Best lesson planner out there!
I’ve been using Planbook for around 10 years and it is absolutely the best. I can design my own templates, add standards with just a click, save my files to a unit, bump lessons for inclement weather days, copy or extend lessons, and SO MUCH MORE. I will never use anything else.
Lots of bugs
Keeps kicking me out and freezing
Love the toggle option!!
I LOVE how you can toggle from month to day, view one or all classes. I don’t give it 5 stars simply because of its processing speed. It seems to have improved as compared to previous years. Every little change takes a few seconds to process so in the flow of writing, it doesn’t make it the best tool to plan directly on. Maybe I’m being unfair because I am expecting the same response as a rule. All in all leaving out outside, it’s an excellent platform and if it were not for that, I will give it five stars.
I want to like it.
I spend more time restarting than actually planning. It is always glitching.
Speech to text
The only reason I gave it three stars is because there have been times that I have tried to use speech to text and I’ve had to record it two or three times and it still doesn’t work. Then I end up typing it taking more time out of my crazy busy day.
Does what it promises - and then some.
I have never regretted my subscription to Planbook.com. I recently went ahead and renewed for three years (I would buy lifetime if it were available). There are no ads and this application delivers on all its promises. I teach a combined age class and the ability to build lesson banks separated by units is invaluable. The only thing I would like to see is a desktop application. Right now on my computer I need to go to Planbook.com. I would prefer an application installed directly to my hard drive.
Set up headaches
Every year, setup is miserable. Things change from year to year & it’s difficult to figure out. Once things have been set, the rest of the year is a breeze & it’s amazing. Too bad you didn’t ask for a rating later in the year…you would’ve gotten 4-stars! But I’ve been working on this setup for 2 hours now (& it’s a simple schedule!) so it’s a 1-star rating! :)
Great except google sign in doesn’t work on app
Love the app on my desktop and can’t live without it. The app, however, does not allow for single sign on like google as the desktop does, rendering my access to the app useless. I’ve already paid for an account with my sign on, so not willing to make another. 5 stars for the program, 1 to the app for lack of access. I’m sure I’m not the only one. Will wait for updates, but this really limits my mobility.
Don’t trust!!
Generally I like this app but I have lost SO many lesson plans because I’ll be in the app and then need to check something in another app, like a definition, and when I go RIGHT back to this app (took me about 30 seconds) everything was gone. I keep forgetting to hit the stupid check mark to save. Can you please make it auto-save?! Thank you
Crashes very frequently
A great app for planning and organizing. I hope they fix the constant crashing when editing lessons/classes, as well as continue to update the interface to make more user-friendly.
Great for homeschooling!
This is my favorite app to use while homeschooling
Deleting a class
I tried to delete a class i didn’t need and could not do it
Great but
Browser version on a computer is great. iPad App needs lots of updates. Pretty outdated. Including better writing support for Apple Pencil.
Not bothering to log in
I used to love this app because I could have it up on my phone and use it throughout the day. One of the updates, however, has made it so that I have to log in after a short period of time. Continuously logging in is taking away from my teaching. I have effectively stopped using the app due to this issue and will probably not renew my subscription unless this is fixed. Thank you.
We have been having issues with PlanBook…
Planbook is amazing! My mom, brother, sister and I have been using it for almost two years now. My mom puts all of our assignments in for our school. But recently, we have been having major issues. For some reason, assignments are not showing for completely random days. My mom had tried everything to fix it. When she tried to fix it, she accidentally deleted the entire semester. She has been trying to put all of the assignments back in. Now, all assignments are randomly disappearing again. This is not okay because we cannot get behind. Other than those issues, Planbook has been okay.
Best tool
I am always hesitant to purchase products. This is one I support. The customer service is amazing. The layout is great.
Way too buggy
This app is trash. Way too buggy and super clumsy. If my school wasn’t using this, I certainly wouldn’t be either.
Unable to Access my Drive
I love working with the app version, but my biggest issue is that I’m unable to access my files in my Google Drive. For some reason it looks like is loading but it doesn’t.
