Favorite App
I’ve been using this app for several months now and absolutely love it. The UI is great. I was looking for an app to help me actually help get off being on the phone so much, and that’s happened. The little nudges are great and not annoying. I had been wanting a way to track my time on different projects, so that’s an added bonus. Right after a break, it’ll show that time as on phone usage, but it does correct it after a little while, so a bit of patience is needed. My only request to enhance the app is a space to make a personal note after a session, that way I could mark what I spent the time doing, like which book I was reading for example, or what type of meditation I was doing, since I don’t like to have too many major categories, or which business project I was working on. And of course, a running list of those notes with the time log under each category. It would be a wonderful enhancement and really take this app over the top!
Can’t delete?!?!?
So, I got this app to limit my screen time and after a while it got annoying. Multiple notifications even if I’m checking messages or emails, completely cut off from anything you accidentally decided to add on the ‘block schedule’, requires a screen time passcode to delete (I don’t know mine), and it’s extremely difficult to navigate the app. Just don’t get this app and try something else. Right idea. Wrong execution.
Looks Good, worth the price
For some reason It can't block Facebook in browser... otherwise everything is great. also when I have opened google maps it still counts as screentime maybe you should be able to skip screentimes from total for specific apps

Pomodoro only
Why does a pomodoro timer need a location? I just want the timer and blocking features. And, can't you make the break sessions more adjustable, especially when people are doing 50+ minute sessions?
Great app but family sharing doesn’t function as advertised
Super good user interface, delightful notifications. I love this app for solo use, but I'm going to be moving to a platform that actually supports family sharing. This application says it does, but I found no way to enable this. When I reached out to the developers on their contact page, I heard nothing back. I have a lifetime pro license.
Nice concept but some bugs
Nice concept but some bugs. The main one I’m encountering is on their time since last pick up widget. The timer doesn’t reset each time I pick up and unlock and use my apps. It only resets when I open my offscreen app, despite the fact that I’ve allowed it to do background app refresh and am not in low power mode.

It’s a great app it has fun cute quotes when you try to play games after your screen time it’s really user friendly and you don’t have to put in a bunch of passwords and emails but the app only counts the time I spend on the app not games like I wanted it to do

Only seems to track time when the app is open
I like the look of it, but it only seems to really work when the app is open. I don’t want to always have the app open for my screentime to be tracked. Also, it REQUIRES your location to work. This is the first screentime app I’ve come across that requires your location, so I find that a bit strange and sketchy.
Has good features but inconsistent
I really liked this app when I first got it, and paid for premium so that I can use the OFF time feature that lets you block apps. Its really helped me keep track of how long I’m on my phone and gives reminders when I’ve been on for a long interval. However, the OFF time feature has not been working in weeks. It deleted my off time set up and every time I set back up again, within a day my settings are deleted once again, so no apps are blocked. When the off time set up isn’t deleted, there’s a 50/50 chance that it will actually work and block my apps, so the feature that I paid for is essentially useless. If they fixed this the app would be pretty perfect for me.
Great app, small question of wake up time
This app has been great for managing my screen time, and i’m glad that it blocks social media instead of the apple built in version of “15 more minutes?” that keeps me clicking for more time My only trouble is i can’t seem to figure out a way to tell the app that my work schedule has me going in at 3:30am, and is instead convinced i’m a night owl that can’t stop breaking a nightly phone opening habit. Is there any way to tell the app a bed time AND a wake up time? i shut sleep mode off like suggested but still nothing.
Can’t cancel subscription. Scammy app
This app does not have a cancel subscription button and doesn’t show up in my App Store’s list of subscriptions. Please help me cancel it, this app just isn’t for me. I think the app is perfectly fine but why is there no cancel subscription button.

Bugged all to hell
This app was great until it wasn’t.: the app is constantly deleting my schedules and logging itself out so it’s not tracking my screen time. It used to work fine but now it seems there’s a new bug every time I try to use the app

FYI you need to keep this app running the whole time or it willpause ~ why would anyone want to do that?? Good product otherwise but I cancelled the subscription within one day. I really wanted to like this app, bummer
Cured my scroll addiction in one day
I’ve been phone addicted forever but really lost control during pregnancy. Once my baby was born, I needed to get off reddit/social media for my mental health and to focus on my kid, but I was completely unable. I kept trying to use the native apple app limits, but being able to turn them off so easily made them useless to me. Offscreen killed my addiction in a DAY. Day one, I kept trying to open the apps I blocked. Day two, I forgot to check them during the hours I said they were okay. I love this app.
Screen blocking feature not working
I bought the year long subscription specifically to be able to block specific apps after a certain time. This feature is not working on my table!!! I’m really upset and would like a refund.

