What people like
- Feels safe for kids
- Reminds you to put phone down
- Great photo log of your life
What they complain about
- Ads interrupt you constantly
- Keeps crashing when you open it
- Support never actually helps
It’s a limited social media platform
At the end of scrolling to see All your friends it reminds you to get off your phone which I think is great!
PORN LINK
I just saw a porn app advertised on my BeReal. Get real!! You are supposed to be for KIDS!!
BeReal

I love it but..
I love the app but it thought I was underage and when I told them I’m not comfortable showing my personal stuff they said they are gonna delete my acc then
Best app ever
This app is so fun for you
Won’t load
After almost making it to 1000 day streak, BeReal won’t load. I tried many things, like doing a hard restart of my phone, uninstalling/reinstalling the app, etc. I reached out to support simply asking for a copy of my data, since there’s no way I trust them to safely store 3 years of photo memories. Never heard back. I would highly recommend NOT investing any emotional energy in the app like I did.
School
The 2 minute be real always happens when I’m at school☹️☹️
Fun - but so laggy and buggy
BeReal is brilliant app for saving memories, capturing fun, real moments. But the app lay out and the way it works is so buggy and slow, barely able to load anything, doesn’t save my captions half the time, refuses to load some of my old pictures ever again, and just is a terrible design. Needs a serious update and for these bugs to be fixed. So I’d say you can use it for a bit of fun - but don’t solely rely on this app to work all the time or save all your pictures.
Good app, not often used
Good for the occasional use but not many people actually seem to do it, other social medias are better though this is still fun.
BeReal
BeReal is prob the best app that has ever existed
Disappointing as of late 🤬
UPDATE: apparently we’re still having issues with this app and the consistency of its performance. Regrettably, I’m losing patience with the inconsistency of its performance and might have to discontinue use. Ever since the addition of ads, BeReal is extremely unstable and I have purchased a new phone, changed wireless providers and STILL have a poor experience. SO. DISAPPOINTING. The foul experience has calculated to nearly 6 MONTHS now - patience is running out. Do better developers. And fast. I *used to* LOVE this app but somehow in the last 6 weeks everything about its user experience has been suffering for me! The app doesn’t load, it will try to boot up but then crash. Repeatedly. I have reached out to support and that hasn’t resolved anything. I wish this issue would resolve because BeReal is my favorite way to chronicle my daily life and I love it to recap my day-to-day life. If this doesn’t get resolved soon, I’m going to struggle to keep this as a daily part of my life.
Amazing!!
This app is amazing it is super fun and the only bad part is if I can’t post at the be real time it doesn’t let me post the rest of the day! Otherwise, it is a safe environment, where your friends can see what you’re doing!! As well as I can’t pin any of my BeReal
world cup
ive loved this app and posted on it every day for 1528 days. why is a french app giving me notifications for the england results??? im scottish and not pleased LOL
Not too great of an experience
Incredibly laggy, almost missing the time on my BeReal due to the lagginess of the software. Ads are everywhere and too often, I’d rather pay a very small subscription or once off payment to get rid of them.
Perfect for preteen/teen
If you don’t want your kids on social media and they would like to be on Snap or Insta or whatever, this is the perfect app I just got the app yesterday and I have 0 complaints. Please give it a shot
Innapropriate ads
BeReal was one of my favorite apps to have and when they added the ads I thought it was fair. What I didn’t think was fair and disgusted me was an ad on an inappropriate app with an almost nude lady. I used this app around kids, around my friends, and around my own kid, they do not need to be seeing those type ads. I delete bereal and have been telling everyone I know to do the same
AMAZING
I love BeReal it’s a super fun app that is easy to use and lets me keep in touch with my friends
Won’t let me open??
I’ve re-downloaded the app after a few years but everytime I go onto the app it says there is an error loading my profile and to try again, but it doesn’t even let me onto the app any further. I’ve looked for options to update and there is none. Also I have deleted the app and downloaded it again multiple times but I’m not sure how to fix it.
eh.
i honestly love this app but it’s genuinely takes a lot of space and it needs more room for the bio i think. and my bereal has just been glitchy and just won’t work for right now but still love this app
W
The most goated app ever
HORRIBLE
I tried to long into my account and it needed a code to sign in, yet they didn’t feel the need to send me a code. Extremely frustrating and they need to fix this pronto, very dissatisfied and will never spend my time on this stupid bad dumb app ever again!!!!!!!!!!!!
Questions
It is great but I am having trouble understanding why if it shows one of my contacts has 20 friends on the app so I share my profile so they can add me they text me and say they don’t have the app. Please help me understand this. The app glitches or gets slow sometimes but usually works great!
No notification
I have notifications switched on and get many for people reacting to posts and others posting but I am not getting the notification for when the bereal happens and for those 2 minutes!
The fall off is wild
This app used to be peak back in the day, but no one seems to use it anymore
Great
Great
Sarky comments
I’ve stopped using bereal as have my friends. I can’t speak for them, but I really dislike the sarky comments when you use it, eg ‘get back to the real world’. Not a good idea bereal!
It’s midly cool I guess
It’s basically Facebook you have a streak all you see is people doing stuff with a photo kinda a waste of time for some people it’s awesome but for me, it’s giving Facebook
Bug updates wipe profile
Love the app and the idea especially having a photographic log of the last months and years, but execution of the USP poor. Now the latest update has totally wiped my memories and registered me as a new profile. Many of my close BeReal’ers have given up!!
