piano lessons
I feel so grateful to have accidentally found this app. All of the instructors are amaaaaaazing! Everyone needs a Lisa Witt in their life. Thank you for reminding me to breathe, and reminding me that this is practice. I can’t believe how much I love my piano lessons.
Content is good. App is horrible.
1. Drumless songs do not work on macOS, showing the error: “This video cannot be displayed on a site outside of YouTube.” 2. Metronome sound does not work at all. 3. Count-in works in 1 out of 10 cases, and it doesn’t even matter since there is no metronome sound. 4. Export to PDF does not work. 5. While a song is playing, a semi-transparent box appears at the bottom of the screen, completely blocking all the buttons. 6. Audio is constantly glitching, even with a good audio interface. 7. You cannot change the audio output channel. 8. You can’t even change the song volume inside the app. And this is after trying it for less than an hour. I bet there are many more bugs that I haven’t spotted yet.
Good app
Great app, but the interface could be significantly less confusing.
Subscription trap
Manage subscription navigation is designed to make things tough. I was trying to navigate past an offer and end up with an unwanted upgrade. When I go to manage subscriptions there is no option to go back. I’ll give them 24 hours to correct or us just cancel all together. Sad. Liked the platform.
App is Abysmal
I’ve been using the app for like 2 years. The newest update is the worst ever. The app is practically unusable now. Lessons are generally fine but the app is a headache EVERY single time I try to use it.
Musora is the best
I am only 11 years old and I love this app. I’ve been playing drums for two years and this is the best drumming app I have ever used. Anyone who wants to learn to play drums should definitely use this app and will definitely become a better drummer in no time.
Good lessons, terrible app
This review is about the app and not the lessons themselves. I used drumeo daily and find it very helpful, but the app experience is absolutely unacceptable. Update: they made the app worse. They addressed most of the issues below, but broke the rest of the user experience. It is now difficult or impossible to find relevant lessons, they made video playback speed less fine tuned (jumps of .5x instead of .25x), practice resources/practice files attached to lessons are… gone? The updated drumeo learning method doesn’t even teach beginners how to hold sticks? So if you’re trying to learn drums and have no attention span, this update is for you. Old review: Videos are constantly missing from recent lessons, it’s a piecemeal of things you’ve watched in the past few days rather than an actual history. Too many things you click on in the app take you to the browser version instead, including songs which are no longer no longer supported in the app (browser only). The app is absolutely frustrating and ruins what is otherwise a good learning experience. My biggest grievance is when I hit “Continue” to view challenges I was working on yesterday, they are completely absent from my history. I have to go searching for them to continue where I left off. This happens on the 30 day challenge when I’ve already completely numerous days of them. They just vanish from the history. The app is basically a terrible browser experience, it would almost be better to not have an app. The songs (when they were available in the app and now still in the browser) have some nice features as far as slowing down, highlighting notes etc, but it doesn’t remember your settings so if you have a preference for how to display, you have to reset it for every single song, every single time. The lessons themselves are good, and there are lots of them. All that’s missing is a consistent app experience for them.
A little buggy
I just signed up a couple of weeks ago for the drum and piano lessons. Both are GREAT and I highly recommend them. I look forward to completing the daily lessons. My only complaint is that the app doesn’t always open up and sometimes takes a few tries before it loads. Once it loads, however, it works perfectly fine. (Sidenote: Lisa Witt is awesome!)
Great lessons videos take forever to load
The lessons are really good when they actually load. Most of the time they don’t and it stalls momentum.
Great lessons terrible app
Update: I was told to email in after sending this feedback because they had some updates coming in. I did and my money was refunded and account shut down. How is this normal customer service? Here is my original review: These lessons are so valuable but navigating where you left off in the app is horrible. I am so utterly confused as to where I am in my learning journey. There is no reason why an app should be this unfriendly to the user. It’s the easiest part to get right.
Do yourself a huge favor and check this teaching app out!
After many years, I decided to return to playing piano. I researched many piano teaching apps, and for me, Musora really stood out from the crowd. Musora offers four high quality teaching apps for the price of one, not just piano. You are led by talented friendly folks who enjoy teaching and want you to succeed. Do some research and I think you might agree with me. There is a free trial that will give a good overview of what is available in Musora.
Did not get content I paid for
I paid for a subscription and I never got access to the content. I reached out to customer service 5 different times, got 1 response, and no resolution. $240 for literally nothing. 10/10 do not recommend.
Great app but one small thing would be a big improvement
Love the app and features. But really need the video controls moved to the top of the screen. When the phone is resting in edrum module. The groove it sits in totally covers the video controls. So you need to stop everything and pick up the device just to go back to re watch a section of a tutorial. It’s a real flow killer. Which isn’t ideal while you’re learning.
Terrible video scrolling
The video slider was bad in the previous version of the app and I hoped that it would be fixed with the update. But no, now it’s even worse. You can’t scroll the video precisely, every time you scroll you end up in a random spot. Just please make it like YouTube. Fix your controls
Great app with issues
The most recent iPad update has caused a major issue for me. Practice sessions won’t load the videos, so I’m forced to do challenges and workouts without access to the sheet music.
Great help learning the drums!
Musora is genuinely a great tool. I’m a student with lots of ambitions besides learning how to play music, and this has helped me soooo much. The Musora Drumeo method has made things so much easier when learning how to play the drums, and not nearly as frustrating as other ways of learning. The lessons are quick, so it’s a nice rush dopamine and self accomplishment when you finish one, as well as easy to fit into a tight schedule. Everything is clearly explained, and there are seemingly infinite resources in Musora/Drumeo, like forums to chat with other drummers and ask for tips. I loooove Musora.
App rarely works
This was my go to app to learn drums but since they’ve updated, it’s worked 2 times over the last 2 months.
Buggy
I enjoy the drum lessons, but the app is feeling buggy. I’m using the app on an iPhone Pro Max with the latest version of iOS and attempting to AirPlay the video to my Apple TV and often the app lags in time where the video and the audio do not sync up correctly. Additionally when I try to x out of a video, the target disappears before I can even tap it – and I can tap fast. I’m also having problems with the videos loading on occasion – I’m using a eero network with business class Wi-Fi speed at a nearly 200 Mb download speed. And my cell signal when not on Wi-Fi is a 5G on Verizon. But some videos will stutter – I’m wondering if this is a issue based on where the videos are stored and how they are loaded into the app because it doesn’t seem like it’s building much buffer for any network hiccups.
Updates making this worse
The latest updates to this app have been horrible. I mainly use the app for my Drumeo subscription. Most of my time is spent in the songs section. This just feels like something that was half baked and then shoved out while they say “we will fix later”. I’m not a fan of having paying customers suffer while you meet some internal company deadline. 1. Songs in my playlist auto play. Why? 2. Previously my playlist was made up of “drumless” versions. Now every song that I select is the original and I have to manually swap over to the drumless version. 3. If I select a song from my playlist, it starts to auto play the original, I then select the drumless version, it’ll then often “jump” to the end of the song (I’m assuming it’s because the previous drumless song I played was at the very end) and then skip forward to the next song instantly. 4. Every time I use the top left back arrow in the playlist, it jumps to the top of the playlist. Why? It means every song change I make I have to scroll down to my previous spot. I understand change is sometimes necessary and it’s good to refresh features and improve. But this isn’t the first time that this subscription service has rolled out an app update that has removed features and made the overall user experience significantly worse. This has significantly impacted my enjoyment of the service and I find myself frustrated every time I have the app open. The frustration isn’t coming from change. It’s coming from the stripping away of features and what appears to be a lack of testing or ignoring the obvious usability issues and pushing the update anyway. Either Drumeo / Musora doesn’t understand how their users are interfacing with these apps or they simply don’t care anymore.
Great lessons, terrible app
The UX on the app is horrible, that being said, the lessons are awesome. I do recommend it. You guys should hire a PM to work on the app, at least drumeo doesn’t work as it should.
Songs songs songs
Pianote user over two years ..prepped me to try playing songs, the new focus on playing songs works for me to take my piano where Captain Kirk dares to go? The revised app has songs now and the assignments work most of the time. Thanks for a great service
new app is terrible
Constantly complains no internet connection and i haveto close and open. Lessons are also messily organized. All the previous course that i started automatically dissappeared. its lot more buggy than i thought
Good for learning and exploration! Needs an Update.
This app is great as a hub of knowledge. Using it mainly for drumeo. The play-a-longs need a bit of work, overlapping click tracks and a limited UI makes it hard to work through the app, it also seems to take a performance hit in those situations.
New app update
Before the update, when I was on Jordan ‘s course and doing the assignments, when I was completed with the assignment, it would mark as completed. Now I cannot see that

