Awful Season 2 Update
I wrote and submitted this review before but for some reason it was never published? Weird. Anyway, beware of this game. It makes excuses for SA and completely brushes it under the rug like it’s nothing. It happens on June’s route and his ex-girlfriend tried to SA him and the excuse is that she was going through an identity crisis. Ab*se of any kind is NOT okay no matter what reason whether it be mental health issues/identity issues or whatever else and the fact that this game tries to make excuses for it is sickening. June himself was uncomfortable with her but at the end of the route he's fine with her and even becomes friends with her in one of the epilogues. And everyone else seems to brush it underneath the rug, including some of the choices you can say nice things about her despite knowing what she did. It's disgusting and what's worse is that there are NO consequences to her crime and the other person who helped her. No jail time, nothing, just a sorry excuse for an apology that including blaming June for "letting" her bully him while they dated when they were younger (he was timid and sickly when they dated but it was obvious by his reactions that he didn't like it). I’m beyond disgusted and that whole route (Henri’s too) was a waste of time. The game was fine at first with Teo and Harry but this? No.
Great game but there’s a problem
I was on the 4th day and the game got updated I’m not sure if this is normal but for some reason it reset me to day 1.

sorry but I just can’t get into this game with having to wait sometimes 5 to 20 minutes between text messages. that is absurd. the storylines seem kind of cute but i can never really get that into it because of the ridiculous ways the text conversations are played out. such a disappointment after mysme.
Good-ish game with two big problem
Not a bad game at all I was honestly expecting something worse going in given the reviews I've read but it's actually a pretty decent experience I've played June's route and I thought it was pretty good I really like the concept of like a long route in otome game's so I thought that was fun more content is always a good thing in my opinion. Idk about the other routes but for June's I thought the story was pretty good and at the end I really enjoyed the video showing like the collage of them working on the art and play testing and stuff. But I would say there was a few things that threw me off. The two biggest issues I have with this game are the english translation problem and the pay for choices thing. In a multi choice game I find it utterly ridiculous that choices are paywalled. Otome games like these are litterly multi choice so you're litterly paywalling the main feature of the game like that. People complained alot about how greedy this game was but honestly I don't see that big a problem with anything else they're paywalling BESIDES THE MAIN FEATURE. I think it would vastly improve the games quality if they just removed that one thing. Everything else you have to spend batteries on makes sense to me, like the profile picture thing and calls and stuff like that those all make sense. Just the making you spend batteries to choose what message to send it horrendously greedy and stupid in my opinion. I promise people will still purchase batteries for all the other features they can spend it on like goodness. I hate to compare but just for reference sake in this one aspect ; I know very well people were throwing their money at Mystic Messenger for hour glasses back in the day and that game didn't paywall the reply feature. Anyways though another issue I've run into is poor translation. I'm not sure how they translated the game but they should definitely re-review the translations. In the messages I, You and they were mixed up alot, like for example when mc would be talking about June instead of saying "you" or "him" when talking about him, the messages would read "I" and "me" wich confused me multiple times because then it seems like we were talking about ourselves. And if I'm remembering correctly June would do the same thing when talking about MC or other characters and even Piu Piu did it a couple of times. It was a little immersion breaking but besides that I didn't notice any other big translation errors. Besides those two things I thought the game was fun, I adore the art style for June and Henri and thought the art was pretty for those two (Not so much Harry and Teo's art style but I'm not gonna get into that since that can be chalked up to personal preference with finding that style ugly) At the end of June's route they hint that Minha and K downloaded the ssum so my main wish for the future is that they actually add routes for those two (Specifically Minha I really have to praise her character I LOVE her she's one of the best female characters I've come across in an otome game and I really hope they follow through with the hinting and make her romance able!!) MAKE MINHA AN OPTION PLEASE
Fell in love, with the game ;)
This has honestly been a great game. So engaging and I look forward to playing each day for each little piece. My only wish is they update with a new character to keep the fun going. I know the community would LOVE that. And of, course maybe extend some of the stories 👀
I can’t stand the disrespect !
I liked the app before and i was one of the first to download it two years ago because i loved mystic messenger and and kept playing it for Harry, but with the recent update with the two new routes the game is going downhill. I can tolerate the bad storylines because i love the characters, but what I CANNOT TOLERATE is your audacity to disrespect a whole religion and community. Im really disappointed!
Pi planet is seriously getting on my nerves
The app is great but Pi planet is set up all wrong. I’ve only gotten one of the gorgeous images 1 time and I’ve spun the pie 131 times. Why is it so hard to get a picture when they must be so time consuming to make? Don’t y’all want to share and not gate keep? It is immensely frustrating when I’m waiting and waiting to even have the option to get a pretty picture and then miss it every time. Please change this or at least give an option to get the photos you missed some other way. I’m sure there is a better way to do this.
App Deleted My Progress
I was a few weeks into Harry’s route when the app reset my progress to the beginning. It did not find my email or Apple account, so I could not recover my progress. I just didn’t have the motivation to redo everything. :/
Great concept poor execution
I think what they tried to do here is really creative. However there are a lot of issues with it. 1. The locking of parts of daily chats behind a paywall. This is SO BAD. Pictures, parts of chats, and even responses will be greyed out or unavailable if you don’t pay. 2. MC is not really part of the games world. You as a player are more of an observer and do not have your own story line. For a “romance” game it’s an odd choice. You are more like the MLs virtual advisor/therapist lol So frustrating because it could have been a really groundbreaking game.

