- Notifications often fail to work
- Headlines are clickbait and misleading
Notifications
Great app but why all of a sudden do I not get notifications any help would be appreciated have deleted the app and reinstalled but still no notifications. I have tried in settings to turn on notifications on the app but unfortunately I can’t see the app in my settings
No longer works on iMac
I appreciate that it says it is not guaranteed to work on iMac, but it is always dissapointing for a paying customer when something that did work no longer does because the developers managers don't seem to care about heir user base.
Slightly flawed app
Great app for all the latest news and views but my LFC essential hasn’t updated for months which is a bit disappointing as it’s part of the paid app. Would love to know why as have tried deleting and reloading app and nothing changes.
Not working well
App is okay. Bought it. As a long time listener of the blood red podcast. They were promoting it a while back. Very rarely update the news on it? Not sure if it’s because I am in Australia. But does not seem to be working well for me. And I paid for the premium version. Not sure what I am supposed to get for that. Still ads, even though the lads were selling it, as ad free. Started off that way. Though quickly become ads within articles and such. Seems like a bit a jib. Just go on to the echo web page. To get the same news for free.
Block button
Put a freaking block button for blocking the ignorant trolls that just comment to bash players
MR ANTHONY JONES.
BRILLIANT IVE BEEN READING THE ECHO FOR MORE THAN 50 YEARS THE NEWS IS ALWAYS UPTO DATE , AND TOP COVERAGE OF ALL THE LOCAL SPORTS.. BRILLIANT STUFF KEEP IT UP.. SO PROUDE OF OUR CITY..👍..BIG ELLA.
App was always poor but now worse
The app has never been great, always locking up, plagued with adverts that moved things around but I was happy to live with that for it to fund itself. Now it is only useful if you pay, no thank you!!
Only a 4 because of bug that needs fixing
Normally a great app but in last few days my latest news feed has articles from months ago and will not refresh
Can’t comment
Not for the first time not only can I not make any comments on any posts but now cannot even access the comments at all on any posts!!! Ridiculous!!!!
Most annoying article titles ever.
I love Liverpool and the information gained here but those click bait semi vague headlines on each article are beyond annoying. They actually dissuade me from read them. Please stop.
The Best.
If you want to know about Liverpool Fc this is the place for Liverpool fans .
Some useful stories but……
This app tends to publish lots of speculative stories and issues far too many notifications - not sure it is worth having.
Updates are working
Having given a less than complimentary review when this first came out, I thought I would provide an update. The Bloodred podcasts now work in the background, which is great. Now I’m used to this major revision I like it. The only reason it’s on 4 stars not 5 is because of the adverts. I understand they make the app free, but when they are different sizes and change about every thirty seconds, it causes the stories to jump up or down the screen. The ads should either be a uniform size or change when you swipe to the next article.
Great Content Poor Presentation
This may be harsh because it’s so frustrating. The content here is excellent. However, stories don’t load or more often their entirely obscured by the ads. Maybe offer an ad free tier with subscription? Otherwise, clean up the display do we can enjoy the excellent content.
Good but terrible titles
Some great content here, but please can you stop with the awful clickbait titles and actually have titles that reflect the story.
MR David O’connell
just a brilliant page to keep up to date with things to do with Liverpool Football Club YNWA
Grey screen
Once again grey screen can’t see any articles. This happens every few days sort it out please.
My team, my club, my family
Good app, trustworthy and not reliant on rumours. Sometimes could be a bit quicker with the news but well worth having. I read every update and get waylaid into reading more which is generally a pleasant pastime.
Click bait central!
TOO often the headline leads to VERY disappointing content. Treat your subscribers with a bit more respect
Good when it is uptodate.
It is a sound website with just two shortcomings. One, it is often slow to up date the content. I receive it in my email before it shows in the app. Two, some of the content stretches the thinnest of subject matter, mainly to fill the site I suspect. Plus some of the headlines are sensationalising content inappropriately. But I still refer to the app on at least a daily basis.
Useful app but takes up a lot of space
I use this app frequently but I have one issue The app takes 50.7 mb - not a problem The data used is 1.32 gb (on my iPad) Why might that be and how do I reduce this data? On my iPhone the data is 682 mb and I am don’t have anything SAVED on either device
Rubbish app
Poor quality - the journalists can barely write, the stories are badly-sourced and repetitive, and it’s almost impossible to create an account
Well done
Just brilliant
great content but...
Great content, but the actual app is buggy and annoying. Articles continually load blank and live content doesn’t refresh well. and then there is the reach cookie acceptance that means the whole article is greets out until you can finally find the acceptance box.