BTS
bring back bts please I miss it so much
So much fun
So much fun get to post about my day
Dear bereal you ruined my life
It went off in school i got suspended
Fun
I don’t like reposts of the same BeReal on different users
Timings
The app is great. I re-downloaded it recently and have found it seems to go off around the same time everyday so I’m always at my desk working. I understand it’s about being real, but I feel it loses its impact when it goes off at roughly the same time.
Dreadful update
I don’t know what bereal did in the most recent update, but the app now just refuses to open, making it impossible to use! A fix is needed asap
So fun!
I LOOVVEE seeing what other people are doing and it very organized
that's a bye
i've been using the app for so long and kept losing my streak when i go abroad and can't log in and verify my number recently there's a function for you to verify your emaol and for some odd reason it kept saying my email is wrong??? and i never once got that verification email. One day for some reason, i couldnt see anything after posting my pictures and my streak was gone and i reached out to the people to help they suggested i remove the app and reinstall. I did and tried to log in it said i was new here lol my account was gone and i guess it's a bye bye
I love bereal.
Be real is so good and i’ve used it everyday for so long but can u pls add a feature where you can find a random picture just like shuffle i think that would be cool - also thank you for adding the scrolling feature you’re a blessing
App issues
The idea of this app is excellent. I love it. But do you want to know why people don’t use it anymore? BECAUSE THE APP DOES NOT WORK! Looking through your old bereals is futile because any comments and captions from one post then get connected to all the others, the app often crashes, bereals won’t take so you miss the 2 minute window because you have to close and reopen the app, bereals deleting on their own and many other faults as well. I honestly think if it wasn’t for these faults, this app would still be just as popular as it was before.
Lost it’s audience
I still love this app and every day I be real. However virtually everyone of my friends who did this have stopped using it. I have about 3 friends left (who I made through app) are still doing it. How are you going to get the audience back
Fun!!
So much fun to post what you’re doing at the moment and make friends and it’s super fun!
Ads
The ads are quite annoying, some just ridiculous
Not available in Bangladesh
Why BeReal is not available in Bangladesh? Make sure your app has world access.
It used to be such a cool app.
I discovered BeReal in 2022, and had been using it up until 2024. It used to be such a great app, I loved seeing what my friends were doing randomly at the same moment as me. But I didn’t have many friends on the app, so I would explore the Global BeReals, it was so nice to see random strangers who all lived casual lives like me. I understand the privacy concerns regarding the Global feature (but that could be fixed by allowing only people 18+ to be able to post to Global). However, the app I feel lost its sense of purpose when it turned into a popularity context. The great thing about Global is that there were all random people, no popularity contest. But now, the only way to find people who are still active, is to be recommended “popular users” that have thousands of followers. What happened to being authentic, genuine, and deconstructing the social media structure? BeReal is now nothing but a popularity contest, and a “who can have the longest streak” contest, like everything else. I just want to share my authentic random moments with other people. No retaking, no fakeness. Please, get rid of the BeReal influencers and brands. If you’re going to keep the ability to publish your BeReals publicly, you should bring back the Global tab, so everyone gets a chance to see and be seen, should they want to participate. All this being said, it still functions really nicely as a unique way of reflecting back on your past week, month, or year. To see what you were up to, when you might not have otherwise taken a photo. And for this I give it 2 stars.
Could be better
It has potential, chat function is so difficult with it being so slow. Also almost unusable with every update, everything taking forever to load!!!
Photo book?
My wife and I have been enjoying Be Real for several years now. I would love to be able to create a printed photo book of all of my Be Real photos over the years, or maybe even a .pdf download. Can the devs make this possible?
False Countdown
I literally clicked on the countdown prompt when the notification popped up & the BeReal I took even said it was “on time”…now it’s labeled as “8 minutes late” & won’t give me the extra 5 posts for being on time. It’s not the first time this happens, what’s the point of being on time if you’re not gonna honour it? That’s not being real…🙄
good!
ok so rly good but a bit boring and when you send a friend request it says that ur following them and its annoying that the privacy settings is confusing like i dont want friends of friends to see my bereal so yeah overall rly good
my favourite app until recently
i’ve suggested bereal to so many of my friends and have kept them posting for ages since i loved the way it was built to be a simple update app of people i don’t see a lot anymore, or at least that’s what it used to be. now, there’s ads every 2 posts, a banner that tells me to follow influencers and notifications to start groups. the ads are the worst part, it takes away from the charm of the app. i suggest putting one ad on opening the app if you have to succumb to capitalism like every other app out there, but the way it is now is terrible and i doubt i’ll be staying any longer. what a disappointment lol not only that but you guys used to preach about being different than other social media apps but now we have a notification icon, private dms and ads so how different are you really? in addition, the whole charm of bereal used to be the fact that you could only take 1 picture at one point in the day but now that there’s 5 chances (given you’re within the time limit) just makes it feel redundant and it takes away from what made bereal special. it feels like you are going against everything you stood for at the start of the app and it’s really really sad to see. the only way i’d see this improving is if you went back to how the app was at the beginning.
Ok so
It’s good I’ve deleted it a couple of times because I’ve lost my streak