I really love the concept that they get to be a part of my routine. I like Henri a lot so if possible, please give him more days. 30 days if not enough TT_TT
This Is Not A Romance
I love Cheritz and their previous games, but this..? I can’t believe I invested so much time and energy to an app only to get an ending that was nothing near a happy one. Listen, when you mark something as romance, it means a happy ever after or a happy for now. For those reading this review, I did get the good ending, however the epilogue was trash—everything was absolutely garbage. I swear this was just the most terribly created game by Cheritz. I despise any game that slaps “romance” into it without looking into what the genre means. If it states in the beginning that it has “romance elements” that is different. Don’t ever put in your game’s description that this is a romance. I’ve never given a bad review for a game company that I loved so much—but this was absolutely unreal… I’m sorry Cheritz, but this was not worth the money, time, or even romance. For everything to become this ****** up in the end, even with the good ending.

ok LOVE the game and the idea of it, but i actually hate the endings so much???? Especially for Henri, it feels incomplete and it's so short for what... I feel like they rushed the endings... I love that it's a causual game I can check in a few times a day to see pretty guys and smile, and the storyline is somewhat interesting, but idk i feel sad. i feel like theyve kinda given up on the game as the routes are getting shorter and worse, but i hope they add more content. i started with mystic messenger and i feel in love, so i was really excited to see they came out with a new game. after a while, i stopped playing and eventually returned after a year/2 yrs later. it might ruin the aesthetics of the game, but i wish we meet the characters at some point and cross worlds at the endings or smth. overall, its great until the end...

