App crashed and lost ALL my progress
Don’t wait waste your time or else you’ll lose everything if the app crashes. I lost all my progress and it doesn’t save your progress accurately, super buggy. I’m very disappointed.
Amazing game but a few things
I love this game a lot but I only gave it four stars because of a few things. One: ad coupons These are nearly impossible to get, and the only way is to buy them from the shop. I’m one of those people who would never spend money on games. It would be great if you could implement another method to get ad coupons that doesn’t require money. Or, you could give players an option to just watch the ad even if they have ad coupons. Two: PENGUINS The whole point of the game is to expand your island and get more penguins. However, special event penguins are nearly impossible to get once the event is over. There is a way to get them, but you have to wait a year to buy them with gems in the shop. Even then, the penguins you can only get from buying the event pass are still not available unless you spend money. Like I mentioned before, I don’t spend money on games. Please make a way where you can get penguins even after the event is over and after it comes again the next year. For example, special event penguins from 2022 are now impossible to get. Please make a way THAT DOESN’T REQUIRE MONEY to get them again. And for the penguins that are exclusive to the event pass, please make a way to get them without spending money. To sum my review up, there are two main complaints I have. First, make another way to get ad coupons that doesn’t require money. Or, give players an option to watch the add even if they have ad coupons. Second, I want to be able to get old special event penguins that are no longer available (without having to pay). Also, I want a way (that doesn’t require money) to get special event penguins that can only be obtained by buying the event pass. I don’t want to pay money for everything. This game shouldn’t be a pay to win game. Overall, I love this game a lot. The penguins are cute and it’s really fun. Please just consider my suggestions. Thank you a lot for your time.
Would be great if progress wasn’t obviously gated
Great artstyle, great customisation, fun progression, that is, untill you get to a point in the game where it would take you so ridiculously long to earn the money for the next one (ive been playing on and off for 5 years and still havent got the upgrade that ive needed since a couple months after i first started playing) making it quite clear the game wants me to buy something to speed things up and get it now, which i most likely would considering how good this game is otherwise, but i cant trust it wont just do the same thing to me again. Would rather it just say “free game progression ends here” then i probably would just buy it but the way it is now just feels like its obviously trying to trick you out of your money. Really wish that wasnt the case because this game would be so cool otherwise. I wouldnt need any other games on my phone… ohwell i guess.
Relaxing Game Interrupted Constantly
This game has beautiful graphics and a very relaxing atmosphere, which makes it enjoyable to play when you want something calm and low stress. The overall design and visual style are clearly well thought out and that part of the experience is genuinely great. Unfortunately the number of ads really takes away from the gameplay. There are frequent ad based mechanics and progression often feels tied to watching ads rather than actually playing. On top of that many of the ads are unusually long or feel strange and out of place which makes the experience even more frustrating and interrupts the relaxing flow the game is trying to create. A good solution would be to offer an affordable monthly subscription (for example around $10) that removes ads and eliminates ad dependent features. This would still allow the developers to earn income while giving players a smoother and more enjoyable experience. I would happily pay that instead of the ads and micro transactions. Another option could be bringing the game to Apple Arcade. The relaxing style of the game would fit perfectly where players can fully enjoy it without constant interruptions. Overall the game has strong potential because of its visuals and calming vibe but reducing the reliance on long and excessive ads would make a huge difference.

Beautiful, but the game plays you
Penguin Isle is visually beautiful and calming. The graphics, aesthetic, and sound design are excellent: from the penguin noises to the mellow music and splashing. The variety of penguins and Arctic animals adds charm and makes the island feel alive. Unfortunately, progression is overwhelmingly ad-driven. After a short time, it stops feeling like you’re playing a game and starts feeling like the game is playing you. Advancement depends on watching way too many ads, many of which are incredibly unpleasant and strange, completely breaking the relaxing atmosphere. Once the novelty wears off, you’re stuck in the same loop: watch ads, unlock a small upgrade, repeat. What should be relaxing turns into a rat race and a waste of time. Great presentation, but the aggressive ad model and the games many redundancies ruins the experience of “playing” a game
Repetitive and too many IAP
I love the concept of this game a lot and have dedicated a lot of time (mainly watching ads to progress otherwise it would take you a very long time). I actually think this game would collab with Sky COTL very well. Just disappointed with the lack of things to do if you don’t want to purchase things within the app and it bugs me that there is always a notification for the option to BUY gems etc. it’s not very user friendly in the sense you’re making us focused on buying. I understand why but if there was more variety to this game — I’d love it. Unfortunately it’s a very repetitive game with nothing to do other than either wait days to progress or…well nothing. It’s sad you can have a penguin character but all it can do is collect items (which takes ages). Also sad that the skins for the areas and buy only. I think expanding this game to multiplayer / more personalised would be amazing and something I’d maybe invest towards but right now it’s very lack lustre.

