Reading Eagle app for iPad
I strongly dislike the new version of the iPad version of the Reading Eagle app. Instead of showing a single newspaper page at a time, it now shows two pages side-by side. That makes the image too small for me to be able to read the words.
Sometimes….I can log in!!
This is quite challenging to use! Does not like my log in info. Sometimes I can see the Log Out icon, so I should be logged in!!!! I have USA Today on my phone and I haven’t logged in since day ONE!! It’s always just one tap! Disappointing!!!!
Lame
The app is lame. Why are they so prominently displaying old articles? It’s January and the front page of this app is talking about the Oley Fair thriving. LOL. As lame as the physical paper itself.
Thin on stories...
Not impressed with the app. I subscribe to the paper edition (which is extremely thin on stories), but the app has even LESS information than that! You get more information from their Facebook posts!
Worthless
Can’t get to any articles. Constantly bombarded with ad to subscribe and I’m already subscribed. Cancelling as soon as I finish this review. Just awful.
Notifications repeated
The same notification repeatedly sent over 5 times Stop sending the same notifications
The Obituary section
As I scroll down through the obituaries, the page goes blank. I can only read through the B’s then nothing. If I keep scrolling an advertisement pops up but no more obituaries. So frustrating.
Unreadable Small Font
The font size for main and subheadings on the home page is micro-small and not adjustable. Way too small for anyone w reading glasses to see, even with glasses! I can’t read it, but at least they added a Twitter button so I can easily tweet it! (Sarcasm)
Hello
The app is black. Deleted app, re-installed(several times), still dark.suggestions?
I am one of the few real subscribers left...
The app is crap. I get what is left of the real paper version of the Reading Eagle every day. They now charge a fortune for it so all my neighbors, friends and family have dropped it. The carrier has an easy job. They all get their news from Facebook. The free Merchandizer is a thicker paper. The app has so many ads that there is no way to read a story - all stray clicks go to ads for scam products. No viable businesses advertise here, they install cookies to slow and track your devices. It has become as close to useless as it could be. You may get an occasional old headline but that is it. The good local news coverage we once had is gone and the corporation that bought the paper continues to worsen the quality and increase the price. I pay a mint for the real paper for the obits and sudoku and some fluff stuff because I am stubborn and hope that someday a responsible local entity will buy it back.
Miss old app
I wish this would show a facsimile of the actual page, similar to the Newsmemory app, or the page view option that’s only available online
Customer Service very poor
News alert repeating every 30 seconds for over 15 minutes. Called to have a customer service rep look into the problem and all she wanted to do was change my password. Jeez people, get someone who knows what they are doing
Extremely poor!
A headline pops up on my screen, and when I go to look at it online, I cannot find it. The search feature is completely useless. Unless you have the exact headline of the article, it doesn’t find anything for you. Frequently I have to login even though I am a full annual subscriber to the print newspaper. I am now paying over $600 a year, including small tip for carrier, but the paper is not much more than a pamphlet, and wastes that small amount of print space on articles re-printed from the AP etc. We are getting less and less local news. If you ask me why I still subscribe, I really can’t give you a good answer.
No e-edition access
The website takes me to e-books and it doesn’t work. I should be able to get to it through this app- please fix it
Reading Eagle
Your e-edition access stinks and always costs a lot of wasted time—it’s been horrible for years. Not sure why I stay subscribed. Fred Futile
Where’s the paper
Set it up so it looks like a newspaper
