Stepping outside my bubble
My first “breakfast “ experience was great. Meet a very interesting person, i felt comfortable easily. Hes been to breakfast a lit of time and I learned more about the app.
Horrible
What a terrible app. So cheaply made. And the recommendations are not good. Maybe they don’t have enough clients. But giving men my grandfathers age the opportunity to hit on me with their algorithm is just gross.
Interesting but needed a trial
The app looks & feel pretty good, I was quite invested with in it, but I would need to try it once to see if the subscription is worth. Paying without seeing the value doesn’t hit with me. But interesting concept.
Disappointed
Absolutely love the concept, but extremely expensive. I paid £22 a month as I wanted to try it before committing to a quarterly/yearly tier, and the value for money is non-existant. One match a day that doesn’t even match back is a strange concept: if the app is in charge of deciding who should match, perhaps doing so based on interests to allow better chances to match might help? Also, of all of the people I interacted with (which weren’t many considering the price), quite a few suggested meeting but not for breakfast, which defeats the purpose of the app. Not worth £22 per month, a lot more expensive than most other social apps out there, for not much value. The concept of breakfast is really great, but the system behind the app isn’t working. If one has to factor in the concept of “number’s game” in chances of matching with people, there needs to be a lot more people to match with than one person a day. Add to that people who bail, don’t respond or want to meet for coffee instead, the concept doesn’t hold.
Thx for wasting my time
I’ve just spent 15 minutes on filling the profile to find out that my city (Copenhagen!) isn’t launched yet. I kind of understand the point of your politics, but maybe re-think the complicity of this path, because it is annoying.
Breakfast that never happens
The app is great, they are always doing updates to improve the functionality. The concept of meet up is unique and intriguing. I like that it’s intentionally not free, to sort of gather people who actually going to participate. But in the big city like NY it doesn’t work. It back fires in NY since people pay for a subscription and then are too busy to text back. And when they do answer its to either just to chat or plan something they will cancel later. So far out of 12 people I got matched with, only 4 people answered and no breakfasts yet.

“Daily” is missleading
I’ve been on this app for about a year in two of the most populated cities in the US. I keep the chancing round switch turned on daily, but it only finds a potential match every other day and in some cases every three days. I can count on one hand the times that it found a potential match on back to back days. This is a thinly veiled way to stretch out your membership fee. Because of this, I’ve had breakfast with maybe one or two people a month with a match that showed mutual interest or didn’t flake on me. Not really worth the money.
great for meating new people
I was on the app when you could refure to have a breakfast and immediately search for new person. Later app switched to 1 person per 24h and search begin in the morning. No options to refure Outcome? a lot of people click on "let's have a breakfast" and silence. they don't answers etc thinking if they didn't click the system punish them. rate of actual breakfast decrease for me by 70%!!! there should be solution for that! also, before having a filter set for search lead to better choices, I found a great people at that time who still in my life. after change - 50% of people treat app as dating or people choice would be very out of range. p.s. waiting when multi-people (4-6 ) breakfast would be a feature)

Not worth the price point
It’s practically like a dating app. People match and never talk. The point of this app should be to remove the friction of logistics. If I have to make all the effort of scheduling a get together and break ice, why an I paying for this subscription?
Dating
The possibility of misusing this app as a dating app still exists. I wish the developers would provide solutions for this because finding people to date is something I can do for free on Tinder.
I am so disappointed
I’ve never left a review for an app before, but I think is worth it, in case anyone else is in the same situation as me. I’m in a secure relationship, so I was looking for platonic female friendships—women who genuinely value sisterhood and aren’t just using friendship as a placeholder while recovering from their last breakup. I came across a physical flyer for this app and thought, Wow, this looks interesting. The layout, the tagline—everything pulled me in. I was sold. I understand what they’re trying to do, but in reality, I haven’t matched with a single person I’d actually want to be friends with. Also, only receiving one match every 24 hours feels incredibly limiting, especially for a paid subscription. If they want to charge users, they should offer more than that. I ended up canceling my subscription, and I won’t be using this app again. I’m genuinely disappointed. I wasn’t sure how the app worked at first, but I hope they eventually figure it out—not for me, but for someone else who might download it hoping for real, meaningful connections
Lots of bugs
For a paid app, it has serious quality issues: push notifications won’t open, UI alignment problems.
best networking app ever
game changer! I’ve met more than 20 people on Breakfast and at least 5 of them became my close friends. I’ve never seen anything so effective for me. I use it since they had pay-per-breakfast monetization (probably 4 years).
Not worth it
I was served an Instagram ad for this app and thought it sounded interesting, so I paid for a subscription for one month. I’ve been on it for two weeks and haven’t had breakfast with anyone yet. I only matched with one person, who sent one message and then disappeared. Of the other possible connections, half were people I had no interest in, and the other half didn’t connect with me and expired. I’ve mainly used the “more similar to me” option, but have also tried the “more different/diverse” option. Both have yielded people who are not like me at all; no similarities in industry or anything we like to do. I’d love to say this app was worth it, but unfortunately it’s a total waste of time and money. Save both and don’t do it.
Apps nice community is flaky
Could just be a SF and NY thing but found people to be super flaky when trying to connect.