as much as I love mysmes and had hope this would be a good game as well, it is NOT. the storyline is decent, though i have only done a bit of june and henris routes (ive only really been playing the game for 3 days..) they are both adequate. HOWEVER the gameplay is ATROCIOUS. first of all, its an obvious cash grab. all of the time you have to wait during chats is just there so they can make you pay money to skip past it, the subscriptions are literally meant to be paid for DAILY (i will expand on this later on), theres a "private" account that you have to buy a subscription to see, and you have to pay to change your daily schedule. its actually insane how much this game BEGS for your money. they literally have little ads that popup sometimes after chats that beg you for money. secondly, they added so many things to the game THAT DO NOT NEED TO BE IN IT. its so clunky. it should really all be seprate games. i get the forbidden lab stuff for the most part, since romance and emotions do go together. however, the creatures (which you can purchase.) are just completely out of place and the emotion lab thing is confusing and unnecessary. overall, im sure these unessacary features are just in the game to give you more things to pay for. third, its just poorly translated in some areas. the dialouge is usually clunky, at least in my opinion. some things also don't really come out well in translation in my experience. now, onto specifically just the subscriptions. all of them have the specific odd feature where you have to pay for them daily. while it is only a few cents a day, and it is somewhat reasonable pricing, it is super sketchy. firstly, you have the most basic subscription, piu-piu plus. this one costs 25 cents a day, which comes out to $7.75 a month and $91.25 a year. overall, it provides minor improvements to issues/inconveniences that shouldnt even be part of the game in the first place. the first benefit is that it allows you to see photos and messages (from the auto transcription feature) that they lock behind a pay wall (which you also get with the higher level subscriptions, therefore i will not mention it while explaining the other two subscription levels), it comes with 40 mini secondary batteries (which allow you to use special replies, make calls, get immediate replies, jump to the next time slot, and get calls sooner), the third benefit is that they remove ads (also a feature for the other levels), and the fourth benefit is that it increases your ssumeones typing speed. next, the rainbow evolution package. this costs 0.51 cents a day, which comes out to $15.81 a month and $186.15 a year. firstly, it allows you to choose special replies, make calls, and download images. secondly, you get 90 secondary batteries each day which allow you to jump to the next time slot, get quicker replies, and get immediate calls. thirdly, you get a maximum of 11 secondary batteries after each chat. fourth, you get access to the afformentioned private account (you also get this in the next level). fifthly, your forbidden lab incubating time is increased by 30%, you get a maximum of 90 frequencies + emotions, and you get to post 2 answers to the daily study and give support 15 times. and sixth, you get a larger incubator to accommodate for one more creature (4 creatures total). finally, the aurora evolution package. it costs 64 cents per day, which comes out to $19.84 a month and $233.6 a year. this is also the highest subscription level. for the most part its similar to the rainbow evolution package, the improvements being 14 more secondary batteries a day, 7 more secondary batteries after chats, 20% quicker incubating time, 30 more frequencies, you can give support 5 more times, and room for one more creature (5 creatures total) in the incubator. the only new feature not in the other levels is that you get an upgraded incubating bot for the emotion lab. overall, the subscriptions are KIND OF fairly priced. but really, for what you get (considering the quality of the game) it is OVERPRICED. im assuming thats why they have the price paid daily in cents, so you dont realize how much youre spending on a crappy game. overall, the actual game is alright. its not as good as mystic messenger, but i wasnt expecting it to be an exact copy anyway. besides, its a good thing it isn't exactly like mystic messenger. however, the fact that it begs for your money constantly is a complete deal breaker. its unforgivable that the game practically just seems to exist to beg for your money.

I’ve been playing this game for a while and it logs my account out by itself🥲. It’s really frustrating. Overall I really love this game.
Letdown
Honestly, REALLY underwhelming compared to cheritz other games. More for someone who just wants a basic sweet bf slow paced text simulator. Does not even compare to the plotlines, function, soul, or even design of nameless, dandelion, or mysmes. Not to mention the interface is just kind of…. Ugly and confusing?
Ok game but still lacking
The game was ok but still lacked some elements, what is the point of the in game matchup app when the MC and the male characters can’t even meet? What does it even mean that they’re in different times and spaces? The MC from another country or she not human? It’s the only kind of romance this game lacks is the reality of in person meeting, I’d love to see the 2 characters connect in person too not just through a phone screen. It’s just really sad that the MC and the guys couldn’t meet in person cuz ig the in game app won’t even allow for some reason, they’re only stuck with their phones. Kind of a downgrade from mystic messenger honestly, 2 of the guys are too weak to face people and defending themselves due to one being raised in a rich family with an annoying greedy mom while the other is stuck between but mostly stuck with his ex and a psycho doctor with a bunch of immature employees on his half brother’s island while his mom goes back to the social ladder. While all the MC can do is sit and watch, and feel regret and remorse or having to try so hard to tolerate it. I hope they can meet in person, there should be no reason to prevent them from meeting. How else are they gonna move on with their relationship? T-T

