What people like
- Clean interface that is easy to use
- Shows lift wait times and parking info
- Fun social features for tracking friends
What they complain about
- Tracking often fails or loses data
- Drains battery way too fast
- Map view hides open lifts and runs
- Keeps asking you to log in again
Open runs filter
I decided to try Ikon Pass instead of Epic Pass this year, and overall I really like the app. The interface is clean, easy to use, and everything feels well designed. The only major downside for me is that I can’t filter or clearly see open runs and lifts directly on the map. In the Epic app, this feature is very convenient and makes a big difference. With Ikon, I often have to check other websites or the resort’s page to see what’s actually open, which isn’t very convenient. It would be amazing if you could add a filter or map view showing open runs and lifts. That would make the app much more useful on the mountain.
Making more complex then it needs to be
I dont need a 3d map that takes extra clicks to see what i need wheres the 2d map that I can view the whole resort in one click?
Large fonts please!
Like the 3d view. Can’t read lift names though. Small font. And when you zoom in the font goes smaller again! Please make lift names readily available. Thx
Horrible
Clunky, tries to be all things and isn’t. Not geared to how customers want their information.
Janky
Adding a picture (which they make you do) is a mess. And then trying to change it is impossible. Set aside 30mins for this crummy exercise.
Application intéressante!
J’aime pouvoir inviter la famille à participer à une compétition amicale du nombre de jours passés sur les pistes.
No trail maps???
The app seems to have removed the ability to view trail maps at Palisades, at least in the offseason, replacing it with only their awful “3D” map that you could get a better version of in any other all-purpose mapping app. The only thing I used this app for was trail maps. Is this someone’s idea of a joke?
Great app
App gives all the info you need Obviously it doesn’t work if you forget to turn it on It would be nice if it turned itself on as you went thru the first loading gate
Ikon pass app review
The latest UI is complete garbage. The previous UI was bad and you somehow made it worse. There is literally no way to renew my pass on the app. I tap one of the buttons to renew, then choose the pass, and I go to some weird renew page that’s trying to sell me on the pass. Bro! I already said I wanted it, why are you trying to sell me it!? Then I’m somehow on step 1 of 5 and there’s no way to continue from there. I’m in the app game, and the app product, design, and development team for this app should be embarrassed.
Meh
It’s a shame. I get why they combined all the resort apps into one. But there was so much more local flavor to the apps when they were independent. Now I just stick to Slopes for tracking my skiing and let it connect back to IKON to record my stats for the local stuff and home bragging rights.
Amazing
Very good , app and pass
Snow report is trash
They ruined the weather forecasting on the squaw app, these people in charge are absolute clowns
Metric?
The App is great and gives good info. However, the information is given in Miles per hour, Miles and Feet. Could you please add an option of the metric system so that we can get the stats in km/h, km and metres. You could also add an option for a 24-hour clock format.
No way to opt out of notification spam
No ikon I already paid you $1000s, do not continue to pummel me with advertisements. Insulting.
Ski App - But Defaults to Non-Ski Map? 🥴
App is ok, it doesnt seem to want to save favorite mountains. Biggest complaint is it always defaults to the map of the resort which is NOT the trail map. Can’t think of a reason why this would be except Alterra wanting everyone to know where to buy expensive F&B. Would really like to see this change to default to trail map.
IKON is the best
We love our IKON passes. So far we had used it in Eastern Canada but we’re venturing out west in the Canadian and US Rockies this year. Thank you for life defining moments.
Price Increases are Crazy
Pass goes up every year and they reduce your renewal discounts every year. Used to be $100 now it’s $25…
Tracking is buggy
Many times I have started the day with tracking on only to find mid day that it failed to collect any stats. Only fix seems to be force quit app and restart.
Meh - has gotten worse
This app used to be so perfect. Maybe two years ago was the peak? This year is the worst it’s been. Generally not a helpful app anymore other than friend tracking. It’s no longer intuitive. It’s clunky and hard to figure out. I would like to easily access the snow report, maps, and other relevant info for a ski mountain but I feel like the stuff is either not there anymore or buried and super hard to find. Disappointing:/
Pour les voyageurs
Pas capable de se fixer?…aussi bien se promener et visiter
Don’t expect much
Where do I start…. What a frustrating app! I had it open from a day earlier, and said it was still tracking, but it wasn’t. Lost an entire day of stats. Need to blow away the app. Each night. And be prepared to login again each time, particularly frustrating when you’re all geared up and it won’t recognize your face. And don’t get me started when it won’t start tracking because you’re ‘ not at a resort”, but when you get there (and it knows you are) it doesn’t automatically start tracking !! Much better blood pressure using Strava.
