embarrassment, no shaming. Having the proper instruction can make or break a student and this app has empowered me in a way only a few teachers in my life ever have. I’d suggest adding more problems or having users submitted their own for others to solve. That feeling of accomplishment when solving problems is addictive.
Toy.
Been out of school for 18 years. Took less than 2 hours to finish from no memory of Algebra. The lessons are limited in scope, the challenges are annoying. Annoying? They throw random cancelable terms at the problem. You get no opportunity to “Think” because every 5 seconds you gotta remove a monkey wrench. If you try and use the challenges as a daily “study” all you learn is how to quickly choose the best “move” in the “simplify until theirs an answer” game. After a week I had no understanding of anything except moving terms around and the app automagically choosing the operation. I had an intuitive understanding of the meta game. This would be fine if the lessons didn’t stop after all the operators where introduced. It stops at equalities. “make your own equations” is all thats left after introducing all the operators. How vacuous. This is a tech demo
Doesn’t do like is says
I bought this because I wanted more practice. You’re supposed to be able to drag and merge but after you pay you get little red lines that don’t work. Frustrating because this has the potential to be a great learning app
It makes algebra fun
I was never mathematically inclined, I struggled with algebra in school but remember a lot of the rules. I always wanted to get good at algebra because it’s the foundation for higher level math like calculus and trigonometry. This app makes doing algebra fun and seamless. It has you focusing on the fundamentals rather than the calculations, as that is what I struggled with the most back in the day. Brilliant app. More than worth the price for the pro version.
Make it easer to drag
It’s hard to utilise this app because when dragging things together, e.g. the like terms, it’s extremely difficult to combine them. It takes at least 40 seconds
That’s wrong
Amazing but. In the exponents lesson 3^2+4^2 is not equal to 7^2
It’s ok
So it’s super difficult to figure out how it wants you to perform the tasks like the “drag and drop” portions I’ll know the answer but have no idea to make it do what I need it to do. Very frustrating.

After 1-2 hours I ran out of material. You want more, you get to pay for more.
Best way to learn Algebra
The fact that you can’t move on without getting the answer correct repeatedly is what makes it so easy to learn and apply. There’s no timer so no unnecessary anxiety of having to hurry. Tutorials for each problem eliminates getting stuck with wrong answers.

No way to answer the questions and the tutorial I see in the description doesn't exist, at least in the version I downloaded.

Mostly good
I can’t comment on how well this teaches because I already know how to do the maths but for me it was fun to refresh my memory and just play around. However I am not sure about the challenge mode which is designed to add things or make moves if the problem isn’t solved within a short time. I know that when I was first learning this maths I would have found that stressful and confusing. Admittedly that may just be a matter of personal temperament. I certainly found it confusing now when I realised it was making changes, I thought it must be a bug, and I think a brief explanation of how the challenge mode works would be helpful.

They get you to pay, and there aren’t many levels after that. Everything is extremely easy. You will not improve your maths after this.
Algebra Touch
Really great algebra primer. The challenge sections are infuriating as they have a timer component which is completely pointless and it keeps adding complexity that does not teach you anything and forces you to constantly restart the challenge. Remove the timer and it is five out five.
Touch controls absolutely ruin this.
Has a lot of potential. The reviews about the touch issues are pretty accurate. Not a 5 star product.

Doesn’t work
The very first exercise (no instructions at all on how to use) has no way to solve the problem. The numbers just click around and chase other. Extremely frustrating.
The app is good just a fast timer for new people in pre algebra
So when you get to the challenge stage the time is to quick and i am about to solve it but then it just adds more stuff in making it hard for people who just started pre algebra because you get like ten seconds. However it has helped me learn tons of things which is why im giving it 3 stars
Fantastic!
As a high school math teacher if you a student struggling with algebra this is the app to get. They intuitively learn the properties of real numbers. And before you know it, they’ll be solving equations. And it’s all done visually. I had been looking for something to recommend to parents. So I bought this app just to try it out. I’m glad I did! I worked through every single section and I love it!

You get 1/4 through the material and then it’s pay to play. Don’t offer under free apps when it’s not!!!!!
Good for younger students
If you are grades 6-8, this is a good app for you. This is not suit for older students, and the only stuff that would be worthy for advanced students is blocked off by a paywall.

A bit misleading, very minimal access without purchasing a subscription. Great concept- unfortunate you have to pay for anything useful.