App
App is very slow to upload
Great news
Thank you for always being at the forefront with news of LFC
Crap connection
Once updated wont let me sign in they send you some reach contact that doesnt work
Love the app but...
This is a great app a must for all LFC fans. The feature I like most is the notifications. However I purchased new iPhone XS and restored it from backup of my 7+. But now I am no longer receiving notifications. I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times & notifications are on and have reset phone but still no notifications. Please update app if it is a developer issue or glitch. Great app would 100% recommend.
Updates making app less stable
This used to be a great app. Lately they seem to be trying to cram more ads, contest, and promoting a fantasy league which takes up half a page into the feed. When you click on the live but it is unusable and just doesn’t work. Disappointing as it used to be the easiest way get solid LFC news on the go.
New format
I don’t like the new format and the smaller font. I now need to find my glasses before I can read articles.....
Campione
Great Liverpool fc news
Censorship at its highest
Don’t bother with this app , if you give your opinion and the echo doesn’t like it it will delete your post ... you don’t even need to use bad language... you can write a comment and not have one actual bad word in it and all of a sudden a ‘whoa’ will appear saying there are words that are not approved to use ... and yet nothing bad or rude was said .... and they won’t even tell you what the word was that they disapproved of .. so you are none of the wiser... it then got to the point I would write something.. even just a hello or a hi ...and it would be there and as soon as you exit and comeback it is deleted .... so apparently according to the echo I have never posted a comment .. lol Don’t bother with this site ... might as well be 1930’s Germany
Great way to follow #LFC from afar
Liverpool updates in Pensacola... YNWA, y’all! The Echo LFC app is great with up-to-date news, opinions and tidbits, without having to scroll and click through news and other teams. Tends to freeze on my phone at times. Fix by quitting and relaunching. Come to Fla, Redmen!
Lazy Story Repeaters and Battery Eater
This is a great app in so many ways, after all it keeps you right on the money for all the up to date info on our favourite team. But the writers are lazy, they just reproduce years old stories of players who have long left Liverpool and try to slant them as of any interest to the reader. The app itself is a ‘battery nightmare’. Either through ads or poor programming it just eats your battery. Look at it for 20 minutes at your peril, a freshly charged phone will be at 20% before you know it!
Poor update
Video,s don’t work on the iPad very disappointing, they update the app and make it worse
M
We’ll put together and passionate and partisan reporters. Often has a few grammar mistakes and the app has frequent technical issues with the ‘Live’ feature. All are minor niggles and doesn’t distract from the content.
Comments not allowed
For some reason the app has started telling me that my comments are using words that aren’t allowed. I never use language that would be insulting or inappropriate so this is rather confusing.
App review
Generally a very nice app although I would like to see two amendments centred around the Echo videos. 1. The date and time that the video was made needs to be added 2. Sometimes the videos contain older content than the text on the website or app. eg you read text in the afternoon stating LFC have bid on a player yet the guys in the video state that there has been no official bid made (probably because the video was made the previous day or on that morning).
On iPad
Unlike iPhone version it does not display up to date news, i.e. it displays what was shown when previously opened. Therefore, in order to to see up to date content I have to delete the app and reload.
Haydn
Great, accurate and up-to-the-minute info for ardent LFC fans!
Very poor since last update.
Articles disappear, the app is jumpy and when you go to live feed it takes ages to load. The comments section is vile. How some comments are allowed is beyond me. People slagging each other off or this paper and others associated with this paper. It’s time the comments section was closed permanently. I can’t give zero stars otherwise I would’ve. I’ve wrote the same for the daily mirror plus the Liverpool echo too.
Good apps on LFC news
Good to hv to read Liverpool news
Great sports journalism let down by bad app
As title says, the quality of articles is top notch with insights and reports from some of the most respected journalists in the UK. The app however, is let down by the fact push notifications don’t link back to relevant articles. You have to manually filter through content to find them, making the user experience frustrating.
From a distance!!
Up to date, informative, with an honest community feel!! Well done !! YNWA
The LIVERPOOL echo NOT the Manchester echo
Write more about Liverpool f c and stop writing about the Manchester clubs as not bothered about them. It’s called the Liverpool echo yet your journalists seem more bothered about Manchester.
Great app!
User friendly and the articles are written in depth. 👍
Poor after recent update
Whilst the content is a good as ever the app keeps on freezing and needs to forcibly shut down to get it to work. Poor update but still top quality content.