Soooo upset that they removed the XP and tier system. It made playing and learning so much more enjoyable and created a sense of progress.
Difficulty getting around the app
I’m finding the new app a little hare to move from the method lesson back to the home page. I’m sure there’s a way. I just can’t find the route at present.
Great lessons terrible app
As others have mentioned the lessons are great but they are really doing a disservice by this app. The navigation is confusing and generally poorly designed. Method, lessons, packs. Really hard to pick up where you left off. Recommendations on where to go next are poor and generally unhelpful despite being prominently displayed. You almost need a user forum to figure out the next content and how to dig for it.
Great lessons, bad app
The lessons are great! And there are so many of them! But the app needs an overhaul. It’s buggy, and can be hard to navigate and use. It has cleared my progress in challenges multiple times. Buttons don’t always do what they say they’re going to do. Songs aren’t available in app (which I assume is some limitation related to licensing), but they work fine in browser.
Drumeo Rocks!
I’ve learned more from Drumeo than I ever could have without it. Everything from technique And basic skills to more advanced concepts and a wide variety of styles. A big part of Drumeo for me is learning about hundreds of amazing drummers from the last hundred years to today, their histories, styles, and then getting to learn from them. It’s incredible. I even tell non-drummers to check it out because it’s so much fun.
No Method
I signed up hoping for this great method. Looked so promising. However, they changed their site the day I signed up a few weeks ago and only 3 beginner courses are included in their “methods”. There is no longer a guided legacy learning piano course as they rebuild their site for who knows how long. I have reached out to them by multiple phone calls, email, community forum and receive no replies except from a student who has no clue about the app or site. The community moderator was nice but ineffective and never ended up helping after multiple texts. Very disappointed with the communication and misleading promise of a guided methodology. What a colossal waste of time as they never get back to you. And charge you more than most learning sites. I suggest staying away at least until they get their act together.

