NO NOT FOR ME
I scanned my dog Chloe and I wanted to see if it was right it was not right. It’s that it said all the breeds except hers she is a coonhound mixed with basset hound she’s nothing like the breeds that it said so that’s why I’m leaving a bad review

My dog called Holly is a Boxer pedigree and it identified her as an American Bulldog and an Olde English Bulldog and a Mastiff.

Iffy identification.
I tried this on two dogs, a purebred and a Pyrenean Shepherd mix. It identified the purebred as a mix. It called the mix a purebred Chinese Crested; not even in the same AKC breed group.
Its ok
The app is alright… I scan my dog and it did not have the breed that he was. He is a Bernie’s mountain dog mixed with a (bernedoodle) and that was not on there. Other than that the app is alright. I did send in a request to have it pit on there.

This is so good I scan all of my puppies and dogs and they both got the percentages right I don’t understand how this app works how can a phone scan these kind of things but anyway I read this a 10 out of 10 stars five this is perfect!
Absolute Dumpster Fire!
I’ve been on dog socials for a while now and when my previous social got shut down, I downloaded DS to keep up with friends. People here are insane! Dog Scanner is known across many socials as the dumpster fire of a pet social. There are young children running wild, almost no moderation (aside from censoring certain words, which is extremely easy to bypass), *extremely* inappropriate ads, and so much unbelievable content. The advertisements also promote several unethical practices, and I get recommended backyard breeders on the regular. Furthermore, the homophobia on this app is disgusting, and several users have told LGBTQ+ members many horrible comments that I shall not repeat. Please, for the love of anything, stay away from this app. Also the dog identification doesn’t even work. It just uses AI and gives you a random percentage of what breed your dog looks most like 🙏

This app is okay
I used it was sort of accurate by saying my dog was poodle but he is also lhapso apso and Cocker Spaniel so I don't know how accurate this app really is also it crashes too often!!! I do not really recommend this app!!!

Very fun app but invasive ads
This is a fun app, and it gives accurate assumptions. Really liked that it could look as multiple photos at once to improve the accuracy a bit more. The ads are ridiculous though: long videos, no skip option, tiny Xs you need to tap to end them— and they pop up after each action, it’s just too much for completely irrelevant ads.

I’d say it’s true for my Saint Bernard. I’m surprised that my American bulldog came out as multiple dog breeds. I tried my friends and we aren’t sure it’s true. It comes up with different ones every time.
Great Capabilities but Excessive Adds
This app is really clever and gives great dog identifications but the adds are so annoying. Each time it completes a task, you get an add. Adds that you need to wait a few seconds before you can exit. That made me uninstall. I’ll look for another with less advertising ✌🏼

Doesn’t function at all!
Very accurate as I can see
We have a Siberian agouti coloured husky and did it 3 times and every time was over like 98% Siberian husky. We also have a border collie from wales who looked like she had something smaller in her because she’s small and come up as 86% border collie 14% welsh corgi would explain why she’s small and last but not least we have a lab cross who vets guessed border collie/lab/whippet the app said Labrador/collie/whippet. And we’re currently fostering a dog from Romania which we couldn’t guess her breed we scanned it come up with a few and all of the breeds looked like her or had similarities. Amazing app. Sent it friends and they tried and all there’s came back accurate too.

App started crashing. Disappointing because it used to work well.
Helpful but not necessary if you have an iPhone
A few months ago, I found a beautiful dog that was apparently just dropped off at our house! She immediately took to, of course I was the one who found her and fed her, but she’s a sweet dog but hasn’t really taken to anyone else and if she knows that you don’t belong there she barks and is really skittish of you! I thought that she was a blue heeler but was pretty sure that she was a mix and I found your app so out of curiosity I downloaded it! Your app said that she was an Australian stumpy tail cattle dog 90% and Australian cattle dog 9%! I wasn’t sure that was correct because she definitely has a tail! So, I used a picture that clearly shows her tail and it said Australian stumpy tail cattle dog 65%, Australian cattle dog 23% and Australian kelpie 5%! Then a friend told me that if you tap the i under the picture on your iPhone that it will tell you information about the picture, so I did that! It told me that she is an Australian cattle dog and a Dutch shepherd dog, which actually makes more sense because she has a tail and she loves to run and chase birds and rabbits, etc. So, I figured out that although this app can be helpful, if you have an iPhone then you don’t need this app! But at least it gives something to research and learn more!

It’s an amazing app and when I read the reviews most of them where great reviews and I knew I had to get this app it works great and it is so helpful I have 5 rescue dogs and I really did not know what breed they where and this app just scanned it and identified it.its so cool and I would recommend it to anyone with dogs 100%

Not sure at all how accurate. It gets me closer to an educated guess, which is what I wanted. So I’m happy with another opinion or 3, since I ran a few scans on each new dog. THANK YOU for being free!!! You are useful & make me happy. A win-win! Have never DNAd any dogs, because I’m not sure of their accuracy either, as know someone who sent to 2 different companies to get different results.

You don't need to pay for premium there is a way to trust pass it... I ain't tellin you figure it out. And it's very accurate
Nearly Useless
The app crashes constantly, and the accuracy if the scans is woefully deficient. I own a dog grooming, daycare, and boarding shop, so I tested it out on dogs that I know the lineage of. It failed miserably unless the dog in question was a purebred, in which case it is correct about 6 out of 10 times.
It works
My dog is a mutt but looks identical to a hovawart and it identifies her as a hovawart, I also did it on my friends dog which is a Bernese mountain dog , it got it right, so it works.
Umm interesting
So I scanned some images of my dog, a young Bernese mountain dog - mostly the app thought mixed breed, a couple of images were thought to be a 35% chance of BMD. Could be fun to guess ancestors of mixed breeds, but if it can’t spot recognised breeds, not got much hope of any accuracy. Too many adverts or games to download when I try and report accuracy. Not sure whether it will improve or not, but not worth paying for an ad free version.
Told me my dog is a cat
Apparently my dog is a cat now. It said that my cat thinks that is a dog when I do not have a cat I have a husky. It was quite accurate with other dogs but got one wrong.
