What people like
- Content quality is consistently high
- Presenters are funny and passionate
- Offers great tactical insights
What they complain about
- Keeps logging you out constantly
- App crashes and feels unstable
- Hard to buy tokens or top up
The best LFC related podcast hands down.
While other football podcasts are run in the vain of AFTV where saying the craziest things will gain online traction, TAW is at the other end of the scale. It is calm, measured, insightful and downright enjoyable. Each of the hosts and guest are great in their own way but Neil Atkinson is an absolute joy to behold. I could listen to him for hours. The amount of content they put out is incredible and there are shows for every taste, whether it be post match analysis, tactics, transfers, upcoming fixtures or the Monday show talking about the weekends occurrences. I’d give it six stars if I could.
Technical difficulties always
Great content, great contributors on whole. Sometimes can suffer from echo chambering on opinions but nature of the beast I imagine. However star rating is due to app, constantly logs me out, crashes, won’t let me log in, won’t let me reset password. Have raised with the email address and always get a response but feel the relentless optimism re: the app and ‘should be sorted now’ pretty tedious. I get they have to defend their app after all investment, but I still find it pretty poor, also takes AGES to delete old episodes, one by one, to free up space. Can this be looked at?
Great content
TAW has great content, the only improvements would be for an CarPlay compatibility and a sleep function.
Content great, app needs work
Constantly logs me out, feels a bit clunky and now seems I can’t play episodes through my Sonos speaker. Sure it’ll get there but needs some work around stability & reliability (worth persevering with though as content is top drawer).
Apple and TAW not aligned
Full of ideas for new shows. Some great original content. Cannot buy subscription without Andy having to manually do it.
Incredible emotive content
Genuine insight and passion from people who adore the club as much or you and I. Sign up you won’t be disappointed. Been a subscriber since the start it’s just a shame Gareth Robert’s is no longer part of the mix, like Bobby he was brilliant at getting the best from his team mates. Up the reds.
Subscription
I didn’t initially get a subscription and now I want to add one and can’t find it and refuse to buy tokens as I go.
Great content but recent issues
Absolutey love the content here and worth every penny. Been having some issues lately with balance not showing up in the app and not being able to use my credits to purchase the paid shows. Please fix this and it’ll go back to 5*s!!
Amazing Content
Content for TAW is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Sadly when I was using my tokens I had a pop up to subscribe for a month for the audio and video or just audio or just video. Can I find that again? No. I’m just given the options to buy 500 tokens or 250 tokens. There is no option to subscribe for video and audio or just video or just audio. Pity. As I’ve enjoyed this trial. But disappointed there is no longer the option I had a couple of weeks ago mid trial.
Fan Media Will Have Its Revenge On Ex-Player Narratives
Remember the nonsense Andy Gray used to spout on Sky Sports about Souness’ 3 at the back? Or Rafa’s subs on 60 mins? Or zonal marking? Or frankly any of utter tripe spoonfed to the masses every week? For decades we had to endure it. To this day the Gary Neville’s of this world try to steer narratives despite never succeeding in football management. Then one day The Anfield Wrap came along and reminded everyone that ex-pros with the personality of a cabbage do not represent reality. That the fans who watch every game twice a week do in fact know better. And TAW has never looked back. Fan media across all clubs & all sports is often the lifeboat in an ocean of mediocre opinions. TAW is worth every penny. Climb onboard.
Troublesome
This app is not up to standard; in an ideal world, The Anfield Wrap would have settled on an alternative a long time ago. The latest in a long line of issues I have experienced is, I haven’t been able to top up my wallet over the past few weeks. When I tap on the amount I wish to top up by, it is unresponsive. I then go to settings and tap on ‘Contact us’, only to be notified that I am not signed into any email addresses on the app. Instead, I select the option to review the app. Again it is unresponsive. I have updated the app, deleted and reinstalled it, to no avail. The Anfield Wrap consistently produces great content - that’s why I have been trying to give them my money - but the app has long been a letdown. I really do hope they migrate to some other, more reliable, app format in the near future because it is a shame to witness poor infrastructure hinder such impressive content.