I love this game. It was perfect for me when I was suffering panic attacks for a while. I bought every special penguin. Completed every pass. But then that phone died. Couldn’t recover that account. Tried everything. Lost all that time and money.

Super cute, but grubby after a while
After about a week, progress is difficult unless you’re willing to pay. Once you unlock a later isle it is completely impossible to upgrade unless you’re willing to put in weeks per isle. Very fun until whale island. Then perhaps time to quit.
Bring back research!!
Please bring back research!! I truly enjoyed this game and loved all the little penguins. But now I’m at the point of about to delete it because I feel stagnate in where I am. I can’t get enough gold to get the rollercoaster and now that research is gone, it just is making the game drag by.
Nice
The game is good and it reminds me of AbyssRium Pole (RIP) but I recommend you should do a daily streak with rewards like gems or new penguins, decorations, or creatures. I really love this game and it’s very similar to other cool games like Forest island or AbyssRium World.

Great game but one problem
I love this game. It’s so great. There’s a lot of things to do and I like the style but the reason it’s not five stars is if you get a new phone it’s hard to get your progress back I think you should add an account and password so that when you re-download it you just put in the password and it loads your safe file great game still👍👍👍
Adorable penguins will deceive you into watching ads
At first, this seems like a great game where you build an island of penguins. BUT THEN, as new habitats get more and more expensive, your penguins can’t produce enough gold. The way to get around this are research quests which give you upgrades for completing tasks, including treasure ship summoning, where you watch an ad to get gold. So in order to play the game, you must watch ads. I reached a point where I was watching more ads than playing the game. And then I realized, the gameplay IS watching ads. The penguins have deceived you.

Very calming
Its a calming fun game where you can evolve your penguins and play highly recommended!
No actual upgrade in years!
It started good, but it has not had any real upgrade for years! Now every upgrade is just 1 new penguin, and you pay $4 for the other. What happened to the new habitats and REAL improvements? Even just fix the issue with the “new” generic decorations in “new” habitat creation couldn’t be picked up from YEARS AGO. The performance of the game is really bad. It glitches sometimes and it heats up your phone!
Great but…..
I just started playing and I’m enjoying my time playing this game, I love how they included different kinds of penguins and it’s so unique how you make your own penguin town! Sadly it takes time and you need some money if you want to finish fast
Adverts are ruining this at present
This game is lovely. The penguins are lovely, the updates are lovely and the music and everything is joy - more games like this would make the world a better place. However, at the moment the game is pretty much broken. You have the option to watch adverts for extra rewards. The rewards are massive, and well worth watching but at the moment, despite having the latest version and the latest iOS every advert just makes the screen go blank, and after a while kicks you out the app. It is so frustrating - I am happy to watch adverts to help fund what is a lovely game but it is at the point where I am considering uninstalling it altogether. A real shame - there are many games where the ads that support it work fine - but this one needs to work with a new company I think.
Just a remark on flavor
With so many of these games being mass produced, the flavor of an individual game can make or break it for me. This game really missed an easy mark in making the currency gold instead of fish. If this penguin society ran on fish as a currency, the immersive quality would be so much greater for me.
I miss my old penguin isle so much
I switched from an android phone to an iPhone years ago and was devastated when I learned I had to start over. It’s taken me years to actually get back on and start again. I love going to visit my old isle though, at least I know it’s there if I ever get an android phone again. I cannot wait for events with fireworks or filters or Halloween items! Thank you for creating such an enjoyable game. One thing I wish; that there was a cheaper option to skip ads. Ads are technically by choice incase anyone is wondering.
I can’t anymore
I’ve played for 5 years. Started out on Android and switched to Apple. I love penguins. I have all the habitats and have maxed out the hearts on several habitats. But now there and no real updates, same process just slightly different penguin. Also, most of the ads are broken. I let the ad play but cannot exit out of the ad, so I have to completely swipe out of the game. It’s just frustrating and sad at this point.
my favourite game
Edit- The issues with the game not giving offline rewards resolved itself. However I can’t give five stars as I feel the issue with the support website I mention below really needs looking into at as this game is suitable for young users. This was my favourite game. But recently all offline rewards have stopped and no items get deposited in the chest while offline, making progress almost impossible. I was going to email support but when I went to app support through the App Store I was directed to a dodgy website with p**nography pop ups.