This app is pure meh…trouble giving it 2 stars, but maybe in some other markets it would be more useful/live up to the hype.
Updates too often
Are you even able to make backward compatible updates? I don’t open the app that often, but everytime I do it requires me to update. Your release notes are garbage too.
Great app, interesting people
i like how you only have one person option per 24 hours. the result is a thoughtful and slow process - a big advantage over dating apps with a million options without limitations
A mess
Never even got around to the matches, the app is unintuitive, broken, and overall unusable. Deleted it but unfortunately still can’t stop the company spam. Annoying experience all around!

Хочу сказати свою думку, бо мені серце крається, і може хтось ще так думає, і тоді ви візьмете це до уваги) Брекфест - крутезний додаток, він дає те, чого не дає жоден інший: можливість спілкуватися вживу та прайвасі! Я коли дізналася, що я можу рандомно зустрітися з людиною не зі свого кола і в моєму колі людей про це знатимуть тільки ті, кому я скажу… Боже, та це ж мрія! І я памʼятаю, яким був додаток спочатку, хоч були іноді баги, зате я мала 100% приватність. Спочатку в додатку додали оцей кружечок (жовтий, жовтий з червоним і без)… типу, чому користувачі мають знати який план в мене проплачено? Навіщо це? Все-одно це бачать тільки ті, хто мені вибився як метч на день, або ті, з ким я вже була на брекфесті. Але я от наприклад не хочу, щоб хтось з тих людей з ким я вже була на брекфесті знав, який у мене план проплачений чи ні… Але ок, це така дрібничка, у мене промайнула ця думка і я тоді подумала, що це не смертельно😅 Наступним було те, що в додатку почало показувати нових користувачів в моєму місті. Я про це дізналася, бо мені вибилася моя подруга, я їй про це написала і вона була теж така тіпа якого хєра, це схоже на те, як тобі в інсті пропонують твоїх друзів, яких ти заблочила на старому аккаунті… І моя подруга псіханула і видалилася з додатку, тому це не тільки мені не подобається) Але найбільше мені не подобається ось це ваше останнє оновлення, де чомусь в аккаунті показуються люди, з якими я була на брекфесті. Ну це взагалі неповага! Уявіть якби в телеграмі всім вашим контактам показувало з ким ви тільки що переписувалися, зідзвонювалися чи гуляли… ну що ж це таке Карочє ось так) Буду рада, якщо ви візьмете це до уваги♥️
Great idea! But PLEASE offer it everywhere!
One year later.. Still no love for anyone who doesn’t live in a major city. Deleted. Waste of time. Update To the Developer Response: Yes, I get that. But that doesn’t address the issue that if you don’t list all cities/towns (you could even allow people to type in their own via an “Other” option), then people will select the nearest city to them, which artificially inflates the number of users in an actual city to higher than it really is.. causing usability issues when people want to meet up, but their potential companions are hours away.. You’re causing a problem by not anticipating the use scenario you’re forcing people to adopt. Please fix this so that your app succeeds and doesn’t flop. Original Review: HUGE PROBLEM with the rollout of this app: ONLY big cities are listed, and will only be launched when the number reaches 150ish signups. Well guess what? When you don’t allow people to sign up for where they ACTUALLY LIVE, they’re going to pick the closest city, like me, even if it’s hours away. So what happens when you “launch” that city? And the vast majority of people live nowhere near the actual launch place? And this app falls flat on its face/goes nowhere because of shortsighted app development/planning? C’mon guys! Get it together! This is a GREAT idea, and has SO much potential! Just open it up to all towns/locations! I’m not saying launch them all right away. It will take longer for the lower populated areas to reach the same number of signups (perhaps think about having lower threshold for small towns?), but this would allow the actual cities, and the residents in them, to find actual locals who live there, not folks who want to be a part of this app, but are forced to list a location that’s not easy to drive just for breakfast… Food for thought! Closest city you guys list is over an hour away from me.. I’d really like to meet folks locally, in my small town. Why is everything always just for the cities? I LOVE what this app has the potential to be. Just please offer it to more folks in more places!
Quite buggy
The app which user has to pay for 10$ a month and get a few chancea a month it's way toooo buggy. Always. Though I like the idea. And pls consider returning an option 'we won't have a breakfast'

