What people like
- Great data for all Hornady bullets.
- Easy to use and fast.
- Cheaper than buying hard copies.
- Portable reference for any location.
What they complain about
- App crashes and won't open.
- Login issues lock you out.
- Lost purchases after updating or logging in.
- Ads interrupt your reloading process.
Great App
Perfect for references.
Buy other brands
I won’t buy both your bullets and your app. I’ll switch to another manufacturer instead.
Please add reference materials
Please add a powder rate burn chart for reference
Glitchy
Get errors most of the time when opening.
A little Clunky
The app is a little tedious to switch between different bullet types. A back button would be useful.
On line manual
Its nice to have all the Hornady reloading data on my computer so I can print as much or just a page.
Money trap
Can’t do anything without paying. Use a different site
Works alright
My experience has been that the app brings value to my life because I like the interface and ability to look up Load data on here. However to access the features and load data I want I’ve had to pay a price that should at least include a hard copy of their material. Coupled hassle with LOCKOUTS do to account confusion on both sides and random loss of data I’ll give it a 2 out of 10.
Love Hornady but App needs help
Love the amount of data in the app it’s got everything you need but the user interface needs improvement. It’s slow and lags. No easy way to go back to previous screen. There is cool sections like “owned” cartridge list but no way to actually add them to the list. It’s the only app I pay for and for $20/year I keep expecting to see these improvements but it’s been the same for years.
Password issues
I’m having a hard time getting into the app even with a saved password, I have old versions of the hard cover book all the way to version 8, I can’t justify to spend 65 bucks on Hornady’s website, love their bullets and every components for reloading, but it comes down to the apps ( reloading and ballistic calculators ) no to happy, it seem a bit wonky
Reputation
Classic, Superb, Reliable, Practical and PRECISE quality control.
Login issues
Not sure if my login is from the app or iPad but I always have to enter everything in each and every time I open
Would like to see local device data storage
Would like to see local device data storage, admittedly not a problem everywhere in the world. Having connectivity issues on a regular basis means I'm often unable to use the app. Please add an option to store some data on local device to resolve.
Great when it works
I really hate to give this app a 2 star review but I’m starting to get fed up with it. I paid for the 11th edition book on the app. Which is fine and dandy but majority of the time the app won’t let me in. I’m to the point of just going and buying a hard back even though I’ve already paid for this.
I Love Hornady
I love almost everything about Hornady: projectiles, Superformance powder, ammunition, and case prep. Unfortunately, the amount of load data available for different powders and various amazing Hornady projectiles, is woefully lacking. Hornady already has a collaboration with Hodgdon; use their data where necessary until you do your own. And make Hornady’s reloading App more interactive like the “Gree n S” projectile company’s app with their different bullets.
Easy to compare
Fast and easy access to everything. Wish the powder lists were as complete as the hard copy.
Error
Won’t load. I might like it otherwise.
Nothing more than what’s in the book…
very disappointing. My book is years old and data are the same. Not even an update on powders. 2 stars for being consistent. Not worth the money to buy data !!!
Constant Issues
I cant use 4dof app because there is an ad pop-up that comes up and wont go away. Even if i watch the video, like the ad and click on some products it won’t go away!!!!!
Seems to be missing support
App hasn’t been working for awhile
Great
Ty
Bugs
Has many bugs in it. Rarely works correctly
App Crashes
I haven’t been able to use the app for a week, it’s doesn’t work . Please fix it . It tells me that there is an unknown error in my request .
Inconsistent
App frequently does not open and provides an incomprehensible message about tokens.
Solid Reference
When the app works it’s a great guide. Had a few issues but other than that it’s handy and well written.
Love the online reloading guide!
I have a few manuals in my library and data rarely changed from one edition to the next. But powders become unavailable, new ones are introduced. Buying the loads one cartridge at a time makes a ton of sense for me as I load maybe a half dozen. Inexpensive and I like knowing I do have the latest data, just in case. Superb value, very easy to use!
What they DON’T tell you
Honestly, you pay for the app, then you pay for the reload data for all cartridges or just the ones you load. Suddenly the 12th edition comes out and now they will not let you access the 11th at all. This is greedy and selfish behavior to an extreme. It’s not legal liability or they would be liable for their printed volumes. People hang onto their old printed copies for many reasons and I should be able to with the digital versions. You can bet I will not patronize them again and I urge you to get a printed book as the price isn’t all that different and it’s YOURS.
Error logging in
my login info isn't valid even with resets. Have to song and dance to view my account.
Good When It Works
I can’t open my app anymore for some reason. An “unknown error” occurred. Can’t seem to access any of my load data.
Hornady bullets
Lots of powder for all Hornady bullets. I have had success with lowering the SD over factory ammo but I have had to be meticulously in case prep and powder measurements
Password problem
Will not send link to reset password even though they claim that they have. Waste of money I recommend sticking to hard copy’s.
Crashes frequently
Frequent crashes of app require deleting the app and reinstalling. While it has kept me signed in, it “looses” my purchases (the 11th edition manual) and try’s to get me to purchase the complete manual again.
Not all powders are on this app
I paid to get the calibers I needed only to find the powder I have been using isn’t on there. No CFE223 at 50Gr vmax sadly.
Love the app
The handbook on hand everywhere you go love it
Where is the book copy
The subscription used to come with a hard copy of the book. Its a bit of a letdown thats not part of the deal anymore. Might as well just get the book.
Please fix the 9mm crash
Every time I try to open the 9mm reloading data, the app closes. Please fix this! It’s a useful app, and my rifle data is all saved. Will amend my rating once issue is resolved.
6.5 eldx
No reloading data for a lot of eldx bullets
Won’t open
I used it now app won’t open and I’m upset that it won’t open after spending good money on it. It’s a 5 star when working but no star when broken.
No updates
Is this app even supported anymore?
Great when it works
Extremely buggy. Half the time it fails to open. Seems glitchy.
Great App
This is a great app. It provides the information I need at my finger tips. You can’t find a better reloading app than this one.
Lost all data
My app kicked me out and made me sign back in, when I did all my data and purchases were gone and it wants me to pay for all of them again, that ain’t happening
Glitch
Nice manual when it was working properly. I can no longer see the decimal side of the charge weight on the normal screen view. If I go to landscape on my phone I can see the decimal however it won’t scroll over so I can see all charge weights