Unreliable
I have been using this app for a few years now and have recommended it to countless people, never with any issues. Over the past year on several different occasions, I have updated my lessons and gone to open them the next day only to not find them there. I have double checked that I’m hitting save, I have updated the app, I have even deleted and re-downloaded the app. It’s great when it works how it should, but disappointing to find my work gone on multiple occasions. Still gave it two stars because I continue to use it despite its flaws.
Copy/Paste Feature
It is disappointing that problems with the copy/paste a lesson feature wasn’t able to be resolved. For those of us who repeat a lesson across a day or on different days at different times, we used to be able to easily copy and paste and the time of the class would remain. This feature isn’t a problem when using a desktop machine, but still has not been resolved for iPhone users. The time of each class the lesson is pasted to will change, then you have to go in and reset the time of the class. We aren’t copy and pasting a class. We are copying and pasting lesson. I don’t understand why this feature was dropped. It makes it less user-friendly.
Awesome
It is awesome
Buggy
I spent about an hour trying to get the app to work, but I was never able to successfully add information for even one class before the app would crash, forcing me to start over. Disappointing, because it would have been a very helpful tool.
Love the idea - just wish I didn’t have to log in every time.
I am a Planbook addict: on the web this rocks. The app has a lot of strengths and is easy to use but the login every time is something I bump on. Why can’t it use faceID or TouchID? Or just remember me?
Won’t display in portrait view
For some reason this app won’t display in portrait mode on my work issued iPad.
New version 😩
I have been using this app since 2016. Everything worked seamless and saved me a lot of time. It was awesome. New version takes twice as long. Many problems along the way. It is now awful. Hate the defaults more than you can imagine. You need to remember this is not all about how many fancy options you can install. We have to be able to coordinate it with our school programs to upload, share, etc. Have been using for a month now and just keep finding more issues with it.
Love it
I have used it for a few months now and will continue to use it next school year.
It won’t let me upload photos on your app
Your app won’t let me upload but safari does yet it has problems
Yearly fee
I don’t mind paying for a good app. I DO mind when it isn’t clear up front that there’s a fee. I just set this up and transferred data to discover I was in a free trial.
Give teachers what they ask for
This app is mostly quality, at least the desktop version. But teachers have been BEGGING not to have to enter a password every time they open the app on a mobile device. Why do you not listen??? Everything in this day and age for teachers has become a cumbersome burden that slows us down and makes our jobs more difficult. Must you join them? How about just an option to turn off the password?
Events in Apps don’t work
This is a great company and website! However, the app is a little more touchy. For the majority, if not the full school year, I’ve been unable to create events on the app, but this is something I used to be able to do. I get an error telling me to pick a valid start time, but nothing is wrong with the time I pick. Please fix! Other than that, this is a great way to do plans on the go! Thanks for making a great program!
Server down
Why is the server down on a Monday and school day
No Copy Button on Update!
If you have not updated DONT DO IT! The app no longer supports the copy link. Making you use the website instead of having easy access.
Not familiar no training
Difficult
PERFECT FOR BOTH HOMESCHOOL TEACHERS AND SCHOOL TEACHERS
I’ve been using this for 1 week, and I love it so far, but it is a little too complicated once you first get it. Not any cons except the complicated thing, honestly I love this. Also, I hope the developers can add the copy and paste.
problem
can’t see my teachers
Features
I love Planbook on my computer but I wish the app had more features like copying lessons from other years and teachers and switching between days to continue planning easily.
Time Saver
The option to embed Planbook into Canvas is such a time saver. This also fosters independence and accountability because all assignments (past and present) are accessible to students and their families.
Deleted all my lesson plans
I went to download my lesson plans to submit and they were all deleted! Yes, my subscription was up to date. No, nobody is available to speak too. So here I am on a Sunday evening having to rewrite all my plans. Lesson learned - DO NOT USE THIS SITE.
Fantastic
What a time-saving program, I just got my weekends back.
Invalid Date
Can’t even get past the sign up page because it won’t let me submit the dates for the school year. Kept saying invalid. How disappointing.
