Initial observations
I was looking for a sudoku game without ads. I would say that this is a bit more sophisticated than what I was using before. I am a beginner level and frankly did not realize there’s all kinds of different strategies which this app introduces you too. I like the fact that I can seamlessly play games between my iPad and phone. I’m an older adult looking for a little brain exercise and find sudoku very engaging. I don’t have any suggestions right now. Keep up the good work and I’m glad I found this sudoku app. Just a word for anyone after you download it go through the learning exercises. And gain introduction if you’ve never done this before.
Black screen of death…
I know internet connection is required, and game center required for daily puzzles which are reasons enough to delete, but on top of that it's WAY TOO BUGGY! It is once again at the black "loading" screen that never goes away (despite solid/fast internet?!?!) I really want to like this game (in spite of the internet/game center requirements), but it's just too problematic! I've reloaded this several times. Works for a few days, then I go to open and it's back at the black loading screen. Most often in the improve section, but frequently when loading a game. Once it starts, can't play without deleting / reinstalling. Deleted
One major flaw
I’ve completed over 140 pro and over 100 impossible puzzles. So far, I have found 3 pro-level puzzles that violate the Sudoku uniqueness rule. The solutions to these 3 puzzles have one or more “unique” or “avoidable” rectangles…that aren’t avoidable (since they are in the solution). Attempted to leave feedback within the app, but haven’t heard from the developer.
Do not understand
Not good. I have no idea how to load a new game. I paid my one time fee for good Sudoku and do not know anything about how to initiate a game. Can I only play one a day? Can I play an advanced game? Nor do I know what the three vertical bars are for on the left side. No instruction set or definitions. Hints? Do not want them. But no idea how to get them. Game is one time $4.99, but do not know if this means. NADA, NO INSTRUCTION. NO CLUES. NO CHOICES, NO GAME AFTER THE FIRST.
super slow loading, no offline mode
love the interface of this app but the slow loading and lack of an offline play option really takes away from it.
The App the Taught me Sudoku
I was never much for puzzle games but I always liked the allure of being able to solve sudoku puzzles. After much time and specifically this app helping me learn to visualize the game better I'm now half decent!

Was great TIL YOU BROKE IT
This is definitely my favorite Sudoku app to play. Excellent, clean UI, great teaching tools. BUT. With the last update, offline play is completely broken, sticking on the loading screen forever. Since one of my primary play times is on log plane flights with no net… yeah, it becomes worthless. Also, scores for Classic mode are also broken, regularly giving me a score of… 1. If fixed, this would once again be a 5-star app, as it was for years. But these are both major, annoying bugs that I personally submitted bug reports on over 6 months ago. So unless and until it gets fixed, I’m docking one star per bug.
I love this up sm but the loading screen issue is annoying
This app? deserves 5/5. Its soo goooodd. Customizable, smart, easy to use, makes sudoku more fun. Its genuinely ruined any other apps, so yeah. All I hope for is for the developer to fix the loading screen issue. As its frustrating and requires me to delete it and redownload it sometimes. making me lose my progress…
Drains battery
On my Mac (Apple M4 chip) the game consumes over 200% CPU continually. The Mac gets hot. And it I quit the app it STILL consumes over 200%. Need to force exit to finally stop it. It’s a shame because on iOS it’s a great app.
BS “hints”
So far the app is great. 1-2 ads after each game is fair. What’s irritating is clicking on hint only to be shown a “naked pair” that I’ve already seen and eliminated the appropriate numbers for. Like, just say theres no hint to give.