Offscreen has helped me reduce my screentime significantly and i love the focus features, i would really love it if they would add the pomodoro timer as a widget too, so i can just tap on it and the timer starts for focus:)
Used to be great!
This app helped me curb my phone usage and was a favorite for years. I have the Lifetime membership. Now it’s so buggy — it’ll delete all my schedules overnight but still block access to my apps. No user error as I’ve used it correctly for years. iOS and app updated, so not that. Emails unanswered. Sad when an app actually brings value, only to be mucked up by the devs!
Cool features but wish I could have some apps not count towards the tracker
I play Spotify while I’m workin, so it says I’ve been on my phone ten hours a day when that’s not accurate at all. Which we could select apps that “don’t count”

It really helps me to control my screen time addition. I have some suggestions. Some apps are critical for me like regular text messages and some banking. I dont need to see them but if there are notifications, i want to see them. In my offtime, i unselected messages app, but still i see it as locked by offscreen.
Good until a month ago — broken by iOS update?
I realized Apple’s native screentime app is trash so i wanted something that more accurately showed my iphone usage. Offscreen seemed to work pretty well through august, but my stats for october are mostly blank because the app isn’t starting up properly. Instead of starting up on its own and running in the background, I’m getting this notification: “⏸️ Tracking Paused! Tracking has been paused, tap to resume.” I have most notifications turned off and don’t check notifications that regularly, the result is basically none of my screentime is actually getting tracked. :/ I’m not going to remember to / don’t want to remember to turn on an app like this everyday, so it’s kinda junk to me now.
Screen time counter not working properly
I enjoy the app and want to give it a better score but I am constantly losing track off my screen time because the timer keeps setting itself back or forward even when I make sure to keep the app open in the back ground and showing incredibly inaccurate screen time.

I could say so many great things about this app. Ive used many app/website blockers and this is my favorite one. I’ve been using it for a while now and it’s incredibly user friendly. I personally use it to block all work related apps at the end of my workday. Every time I use the app I always say, “thank goodness for OffScreen. I need to write a review” then I never do. But that changes today!!! Thank you OffScreen! You help me maintain my sanity at the end of crazy workdays.
IT IS A VIRUS (Maybe)
It secretly installs a Chinese app in your iCloud. Go to iCloud settings and delete. I had the Chinese file a year after deleting the app. Other people have also had this problem. The developer always responds by saying that they never install programs without consent. Then why did I get malware in iCloud? Update: After doing research, it most likely isn’t malware. It just is how the storage is labeled. Just delete the iCloud storage file, and keep using offscreen cautiously.

A bunch of UX inconsistencies and spelling mistakes in the quotes and stuff. Feels a bit amateur. Idk how much the app impacts battery life. But decent overall.

I like it, but long-standing bugs are annoying
I’ve been using this app for over a year and I pay for the pro version. Overall, it has helped me to reduce my social media usage, which was my original goal. The price point is quite reasonable. Where it needs work: - as another review a few months ago mentions, it regularly just deletes your off time settings, and you have to take a few minutes to reconfigure the whole app. - it doesn’t effectively block websites in my phone browser, even though they’re on my block list. - it’s quite easy to override. This is really my own fault, but I need more help saving myself from myself.
Needs to work on MacBook
This is SUCH a GREAT app! I love it - it has saved so much of my time , and helped me track my progress. I just wish it would work on my MacBook ! I request the developers to make it compatible for Mac so that synchronisation is seamless!

Used to be amazing, not anymore
Sadly, this app has been my favorite for couple of years, but now the off time is not working automatically. I have to go manually on it, switch off then on again to work and same when it ends. I have sent couple of emails for support but I got no response. I am subscribed to the pro version
Useful but has issues
I’ve had this app for about a week and a half now. It had a lot of cool features that I enjoy, but the times and information have been obviously off by a long shot. The background information has not been updating even through I checked my setting multiple times to make sure I allowed them to. The time only goes on while I’m on the app. Today I was on my phone for about an hour and a half when I woke up, that was at around 6:30 AM, but now it’s 9:30 and the time barely started for me. This almost makes the app useless because that means the restrictions I set myself won’t go off when they should.

Some features don’t seem to work
This seems good, however I am not able to block specific websites on Safari. Even though the option is selected, it doesn’t seem to work. Second, why do you need location permission at all times, that’s a serious privacy concern.

Honestly, this app only starts logging your screen time, and it makes no sense to get this app. It’s a good app tho, but just screen time (The automated apple one) works just as well, if not better.

Forced to pay before trying
Any app that requires payment or choosing payment plan before giving me a chance to try automatically deserves the lowest rating. I should be able to try the app first, and if I like it, I’ll pay for it and not the other way around.
