I really like it so far. You can’t really go wrong for the price.
Misleading
Misleading app it’s listed with other apps that point and click mushroom pictures and I paid for this app that don’t do anything but reference.
Great but…
Don’t get me wrong. This app is great, but it uses a UK mushroom database. While Europe is far superior than the US in its mushroom history and the mycology ranks, mushrooms and hunting are very specific to their respective regions. Easy example: Fly Agaric in Minnesota are generally yellow with white spots, not red with white spots.
What just happened?
Love the app and have been using it for years…. However quite dismayed that I swiped over to see if there were any additional photos and automatically got signed up for premium with a payment of 3.99$. I don’t think this is fair practice and quite Unfortunate. No longer will I rave about this app.
Great but very limited
This app is very detailed for the species of fungi it has. I appreciate the simple design of the interface. The only issue I have with this app is the narrow amount of fungi is has. It only holds the “top” fungi or the most recognizable fungi. I really wish it had a much larger base of species to ID, as the ones it has could be identified very easily without the app. It’s worth the purchase for your first intro to fungal ID, but it’s not much help after a short time.

Guess what mushroom
My cousin looked a mushroom up on this game and it didn’t even pop up. It doesn’t have a lot of mushrooms and I can’t take pictures which I need to take pictures so I can figure out which one it is. I know you sometimes can’t trust the pictures but they really help
Add function??
APP is affordable and user friendly. Surely not covering every mushroom. Good to have a new section like forum? Or simply let users upload their photos after approved by admin? Absolutely, those pictures in the APP not enough to cover the significant details of identifying mushrooms.
Upgrade?
Just loaded the app and found there to be only one image per species (and an offer to upgrade for more pictures @$3.99). I upgraded it and was disappointed to find that most species gained only one additional image (though some got two). I hope the app is good but my expectations are low - usually when the “Offer” turns out to be misleading things don’t turn out well….
Confused cause it says I’m in the UK — I am in the U.S.
Could use some help. Not sure how to change my location settings?

Very few species!
I appreciate that this is based on a keying system, rather than trying to ID mushrooms automatically from photos. However, it contains VERY few species. I just tried it on three of the most common species I’ve been finding this summer and it only had one of them. (Had Baorangia bicolor, did not have Suillus spraguei or Harrya chromapes.)
Lacking species
This app would be better if more species were included. For example, there are more than 50 species of Ramaria in the Pacific Northwest, but this app mentions 3 total. I wanted to use it to look at spring snowmelt mushrooms and found it lacking.

It broke after the latest IOS update
I love this app but since the last iOS update, every click sends me to a blank page. I have to exit out of the app and come back to see the next page, which makes this app unusable

This app is lacking. It seems to give a few choices and from what i have found they were all wrong . Their identity choice has been wrong so far 4 out of the last 6 times i have tried it. Dont trust this and always do a spore print.

Missing some Northeastern mushrooms of the USA, some that are toxic and can be mistaken for an edible that is not found within the app. I advise any users to use the app with caution, and the developers to find and add more mushrooms, especially any recent. A book I have called, “Mushrooms of the Northeast,” by Teresa Marrone and Walt Sturgeon show many mushrooms, including some that are not in the app. I also want to advise any beginner foragers to talk to an expert one on one. These apps can make mistakes and if in doubt, throw it out!
Doesn't tie up with book
The app purports to correlate with Roger Phillips' book Mushrooms and every entry tells you what page to look the item up on. I bought a copy of the book and find that there isn't one correct citation. The book has 288 pages but some of the references in the app are for pages in the 300s. Very odd as I can't see that there was ever any more than one edition of the book.

Almost there…
I’m from Canada - we have diverse climates from east to west and north to south but the Canadian filter on this app doesn’t have the option to select regions of my country. I’m from Ontario which has a very different climate than British Columbia which is very different from The Northwest Territories. Seems like an easy fix. They divided The States up. ALSO I payed the premium to gain access to more photos of each mushroom (without paying there is only one photo of each mushroom to view) thinking it was going to give me tons of excellent photos of each mushroom but instead it only gave me two or three more photos and some remained as only one photo and many of them aren’t necessarily great photos… Come on guys… not a big fix either… just add more/better photos to help with IDs. Fix these issues and it’s a 5 star review from me.
Accurate identification
I’ve used this app for several years now, and depending on your specimen’s condition, etc, it is very effective. I trashed at least a dozen other apps that just don’t get the job done!