Hardcore LFC fans must have
Brilliant app. Brilliant podcasts. Been listening to these lads for 7-8 years now. Highly recommend it The app however costed this a 5 star review. Continually bugs out.
App crashes
I absolutely love the Anfield wrap and the content produced, but the App is really, really unstable. I can rarely open it and access any podcasts. Would love to see stability updates here.
Great
Excellent app, shows and quality
Frustrating
Content is great but app extremely flakey - constantly unable to log in and told not a subscriber though paying £8 each month for audio content. Infuriating and frustrating.
Dark mode please
App works well and allowing videos to play in the background is very welcome even if sometimes you can’t get see them when you unlock your phone again. But please give us an option for a dark mode. The all white theme is as unsettling as seeing Park Tierney scheduled to ref yet another one of our games.
A lot to like, but...
When working, this is an excellent tool to get read TAW articles. However my podcast app is better for playing podcasts, the embedded YouTube videos are not as good a way to watch the fine TAW videos, than using the YouTube app itself. The worst thing, is that I have to login time and time again. At times every single time I open the app. That bit is a deal breaker for now... Hopefully that will be fixed eventually.
Like friends you never met
This is such a good channel, amazing insight, very informative and so, so lovely and funny. Every presenter sounds like they love what they do and the people they do it with. There are so many standout shows within TAW, but my current favourite is The Shoot Treatment, which has had some outstanding guests, using a format that nurtures some really interesting conversations and ideas, while being dead funny. I also loved an episode of I can’t remember what, but the team shoehorned so many Michael Jackson song titles in, it was ridiculous. Top work, I feel like I’ve been to Anfield and the pub afterwards through listening to it.
Can’t stay logged in
The app keeps logging me out and losing my subscription.
Great at football chat…..
The best football conversation around for LFC fans, but they need to leave the rabid left wing politics at home. You’re alienating genuine Liverpool fans lads.
1.5 speed
App works perfectly, easy to use. I’m begging you to add 1.5 speed though, please!
Subscribed but no access
As title says, I’ve subscribed but have no access to anything at all, tells me I need to subscribe still. Not good
Great with potential
Good app, fantastic content. Missing an easy to navigate archive show by show
Simply The Best
Ive been a paying member of TAW for a number of years. The truth is these guys manage keep producing shows of the highest quality, month after month. The Presenters are excellent, enthused and always open to differing opinions. There are lots of Liverpool podcasts but TAW remains the Champions.
Like the Echo but in podcast form
Written by Scousers for Scousers, they forget there is a supporter base beyond their postcode / demographic.
Feedback
Hey lads, well in! Congratulations on your new app. I have a few suggestions to potentially make it a tad more useful: Make swiping back between 'pages' an option as opposed to having to press the back button. Especially on iPhone this is the more accepted method to be back to the previous page on any website, app etc. Also maybe have a look at the animation that minimises a playing podcast to the bottom of the page, it isn't as smooth and interactive and that of Apple's Podcast App. Not sure if that's something you guys would be interested in changing? Other than those small finicky things, the app is outstanding! Well done guys🏆
The greatest LFC Content around
If you are an LFC fan this podcast is a must. Incredible content, professional, superb insights and always plenty of laughs. Passionate LFC fans giving exceptional value. Subscribe and let The Anfield Wrap team enhance your LFC supporting journey!
Content is excellent, app is awful
The content is consistently excellent. The app is terrible. Servers are always down, especially at the times you would most want to watch. If you’re going to subscribe, and you should, just do an audio only. That way, you can access the content you pay for via 3rd party services.
Wrap It Up
Cracking app, content & people. Made with nothing but love from the heart of L1. 5 stars, should be 6. Hopefully 7 soon.
Not getting anything at all!
Blank reports all across the board.
Can’t buy tokens
Sensational app and consistently high-quality content - couldn’t recommend a better Liverpool-focused podcast. Struggling to buy tokens at the moment though!
Love the content hate the app
How can you not do 1.5 speed? Still love the content though