Many Problems
Pros: - it isn’t as stressful since there aren’t “bad endings” at least, not for now. - it’s a cute concept having a “virtual boyfriend” -we will get daily text messages for at least 200 days for now and possibly longer in the future Cons: -You have to do a subscription in order to really enjoy the game. -It costs money to change your daily schedule (when you will get to text) -the game lures you into playing for a couple of days and then at around day 4/5 the texts take FOREVER to complete. Teo texts you maybe two times and then you have to wait 1-20 minutes to get the next text. You need the subscription if you don’t want to wait. -the translations are often hard to understand -the texts are kinda dry, teo isn’t that interesting of a character; so the game is getting boring -I don’t understand the space theme and how that matches with the game -the art…. Is not that much better of quality than MysticMessenger. Which is disappointing since this game has been 4 years in the making.

While I was looking forward to Cheritz new game…It’s slow story wise which is fine but it’s definitely pay to play. There is way too many micro purchases that you can’t play through the story comfortably. I wouldn’t mind if it was just a one time story purchase, but won’t be playing either way unless they fix this…

Not bad but not as good as mystic messenger
It’s interesting it’s not bad but it has a lot of advertisements to make you buy things.It gets annoying the game is cool but you can tell how much they want you to buy things.The time limits are alright but what’s annoying is you can’t get all of the photos without having to spend batteries for some also some choices are locked behind batteries.Its also complicated to figure out on your own I’m someone who barely reads directions for games unless needed and it’s needed in this game. Overall it’s an okay game could be better if it wasn’t begging you to buy things and making you waste your batteries (which is hard to get) on photos and message choices.

Mildly Disappointed
Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love the characters here, but there are some things.. That rub me the wrong way. First off, the subscription. I understand needing a payment of some kind, and Mystic Messenger did wonderful with combining free and paid features, but the subscription being required for numerous features is ridiculous. Never in Mystic Messenger did we EVER have to use currency to select a text choice. Secondly, why not just make the entire game a one time payment? 10-15 dollars to play the game would be perfectly fine. You get revenue, and no other payments would be necessary. If every player paid 10-15 dollars, it would be more than enough. Thirdly, the story seems .. Everywhere. Now, I’m early in the game, and maybe it clears up, but some features are very broken and it can be extremely confusing. Fourth and foremost, the art has somewhat declined.. Maybe it’s a stylistic choice, but a lot of things seem to include real background way too often without proper editing. Adding a positive note, I love all the side stuff and planets we can unlock, that was a wonderful feature to add !!

Forced relationship
You can’t reject Teo, he is the only character you’re stuck with him. When he confesses they lead you on with answers thinking you can reject him then they force you to choose between ‘lol I’m kidding’ or just saying you’ll be his girlfriend. And if you miss the confession altogether or don’t answer him he just makes you his girlfriend anyways and you don’t get any answers to refuse him. This is very early on in the game so I guess it’s lucky for people who like Teo and want the dating dialogue fast. But I was not getting along with Teo until recently and I only just started feeling like we were having nice naturally flowing conversations. That was not enough to feel ready to start dating him and having no way out but to go along with the dialogue or ghost him. Your answers really don’t matter in this game, it’s not about you, it’s not a fake boyfriend custom for you. It’s just Teo and only Teo and all about Teo for 200 days.
It’s Underwhelming
I downloaded this once a couple years ago and I was disappointed, I thought the animation, storyline and characters personality was extremely lacking, I had played Mystical Messenger, which is another game from the same people which I quite enjoyed, and they have just recently sent out a message saying June a characters from the SSUM: love of today has hidden ties to a character in Mystical Messenger so I decided to re-download it and try to figure out who it might be although I’m not sure if SSUM has gotten any better I sincerely hope it has but I’ll let you know once I start playing again ••• (edit) so I had been playing the game for a couple days now and the animation and storyline I still feel is lacking and I haven’t seen any sort of hidden ties to Mystical Messenger besides a photo that they send and him saying he has never heard of the game he says a few things here and there that sound similar to what other characters in Mysticl Messenger usually say, but overall in SSUM Mysticl Messenger is viewed as a game so the characters are not real people, so I’m not sure how he’s supposed to have hidden ties to them it’s not what I originally thought it was supposed to be at all and his character is rather annoying with being a total mamas boy as he doesn’t want to stand up to her at all as she’s overly protective, but this is totally my opinion you might feel differently. I don’t know if I will continue to play this game as it’s not really my type but I do like the different planets that you can try to find, and seeing different peoples comments in the game.

