Very convenient and smart
Okay so, I rarely write reviews on apps but this time it’s different. I started to use Hop about a month ago because I wanted to try something different than my car for a small commute from Point A to Point B. I have tried many different scooters and none of them had any damage or signs that they were unsafe to use and you can find one almost anywhere near you. I’ve had an electric scooter before so getting used to it was not a problem. However the prices might discourage some people to use them because it’s 1€ to unlock the scooter and then 0.30€ / per minute. So for 7 minutes riding it’s gonna cost around 3.10€. But I found out if you use the referral program from the app you can ride for FREE!! You can use my personal code to ride for free : Ioannis-57080 I think it’s a great idea for sorter and larger commutes around town and don’t forget to wear at least a helmet for your safety!
Can’t get an SMS
I tried this app on both of my phones in Istanbul, TR. Tried to set up my c card for payments, but didn’t get an approval SMS on neither of them. There seems to be a glitch.

App is terrible,freezes and they make you pay still
Every time something malfunctions,they make you pay. The app freezes and then you pay for the ride you didnt take. They keep charging 1 euro for faulty scooters than dont work,then charge again. It should automatically not hold that money

Είχα χρήματα στο πορτοφόλι αλλά μετά από κάποιους μήνες δεν τα βρήκα σε μια αναβάθμιση;;; Αναμένω να με ενημερώσουν από την εξυπηρέτηση πελατών. Το πατίνι καλό είναι.

Kampanyadan yararlanmak zor olmamalı
Levent’te gördüğüm bisikleti denemek istedim çünkü günlük hayatta genelde metro kullanıyorum ama bisiklet sürmeyi de seviyorum. İlk kullanımda 10 dk ücretsiz kampanyasını gördüm. Uygulamayı indirip kayıt oldum ve bisikletteki QR kodu okutarak kiralama sürecini başlattım. 17 dakika kullandım ve yaklaşık 225 TL civarında bir ücret ödedim. Sorun şu ki, ilk kullanıma özel olduğu belirtilen kampanyadan faydalanamadım. Sonradan öğrendiğim kadarıyla indirimden yararlanmak için önce uygulamanın ana ekranından QR okutmak değil; menüden promosyonlar bölümüne girip kod eklemek, ardından QR kodu okutmak gerekiyormuş. Bu akış kullanıcı açısından oldukça anlaşılmaz. Bence burada ciddi bir UX problemi var. Kampanya sunuluyor ama kullanıcıyı yönlendiren net bir adım yok. Ana sayfadaki hediye ikonuna tıklayınca davet kodu alanı çıkıyor, bu da promosyon mantığını daha da karışık hale getiriyor. İlk kez kullanan biri için doğru adımı bulmak neredeyse mümkün değil. Basit bir pop-up yönlendirme ya da QR okutma ekranında “ilk kullanım indirimi” gibi bir bilgilendirme bu sorunu çözebilirdi. Destek ekibiyle görüştüğümde ise kampanyanın sonradan uygulanamayacağı söylendi. Bu da deneyimi daha da olumsuz hale getirdi. Kısa mesafe bir taksi ücretiyle benzer bir maliyet çıkınca, bu kullanım benim için beklentiyi karşılamadı ve tekrar kullanmayı düşünmüyorum.

Average reliability
It is easy to unlock, to use and is not very expensive but I really don’t like the fact that many vehicles are in a bad condition and is dangerous to ride Also when using the app says that 1€ is the unlock fee which is ok and if the extra cost of the ride is below 1€ that extra cost will be back to your bank account. Most of the times they didn’t give me back this extra cost, so when I make for example a ride of 1.80 they should give me back 0.80 and they don’t.
Turkey- amazing
I have an electric scooter in England to get me from A to B, i randomly decided to visit Turkey this week to see my friends and I noticed these scooters that I haven’t noticed here before, they’ve got me from A to B quickly and safely, cheap and cheerful too. I felt down one day and I just jumped on a scooter and went for a 45 min ride around and saw some lovely views. Only cost £8 in total at the end and I saw views you couldn’t get to in a car or couldn’t be bothered walking to Highly recommended 😁
Out of parking zone
When I was trying to finish the ride, it was repeatedly saying that I’m out of parking zone. I would like to see WHERE is the parking zone!!! There were no indication, just plain map, while the money is going away.

The scooters are not in the best shape. Also do not fall for the free first ride, the will charge you.
Card confirmation is annoying
I have to confirm 100 times before and after ride, why don’t you just make it easier ?

Stupid app
This app is useless, I entered my UK mobile number but it refused to send me a verification code. I used my dad’s Turkish mobile instead to get the verification code instead which worked, but then it wouldn’t let me add a payment method because it said the mobile number was linked to a Mastercard and when I tried adding it, it kept saying error, and it didn’t give me the option to add a different card. Stupid app.
Payment is crap
Cannot set payment up!!! I downloaded the app no problem and set my payment up. My friend tried to do exactly the same (when you click add a card). It just gives you a blank screen with nothing on it. Really poor experience and I’ve now wasted €1. What a rubbish app!
Great scooters but CAN’T PAY THE BILL
We did a 71 minute fun ride and have spent DAYS trying to pay the bill. 3 credit cards entered, 2 accounts on 2 different phones on the HOP! app. Can’t get anyone to answer the English line to resolve this issue. Not worth it in the end, sadly. We would have liked to have rented the scooters more than once, but couldn’t.

Cannot link payment
In Antalya, signed up, says ‘your phone has linked cards’ - press ok / continue and it says ‘parameter error’ and there is no way to add any form of payment! So, I’m not HOPpy - waste of time.

Πολύ κομπλέ τιμές, επίσης αν να πλήρωσες ένα πατίνι και τυχει να μην μπορεις να το οδηγήσεις είτε λόγο μπαταρίας είτε δεν ξέρω εγώ τι σου γυρνάνε το 1 ευρώ. 1 ευρώ είναι ενταξει.. αλλά και πάλι εκτιμάτε η κίνηση

Terrible option
We got 2 scooters and not 30 seconds after mine stopped working and just started beeping for being out of the territory. My wife’s continued to work and even when we walked them back to where we picked them up mine was still beeping and told me I may be charged 30 euros (the map showed I was not in an off limits zone). Will never use again.
Useless
Your hop is not useful. It’s expensive. I had 4 rides and with this price I can take taxi. Why we have to pay 1€ for every ride? And your area is very small. You have to reduce price and make bigger area for parking. Now I delete your app because with this money better to use taxi.

They charge whatever they want in Greece . Don’t use them

These scooters are awesome! WAY better than Martı. Solidly built, fast, and always works. Sometimes the accelerator gets stuck, so be aware of this.
Doesn’t work, charge you for not ridding
I don’t recommend this service since, I have tried 2 scooter both couldn’t start and they charged me for nothing.
