In depth news
The KING 5 app allows viewers news at their convenience. Our premier station!
New App
A huge joke, terrible to say the least, don’t wast your time trying to read it , who ever runs should be fired , King you are a embarrassment to Seattle!!!
Very informative and clear.
As above.
Weather update
I’m not happy with the recent changes to the weather section. I used to read the detailed weather forecast every day, and now it’s nowhere to be found. It’s been replaced by a weather forecaster’s 20-second summary of the weather via shaky handheld phone, which is not insightful at all.
Can't Read
The font size is so small that even with reading glasses I find it difficult to read. Ai least give me the option to zoom in?
Informative
Sends news right away and with great detail. Nice layout. I enjoy it.
They start each program with littaly 5 minutes of ads 30 seconds was ok but this is terrible
It has almost all the good features of tv app except for the ability to skip adds
Update Bad
I loved this app until this morning. No more seagull and app won’t load on any device.
No navigation after clicking on articles
The navigation bar is lost after I click on a news article. I have to close the app and restart after every article that’s opened. I don’t see any settings that appear to control this.

Horrible update
The redesigned app lacks a basic menu, search bar and dark mode. The ads are invasive. There’s no way to search for a story or find articles about your favorite team. For a news organization that prides themselves on excellence, their app is a massive miss.
New App Update/Platform Unusable
I love watching King 5 everyday, starting my day with it, driving to work, going home etc. Ever since they updated the app with this new platform there are so many glitches and I feel like I can’t watch live news anymore. Terrible AI ads, and won’t play through a whole video. Yes I’ve reset my phone, deleted the app/re-downloaded. I’m 25 years old so if it’s difficult for me to navigate then I wonder what that’s like for others. I rarely make reviews so I hope they tells you something King 5
No dark mode?
Overall the new layout with this update seems good but not allowing a profile setting option for dark mode makes the app almost unusable at night which is when I usually read the news.
Tv
My fubo don’t have channel 5.
New App SUCKS
The new app update that completely redesigned the app is total garbage. A huge down-grade, full of spam advertisements, terrible loading times, ugly layout and sloppy looking articles. Looks more like a knock-off click-bait news source now, not an actual place for reliable information.
There is no Quality Control review
Instead of reviewing the updates’ performance on updates on several different phones, the developers keep throwing out updated versions and say they’ve working on it. Here’s an idea—do the QC reviews BEFORE you post the updates. The latest version looks terrible on my iPhone. Sentences are cut off at the edges, once you click on a story there’s no way to go back to the homepage, and they hid the buttons to go back after viewing videos (I found it by accident). KING-TV has the best local news and the worst app, while KOMO-TV has the worst local news and the best app.
Search Feature Missing
I like that I can watch a live airing as well and lots of random updates that aren’t always covered on the news via tv. But looking for something specific is important. I tried to find a recent story from a notification on my phone but when I clicked on the notification 12-hours later, the page that came up was the live news. Can you please include the search feature again please?
Straight talk
I enjoy listening to there news. I also believe that is true and not manipulating it to fit the politics.
Fonts are a Mess!
Headline fonts are gigantic and article text fonts are teeny tiny making text almost impossible to read. Text font size doesn’t respond to iPhone text size changes either. Recent app updates are a disaster making the app useless. AND the news is very stale these days!
More ads than content
I had to go through 3 ads to get to a story that didn’t have any actual content.
Format changed
Something changed about the layout and look of the app and now everything is cut off on the edges of the screen. I’ve tried updating the app, uninstalling and reinstalling, it just cuts off the edges all around (new iPhone 17) the old app layout was just fine. Now it feels like a poorly formatted website instead.
Good app
Gives me all the info I want
Updated app sucks
I used to regularly check the King 5 for local news updates and weather. The updated and remodeled app has made the whole experience not worth my time. Clunky, not intuitive, and frustrating. Bye, local news. ☹️
Terrible App Design
Needs a redo on the design. The articles are hard to see quickly. It’s a lot of scrolling. Mix of relevant news is poor. I’m about to delete it cause it’s irritating to use now than the last version.
Meh
The app is good for a general roundup of what’s going on in town, but not worth anything beyond that. Read the headlines alone and move on to more trustworthy sources.

Bring back dark mode!
Update: Forced to use the light mode on this app can be managed, but seeing nearly pornographic ai generated ads on this news app, with NO way of reporting these ads, is very disturbing. Why am I being subjected to pillows and clothes meant to look like female intimate anatomy in ads. Absolutely shameful King 5 and Tegna, do better. Been using this app for nearly 6 years now, they finally updated the app a few days ago and my god is it unusable. Forced white background, unable to conform with my devices local dark mode strings is very troubling to me, as I use white text on a black background due to a visual impairment, but unfortunately this app, King 5, and Tegna don’t care about disabled Americans being able to consume news. Absolutely shameful, and to think I’ve always considered King 5 to be the preeminent news service in the region; I cannot in good conscience continue to believe and recommend that to others when they so blatantly disregard the accessibility needs to their disabled readers. Absolutely SHAMEFUL! DO BETTER
Empty
Empty of any real news. This weekend I opened it to expect to find stories about Venezuela and all I see are like 15 news stories which most are duplicative of the one above at times two stories on the same topic. Seahawks, mecer island, and Seattle shootings. The only story headline on Venezuela was one about the dems blasting the operation and lawmakers offer mixed reaction. Zero story!! And King5 is telling me that basically in the western Washington region there is absolutely nothing going on because the stories are static and have zero substance. I plan to delete and try another local one and hopefully it will be a little bit better.

Unnecessary Update
A lot of features that were convenient and had me using the app suddenly no longer exist. Clips and segments have completely replaced long form videos and entire broadcast. I wish the reel/tiktok tab had just been an addition instead of a replacement for videos.
No more dark mode support
App is now screaming bright. I read my news at night and will switch to news apps that respect peoples’ night vision. None of my other apps have that problem, so it can’t be be blamed on iOS.
Best On The West Coast
Born here and lived here my entire life, seen others in my travels none better than KING 5.
Latest upgrade is horrible
I frequently watch older newscasts (like from the Friday night if I’m watching on Saturday morning) and the new “upgrade” makes this impossible.
App not working with Apple TV is 26.0.1 needs updating please

Jjj
Huh Uh Huh
New look
The new look is annoying and not user friendly at all!
Can’t watch a 1 min video without 2-3 ads. It’s all depressing anyway