Love the lessons, HATE the app
1) there is no way for me to download the lessons on an iPhone 2) I can’t learn “songs” on an iPhone 3) it is incredibly non-intuitive to navigate the app 4) it does not stream well if you are not on wifi. Travelling and want to practice? You can’t.

BASS DRUM v Hi Hat
I have always thought of the bass drum as the foundation of an initial groove followed by either/or hi hat and snare. Always willing to learn though!
Crashing Issues
Review will promptly change to a 5 once the bug is addressed. Every time I complete a lesson the app goes a blank white screen instead of showing my exp and allowing me to progress. I then have to force close the app to have it resume functioning. Used on an iPhone 15 with IOS 18.5
App problem?
I am using this app to learn to play the drums via drumeo. For some reason, whenever I click on “complete” after a lesson, the screen goes black, and I have to restart the app to continue. Please fix this.
Super Helpful
I have been using Musora for drums and guitar and it has helped me progress a ton. I’d say this is great software to start, learn the basics, and for practice. I don’t think it completely replaces an actual instructor as they can catch bad habits and weaknesses and develop specific plans to address these. But I’d say if you are picking up an instrument for a hobby, start here and if you love it then invest in weekly lessons to improve.

I want to start this off by saying I NEVER review apps. This is the first review ever. I literally just did a free trial of drumeo. Loved it. Perfect for me as I just got an e-kit and haven’t played drums since college. After my payment went through, the app updated and I am completely lost. I loved how easy it was to get around in the app before. No idea why they changed the format but I wish they would undo it. Where is the drumeo method? Why are rudiments not listed as a category anymore? A year subscription isn’t cheap. Kinda feel that you have an obligation to keep a consistent product if you are asking people to pay that price. Really disappointed.
Great! But don’t forget renewal
Just remember this subscription renews itself every year! Seem to not make it obvious that it’s not a one time fee. Otherwise the app is great!!! Still worth it
Pricy
It was “ok” but renewal was full price, you don’t get the Black Friday deal more than once🤷♂️. In Canada with current exchange was way too pricy for what I was getting out of it. I’ve since moved on to other more reasonably priced programs and not looking back. They didn’t care they lost me and I don’t care that I lost them. P.S. Lisa is in Canada why do I have to pay in American funds!? 😱🤷♂️
Songs not workin
Songs don't work on iOS and serval songs I was learning are not there anymore...

New Version is an Abomination
Loved this program and the system until about 48 hours ago. They pushed a “updated” version that is actually a downgrade and have alienated a majority of loyal students to the method. This is no longer a quality experience and you will find it a waist of valuable practice time. Sad story of a once great company.
I have improved so much!
Great program to learn drumming, or to become better. I find the App a little hard to navigate and find areas of interest rather than just following from lesson to lesson.
Serious problem with app getting hung up
Drumeo has great content and is hands-down the best drum instruction site out there but man oh man, the Museo app has got serious problems with bandwidth, or lack thereof. It seems to be a real problem on iPad. The app just gets hung up and basically just permanently freezes. Combine this with the loss of hundreds (maybe thousands) of songs from its library and I cannot justify the subscription fee.
Would be great but...
Lags, stutters, skips beat when playing tracks, even if I give it time to buffer. Itunes playing the same songs in lossless is perfectly smooth so it's not a bandwidth problem.