Excellent Sudoku App, but No Offline Mode
Good Sudoku is among the best Sudoku apps on iOS, and I was happy to pay for the full version. Unfortunately, the lack of a proper offline mode is a deal breaker. A Sudoku app, especially when paid, should be able to launch and play local puzzles without an internet connection. Online features like daily puzzles and leaderboards can understandably require internet access, but the core game shouldn’t. The app is also currently plagued by loading-screen issues, with it sometimes getting stuck indefinitely. More concerningly, it appears to no longer be actively maintained, with the last update over a year ago despite these ongoing problems. It’s a shame because the actual Sudoku experience is excellent. I’d gladly rate it higher if reliable offline support and the loading issues were fixed.
Excellent Learning Tool
Nothing but good things to say about this app. It walks you gently through solving techniques in order of difficulty. Features to appreciate: auto-candidates, highlighting of individual candidate numbers (i.e., have it show all 1’s), easy to understand explanations, and revert to last error-free state. Ad-free cost is reasonable.
Daily results don’t work
I used to love this app, but now the daily results don’t work. On the good and arcade ones you can win medals but it doesn’t show on your medal count. And the classic never shows. It also won’t let me get my last achievement. Please fix this!
Would be ***** if only…
Great tools for solving puzzles. I have just one wish which is keeping me from giving it 5 stars - I wish it supported “Number First” input.

If you’re looking for a simple, humble, no frills Sudoku app, do not look here. I was trying to find more apps with harder puzzles, and instead downloaded a no-name name-dropping moodboard with a grid whose lines were left out in the sun to bleach, and for some reason there’s muzak?
Seems good if you already know Sudoku
But very frustrating for someone trying to learn the game. Hints only give one piece of information (and always something I already know). Why not allow for another hint that might reveal the logic needed to find a number.
Great App, but buggy
I have tried over 20 Apps and this the best for challenging games. I agree the hints are useful and understandable. The app does a lot. I wish I didn’t have so much trouble with it unexpectedly leaving not mode.
Major flaw
Everything is good except you can’t put the input to be number’s first meaning you can’t select a number and then just touch square and that same number continues to be selected as input to the square. You must select the number each time. This makes no sense and every other Sudoku app does not make you select it again. Zach needs to change this. Also frustrating is when you ask for a hint, it will restore notes that you have removed before and remove them again as if you never deleted them. Crazy stuff.
Needs number lock
Looking for a new Sudoku app after my last preferred one stopped being supported on newer IOS. This looks to be amazing but I have one request: please make it possible to lock into a specific number when taking notes or inputting solutions. That way it reduces the number of screen taps. I don’t like having to tap a cell and then select a number. If solving for all the 2s, or writing notes for all the 2s, I want to be able to lock that number in once and then tap all the corresponding cells in the puzzle. Some other apps enable this through an extended press on that number on the number pad. Thank you!
Used to be great
This has been my go-to sudoku app for years. The developer seems to have abandoned it, though and it’s just getting steadily worse. The app takes longer and longer to launch, to the point where text shows up saying “this is taking longer than expected!” almost every time. I was on a flight recently and my phone screen would go to sleep before the app would launch. The Game Center icon stays in the top right corner and covers some of the numbers. This app used to be amazing and now I want to start looking for other apps.
Good But…
The lack of demarcation around the cells and highlighting the pencil marks rather than the cell itself makes it impossible for me to correctly identify in which cell the pencil mark is located. For pity’s sake - highlight the containing cell, not the pencil mark. And put lines between the cells.
Simply Wonderful
I haven't played sudoku in years but this game came as a recommendation; so I decided to give it a try and fell back in love with the game. It has a very simple and straightforward layout while still being beautiful at the same time. The polite "excuse the ad" was what made me want to buy the full version. Thank you for putting time into this. It is much appreciated.
Please remove Game Center
I can barely play this any more, and when I can it takes forever to load. There’s no reason for this game to require an internet connection.
Good sudoku but....
The best sudoku app I have ever played. But there are some bugs which destroy my experience. I'm learning the Techniques right now in order to do the Game Center mission. But I can't loading into the 2-String Kite and Finned Jellyfish. I don't know what happened. I hope the engineer can fix this bug. I always love this app. Plz ！