Unreliable
Tracking works only when the app feels like it. About 1 day out of 4 it decides I’m not “authorized” to track. And before you ask, my iPhone is always up to date. The app is (still) simply not good enough for prime time.
Do better
The app was never perfect and that’s okay. This season with the new updates it sucks. I minored in graphic design an I can’t figure out how to stop tracking let alone navigate the app. You have good data but get someone who can build your UI
Thank you
Finally available on the Canadian AppStore
Have to update the app almost every day
Title says it all. Fix it, Ikon
What are they doing?
This app got significantly worse for the 2025-2026 season. The tracking barely ever works and it is way more complicated to track with a group - to the point where I never track on Ikon anymore. The layout is more difficult to navigate and I always get thrown error messages. Additionally, I can never select resorts in my wallet so I can’t use my mountain credits. These frauds gave us mountain “credits” because we paid an insane amount for ski passes for a bad season (one would argue it’s still insanely high for a good season) and you can’t even use the credits. I don’t know what type of product owner they assigned this app revamp but my goodness this rollout was bad. Many peers of mine agree - the app has gotten significantly worse.
Unable to add favorites
Since the latest update, adding favorites doesn’t stick after you close and reopen the app
I love it
Ikon pass is the best, god bless you lol
Whats going on with this app?
And why do i have to keep updating my app everyday?
Significant Downgrade
Replaced the palisades app, which provided all the same features without tons of ads and an absolutely useless tracking system. Use slopes for tracking. Ikon is only useful for monitoring which lifts are open. The lift wait times are basically useless as well.
Consumes way too much battery!
Nice app with lots of cool features, but it consumes way too much power, and it won’t run in Low Power mode. I can’t even run the app for a full day without recharging. Consumes 6 times as much power as my other ski tracker.
Horrible resets tracking
Horrible app
Tracking of invited friends does not work
loaded this primarily as replacement to outdated app. this new app offers nice maps etc, bit tracking of a group (invited family members) via link, doesn't work, even though they all had downloaded the app.
Good, but not as good as the previous Palisades app
On the plus side, this app has all the key information skiers need, including which lifts are open and scheduled, trails open and closed, parking info, and even lift wait times, although that last info is oddly hard to find as it's only showed on the map in Trails mode, which is not the default. The map in the default Village mode is useless to me. Only key info that's missing is the 2-week weather outlook, which was very useful to plan my next ski trip. A very annoying feature is that it prompts for user ID and password every week, and there's no automatic completion, so you need to keep those handy. The old app was much better in that it prompted for those rarely. In short, it's a good app but a significant step down from the older Palisades app we had until last year, and all other skiers I've talked to have told me the same.
What did you guys do?
I was convinced I had no internet access until I read the reviews. Nothing works. No maps at mammoth and no tracking?
The Opportunity To Be So Cool
So buggy you’d think ChatGPT vibecoded it
Kinda Sucks
I’ve come to the conclusion that the Ikon Pass app kind of sucks. I was forced to move to this app versus the individual resort apps which makes sense. But I think the developers under delivered on this one. Just take a few minutes and check out the OnTheSnow app and you’ll see the difference. The at-a-glance view on Ikon doesn’t really give you the stuff you want to see at a glance such as what is the base depth, and a quick summary of the current conditions plus a quick forecast of any snow to come in the coming week. OnTheSnow does a better job at this. I’d also like quick links to view the cams and photos so within under a minute, I can get a very good sense of what is going on with the conditions on the mountain. I also wished every resort would have a lead ski patrol weather hound who could post at least a paragraph daily about what’s going on condition wise on the mountain and what is likely to come. The developer should the Surfline app for inspiration. A pinpoint map of every resort globally that I could scroll across and click to view would be cool too. I think the potential is there, but currently this app is under delivering, especially for Ikon Pass holders with the annual investment we make that should easily fund a best in class app.

Favorites not working
Reporting bug in app, that the favorites don’t save. I thought that it was because I added one destination that it removed all the others and you had to select all at once (which I thought was a poor user experience), but I was wrong, the favorites just don’t save. Also the chat bot for the app is extremely weak.
Room for improvement
Fun app. Tracks some fun stats. Would be cool if app could alert you when you at a Ikon destination to turn on tracking, as I forget from time to time. Have run into some bugs where data is lost when stopping and restarting tracking. Also would be good to be able to add and track minor family members.