To start, I want to state that I thoroughly enjoyed this game. I completed the first season for June which took me a little over a month to do. The issue I faced was when I opened my app one day, I was logged out!! I tried logging back in but It said my email address was not an account they had!! So I tried any other possible email just in case it was an issue on my part but I had written down my login and it was just saying my account never existed!! So I think it glitched and erased my account or something and I’m not going to restart because it takes too long but overall the game isn’t bad but this issue I’m having is the only bad thing. (4 star game)

I really do enjoy this game! And I would probably be giving it 5 stars right now! But the subscriptions are kind of expensive for what content you receive, in my opinion. It would also be nice if it were a little easier to make up missed conversations for the day without having to fork out serious IRL money! Anyway, I’m only expressing any of this because I really do like this game a lot, and I’m definitely already emotionally invested in the characters! I’ll be sticking around either way :-)

I appreciate that it’s not like MM but the whole ‘emotion lab’ stuff is a lil complicated and unnecessary. Also would’ve been more interesting if teo and harry were in the same route like MM and the mc’s choices decide their route. Also the prices for everything in the game is ridiculous, MM is so much better at its pricing idk what happened when it came to this game. I don’t hate the slow pacing but it can get annoying and boring. Wish it was more lore heavy sometimes. I’d give it a 6.5/10, it could’ve been great If some things were different
I’ve been logged out
I’ve been playing for a while now and I’m hoping that there’s just an error rn and I can log in in the morning, but it will not allow me back into my account. I literally almost cried but I’m hoping that morning will let it work! I guess context is I have an account through Apple play. And the other three ways (google, facebook, email) just restart my progress. Other than this, I really, really love the game so far. It’s everything I could want in an otome game and the storyline I’ve played through so far is honestly well done. I just really hope I didn’t get cut short. :,)
slow and boring
I know it’s supposed to be a slow boil but it’s just so disappointing after playing Mystic Messenger. I log in at the appropriate time to find out that the person I’m supposed to be communicating with is on a plane? WTH? And they expect in-game purchases so I can talk with the ridiculous AI bird. Sorry—hard pass even for free.
An error happened in the last update
Game still works, it glitched on me again though, the day won’t start and it says i didn’t do my nighttime part from the night before either.
Disapointed
We’ve all been waiting a long time for this game and I guess i expected it to be a bit more polished, the translation/grammar is a bit off, the story is good but they repeat the same conversion about three or four times. And the biggest let down is that you have to pay real money for everything. Charging 25$ a month for the extras that make the game worth playing is nuts. I’ve played mystic messenger and i have paid for all the stuff because its worth it, this is not. I would suggest bringing down the amount you are trying to charge for the extras.

coming into this game i was obviously expecting to be other things you have to pay for like mystic messenger but they for sure went overboard. i see no point really in the subscription and the whole game just seems like more of a money grabber trying to get you to buy the subscription. i do not have enough money for this game :<

So far I really like the app. The daily emotion study has to be my favorite feature of the game. It does take the characters a long time sometimes to reply, but that’s something I’ve gotten used to. Besides that- no complaints
This game is terrible
Riddled with expensive micro transactions, so many freaking features with little to no explanation as to what to do; Teo being somewhat boring I can forgive since we do have 200 days with him, but the fact that we have to wait so long (up to 20 minutes!) for him to reply is ridiculous and unnecessarily drags out already short chats. The only reason this has 2 stars instead of one is because the forums from the community are somewhat entertaining. I tried to give this game a chance after loving Mystic Messenger, but after waiting 20 minutes for Teo to end our dry conversation with 3 unsubstantial sentences, I’m done.
Thoughts
I hope they add more characters in the future :) I also wish we can share more about ourselves.