Can’t play offline
I paid money for this app years ago and have played it offline before due to flying a lot. Tried to play it offline today and nothing. It’s sudoku, why not be able to play offline?? Used to be my favorite game but the fact that I can’t play it offline, dropped it to the bottom of my list.
I love the app but…
Great app! I love the music and the personal way it “speaks” to the user. The music and the color schemes are nice too. My only gripe is that 8 out of 10 times trying to start the app it gets stuck on the loading screen. Sometimes killing the app helps. Or restarting my phone. But that doesn’t work every time so I end up just waiting an hour or two. But sometimes that doesn’t help either. A bit frustrating since I paid for the full version of the app.
Glitch Sudoku
EVERY DAY the game errors our in the middle and doesn’t save. Pretty sure the developers want you to watch more ads. It used to be Good, now it’s Glitch Sudoku. SAD.
Used to be better before requiring internet to use
I really want to give this app 5 stars since it does the best job out of any of the sudoku apps I’ve tried. The user interface is excellent and the design overall is clean. Unfortunately, the app no longer launches when you are not connected to the internet. I’ve even purchased the full ad-free version of the app but it stays on a loading screen forever when you don’t have an internet connection. This really sucks as it used to be my go-to game when I was on the subway or on a flight. There should really be an offline capable mode for the paying users at least.
Looks great
It's has a very nice interface and is well organized but the hints don't work very well. It just shows you moves you've already made in most cases. I've also rarely gotten an incorrect solution on other sudoku apps but somehow on this one it happens a lot.
Hints are great for learning but the visual interface is very busy and can be hard to see
Overall a nice sudoku app. I love the hints with thorough explanations, which are great for learning. But, using the hints requires using the system of annotating all possible candidates for a cell and then crossing out candidates with a red line (rather than removing candidates you’ve ruled out). This makes for a visually crowded and confusing game, much more so than if candidates could be completely erased as you eliminate them.
Perfect sudoku
Well worth the upgrade to the full version. Input your own boards, auto notation, GREAT hints, and so much more.
Latest Update Broken
I lost all of my history and it never seems to record when I complete daily tournaments. That update should have been rolled back. If I were Zach Gage, I would be ashamed to have my name on this now. Why is there an icon on the board? This sucks.
Does NOT work offline. Really nice app, clean, nice haptic feedback, and really easy on the eyes.
Does not work offline!! Can’t play on plane rides without the endless loading screen. I enjoy the features that are unique to this app, like the notetaking. I try to make myself think a little bit harder, so I don’t use all of the features to streamline the process. However, I feel like I am doubling my clicking time when I have to select the number and then the board; I wish there was a mode to lock one number and just tap squares, unless I’m missing it!
Too Many Bugs That Developers Refuse to Fix
I started having issues with the app a couple months ago which have made it almost unplayable for me, and despite contacting the developers about these issues several weeks ago, I’ve yet to receive any word on if/when these issues are actually being addressed. Until the developers come out with an update that actually fixes these bugs, I would honestly steer clear of this app as it appears to have been abandoned.
Should call it can’t place numbers sudoku
Tried playing the daily puzzles and I can’t place numbers or notes in certain cells. Immediately deleted.

I have never had an app be as exactly what I wanted as this app is. Absolutely perfect.
Annoyingly buggy
For an app advertised as having great design it’s really buggy. The app says “loading…” indefinitely without an internet connection so you can’t play on an airplane which is insane. Also the UI is really glitchy when switching between light and dark mode at sunrise or sunset Hasn’t been updated in months and developers ignore the support / bug report form
Please fix tournament scoring
I really like this app and I used to enjoy the daily tournaments, but now my score is recorded as just “1” most of the time, when my real score might have been 98K. Very frustrating and makes the competition impossible.
Internet connection required
It seems that as of the latest update an internet connection is required - otherwise it just gets stuck on the initial loading page. Makes it impossible to use on flights without paying for internet :(
Will not back up to iCloud
Never been able to get this to sync which means I’m stuck playing it on the old device I started out with or lose all my badges and streaks. Otherwise, nice way to start off the day.

Was once amazing
I've played this game for many years and have loved it, but recently I've lost interest due to a number of bugs. - no longer tells me how I ranked on yesterday's daily puzzles - freezes briefly every time I finish a puzzle, and when it starts up again the animations are super slow - my Apple Games avatar frequently just gets stuck in the upper right corner, partially blocking a cell I'm assuming all his effort has gone into Puzzmo now, which I also enjoy, but I miss this game.

I had multiple puzzles solved, randomly the app crashed and reset everything. On an iPhone 12 mini, the top notch looks weird or out of place.