I’ve been trying to unlock the roller coaster for months now but I can’t get my coins beyond 1.97cr/sec. It’s a lovely game but frustrating. I contacted the developer but only got a sarcastic response back.

Okay for first 5 years.. then impossible to advance in the Penguin world
Been a dedicated player for 5 years, and feel compelled to write a review. Here's the good: beautifully created, the penguins are adorable and creative! I love the design, the different themes, and the background music is quite relaxing. Here's the bad: Once you have reached a certain "size" in your penguin world, It's absolutely impossible to advance to have enough gold to get "Danger Shore" level. It's impossible to expand your capacity to actually place the created items (trees, etc). One simply continues to purchase "packages" for whatever theme is available to try to earn enough gold to reach the next level. For example: I Stopped playing for a year, after seeing the only way to continue to raise enough gold to reach the next level was to keep purchasing the in game packages. Initially needed to reach the "az" level, 1 year later there's no improvement - only to see the required gold is now "37.17ba". So today, I used a 7 day gold production ticket, 12 - 1 hour production coins, one 6 hour. I only reached 22.12ba. Next, having to "upgrade" my penguins so they will actually do work, it brought my gold down to 7.78az. Wth? What a waste. Incredibly frustrating. Overall the game is initially wonderful! But I'm sad to say, after 3-4 years, it's really only a creative way to throw away money.

Needs more customization
First off, game is super but it does get very hard to progress and takes a lot of time. Second, there should be more customization like island skins, easier to get penguin skins, and being able to unlock habitat skins without having to pay 8$

Data Mining in new update
It took a solid 5 minutes to un-select all the ad partners that popped up in the ‘new update’… I’ve been a solid supporter of devs making money for this game over 4 years, slowly buying almost every event package and habitat skin. Devs gotta eat… … but this new update makes this game potentially one of the worst data miners on your phone. Thankfully I live somewhere with data protection laws so I could reject permissions, but I shouldn’t have had to. Habby, what are you doing? This peaceful little game used to be wonderful.

i really love this game because its very relaxing and suuuuper cute and honestly the thought and design that goes into everything is so cute and i love it but i feel like it could have more things to do because there isnt much to do but apart from that its a fun progression game where you will eventually get better and better and i really recommend it if you need a cute app that you can tap on every few hours to check in on your little gang of penguins ❤️ like you can really tell that the developers put time and thought into all the designs and everything but i feel like if there was more things to do such as maybe more minigames and more things to make your penguins do i would give it 5 stars 🌟
Recent updates are ruining this game
LATEST UPDATE: Developer has stopped releasing Research Tiers and then even Quests, making it all but impossible to progress any further. UPDATE: Developer says they’ve moved from too much reliance on Fishing Spot habitat upgrades but that’s deceptive as the frequency and size of habitat level targets goes FAR beyond what was ever expected for any one habitat. An update since my review hasn’t addressed this, if the next doesn’t I am done! A few weeks ago an update replaced my part completed quest with one requiring thousands of habitat upgrades. Since then every two to three quests I have to achieve hundreds more habitat upgrades, leaving little opportunity to spend on anything else if I want to complete any research.
Fix the scaling
I get its a simple straightforward game and it shouldnt be done in 2 weeks, but ive been stuck on trying to get whales nest for over a week, after spending no longer than 2 days for all tbe others before. Its a bit aggravating.
Love it so much but…
Best game I’ve had in a while, it can entertain you for hours (and take it by a 12 yr old adhd kid lol) BUT, I have 2 ideas that might make the day bettah. First, take the ads off. I can be enjoying my game is peace and then I get a stupid ad (sowi but it’s true) Second, if possible, make it so you can play offline. I try to play offline but it always kicks me out. very good game but for some reason after i unlocked the seagull nest, a small icon came up that was a joystick, thinking it was a small minigame i clicked on it, pressed start and it erased all of my progress that i had made that day, around an hour of playing, long day can someone pls fix
Spoiled by recent greed
This used to be a 5 star game where in-app purchases didn't exclude you from too many features or if you were willing to pay it would only average about nine quid every two/three months. In the last eight months or so the developers have gotten extremely greedy and are flooding the game with purchasable features and reducing the free features massively, the latest update is the worst offender of the lot. The in-app purchases used to feel like a fair sum to chip in for all the free content but now it's disgusting.
Amazing game, but one fatal flaw…
please add a way to completely reset your save, I used to have a bug where I couldn’t place down constructions. I wrongly then quit the game, several years ago. Adding a way to reset will give some players the ability to replay the game if they are connected to an app, such as the game centre. Thank you for reading!!
