This app used to be so good. Too bad they got greedy.
Could be amazing
Amigo has a great concept, but needs much better execution. All the features are exactly what I want a travel app to do, but none work well enough to use IRL. Populating trips w potential destinations is extremely time consuming, and actually not worth doing, since it’s almost impossible to see all of your “wishlist” in one place. The feature I wanted to love most is the map with pins showing all scheduled or “wishlist”-ed destinations, so that I could easily see what was nearby, and visit them as my schedule allows. I didn’t realize until I tried to use the map on my first Amigo-assisted trip that the map doesn’t have enough detail to see where the destinations are, outside of their general neighborhood/vicinity, certainly no turn by turn assistance or even a name/listed address. Lastly, unless you’re ready to schedule your entire itinerary, sharing “wishlist”-ed destinations with your “Amigos” is impossible. Amigo! Please hire some great developers! I don’t care at all about influencer/sponsored content and bland suggestions, I really want your tech to work - it’s so close to being exactly what I am looking for!

The actual idea of the app is great bht how it works is not. Constant errors and having to uninstall and reinstall the app to use it.

I love this app ! Unfortunately, the UX UI experience is not as good as it can be, is there an update in the pipe ?
Glitchy
Joined a year ago and I’m experiencing the same glitches I did then. Uploading is painful. No engagement and not many reviews and recommendations for popular destinations. I can only guess most people have given up and stopped using it.
Desktop Version Would be Appreciated
It’s a handy app but really wish there was a desktop version so that you could build your trip “on the big screen” and then be able to be on the go with the app.
AmiGo till I die
The best app for exploring a new city, country, or even discovering local gems. I’ve had the app for about a year now; planned several day trips and international jaunts with it by my side. Of course, always check the area a new place is in, do your due diligence, but this app saves countless hours and because it is curated I have had maybe only one failed rec. It is still a little glitchy at times, but like wine, that will get better with age. No matter if you are travelling near or far, trust, you need AmiGo in your life.
Buggy app
Great concept let down by serious UI issues. Posts not saving properly, image selection glitchy, edits get lost into thin air.

Love it. Just wish it ran faster as the load time on browse and photo upload is a bit pesky.
Fix glitches
Love the concept of Amigo but the app seriously needs improvements… so glitchy & slow. It crashes whenever I try and upload photos.
Nice but
Really good idea and good community !! BUT should definitely have a map research system to easily find the reco around the place we currently are. For the moment we have to search (for each spot) if by any chance it is close by … Take to much time to really be efficient !!

Tastemakers fill the gap for poor user experience
The user experience is terrible. They launched a “premium” version recently and all their emails link out to articles behind a paywall. The only reason it’s helpful is because of the tastemakers inputting recommendations. A lot of this information can be found on instagram and substack now though. The app is nice as it removes the search and is helpful for organizing.
Slow and very incomplete
I don’t know if it’s my phone or the app but I’ve had this app for eight hours and it’s been very frustrating, not very user friendly and lacking a lot of basic destinations or venues. I’ve even found some pretty lame spelling mistakes. I guess because it was invite only I thought it would be top tier. It has not been this far and my time is too precious to waste on slow, less than optimal apps. Disappointed.
The best app for travel recommendations
Such an easy and effective app! I love it! I use it when I’m at home or when I travel. It’s so helpful to find the best places to stay, eat, see and shop! So thoughtful and intuitive! Love the ratings and comments! This is a must application for anyone who loves to travel and explore the world with honest genuine advice from friends and family and influencers
Unusable
Great app ruined by a subscription model.
Nice concept, but app is clunky and still needs a lot of work
Good concept but the app itself is pretty bad to the point that it’s unusable at this stage. It’s very slow and the filters don’t work at all. The locations are sometimes inaccurate. I was going to use it for a recent trip but I eventually gave up on it due it’s usability issues.
A Godsend!
I love this App. It’s a Godsend in travel planning! So easy to use and such a breath of information on restaurants hotels and area attractions! A must download for any traveler!
Super laggy
Great app however it’s super super slow and crashes all the time. Takes forever to upload images and filter through recommendations. App is just generally slow which is unfortunate because it’s super useful. App often crashes and quits mid way through upload / search. This has been happening for 4 - 6 months each time since I download it.
New Favorite App
An absolute must-have ! AmiGo is such an amazing app for trusted recs all over the world, and I love how I can keep track of all the places I've been and find inspiration for future trips - even for local spots near me!

Slow and clunky
Thought I’d try it out but really unusable. It’s slow and not well made as many things don’t even work, I’m on an iPhone 15 pro. Deleted.

This app is incredibly helpful. It helps you plan any trip in advance but the excellent map feature enables you to also make plans on the go. I have used in several countries and the recommendations have been consistently excellent. Very reliable. Download this app now!!!
Waiting list
Being waiting to get approved for nearly 2 weeks. Seriously? They must have an endless waiting list. Or this app does not need to have active users or - last option- it is not that inclusive. I will stop waiting and delete it.
Amazing travel app
I absolutely love using Amigo when I travel. It has the best recommendations and is super easy to use. I love having my recommended restaurants, shops, museums, etc all in one place. I plan to use this app for all of my future trips!!!!
I want to love it
Just joined and I absolutely love the concept and idea, however the app is SUPER glitchy and it kicks me off every 5-10 mins. Not so ideal when you are exploring, inviting new users and getting to know. It is also slightly confusing with little to know explanation - why some people have amiGos which are friend’s and others only have followers and why you can follow users, but not be their amiGos...? Also some users have the blue badge like IG as a verified user I guess, but will have no content and little to no followers or amiGos making one wonder what it all means and how one has the blue badge rating? Otherwise it has massive potential and I’m hoping the issues and bugs will be worked out.