Hi, the app is great, the concept and quality of people you meet is outstanding ✌️ It might be even better in UI, as for me if: - it remembers last diversity/similarity choice and let me slide only once - main slider to find a chance, as for now I just forget to slide second time and hit the button, after first slide I just automatically swipe it to background - it lets multiple profile pictures - has more interest categories, like fishing, music styles etc - has only one slider control or at least allows slider ends taps to switch position, as for now after breakfast feedback is a pain. Slider is not boolean control, it is designed to set a value from range Thanks! )
Matches weighted into certain racial group
The reason I decided to try this app was because I live in a huge, diverse major city and have difficulty finding people I share cultural similarity. Despite having emphasized cultural similarity in BOTH the wording of my profile AND in each of my daily submission to the 'algorithm', only 1 out if 9 matches so far are ANYTHING close to 'culturally similar'. I tried to delete my profile but haven't succeeded yet. Totally not renewing the subscription with monthy payment of $16&change.

Have to areange brea
The Timeleft app does a much better job in letting you meet new people. What I find not ideal with this app: - having a one to one breakfast with someone you don’t know feels like a big commitment - high number of flakes. Tried to arrange something but the conversation just drops if you reply slightly late or if the other person lost interest. would be better if the app pre-arrange the breakfast instead of the participants.

Not ready for prime time
The app is basic. And doesn’t have enough people, at least not in my city, to make it worthwhile the price. They should have offered it for much cheaper to get more people in first. I mean after 3 suggestions it already is saying that it couldn’t find a potential!! Do they have less than a 100 in my city, which is why they are rationing? Anyhow, cancelled it because ABSOLUTELY not worth it.

Openness is calculated?
Great concept in theory and the marketing of the app was so great it made me subscribe. It was clear within the first month that people flaked and weren’t willing to make the first move. Things for improvement - don’t make openness a calculated score. It’s weird and defeats the purpose of the app. Customer service even went to so far as to blame my openness as the reason for not getting any breakfasts (strange…) - preview chats if people send one before connecting - ability to filter through gender of the person at least for the first meetup for safety reasons - allow for more areas of common interest in the bio like music or tv shows or something that is not so network focused - lower subscription for first month. It’s hard putting blind faith in something and now on my second month I regretted paying so much for not even one successful breakfast. - have people put their general availabilities to encourage people to actually meet up
12.99 to use the app
Well designed app with good intentions but 12.99 to find a match without trials is a bit of a reach. Not sure if this strategy is the right one for the app, at least not for me.

Needs Work
App needs improvements. 1)The list of choices should allow you to go to your pending matches right away, you have to navigate a lot. 2) When you try to remove a person who ghosted you but still in your list, the remove dropdown does not work. 3) Every time you open the app it asks you about your city. If you are in the States most likely you will look for people to have breakfast in your vicinity. It is not well designed UI to ask that every time. Save the default and give an option somewhere in the dropdown selections. 4) 24 hrs is too limiting. Someone maybe traveling, overseas, etc. Make it 48. Overall I am not happy about the match algorithms. The diversity is not diverse, most people you are matched are in tech. It is probably the pool of people in te SF Bay area are techies and nothing else… I have not had a single breakfast and not happy that I have wasted my money.
Want to love it but-
I downloaded this app when I was in Portugal and it was amazing for meeting people, but the app itself is so glitchy, it makes me not want to use it. I can’t get rid of the small notification symbol next to the app on my Home Screen no matter which message I open, or notification I adknowledge- I also match with people who don’t answer and when I click “we won’t have breakfast” it brings them back into my chats. There are so many people in there I never met up with, but can’t delete. It’s a nice idea, but the app is messy and I have gotten minimal returns from it since returning to New York.

Tried the app, it’s very glitchy and annoying to use. Failed to set up any breakfasts. Cannot recommend.

tried uploading three different photos and all failed despite strong wifi connection on my end. (iphone 13, ios 16.2) :( beautiful design though!
Need to wait for a full-scale launch
I used the app in ante-war Russia and it was actually awesome. I had the best matches and made a couple of lasting friendships. Community around the app was very good. It really had a very positive effect on my life. Now in the UK it’s very weird: you pay insane money, wait for a match for weeks and if the person never answers you, you are still charged. Support says they plan to turn off the ability to look for matches in London as there are very few people. It’s probably a reasonable thing to do, but I’d rather wait for a match, even if it takes weeks, but knowing that I won’t pay for nothing. I’m really looking forward to using Breakfast in London, but the current situation is honestly less than ideal.
Bad egg
The idea is nice. The app itself is terrible. The fee of $16/mo for membership is ludicrous. You can’t even browse first. At most I’d pay $6 (the price of a coffee where I live) for a service that *maybe* sets up 1-2 meets per month on average. Don’t bother downloading this.
Disappointed
📍Barcelona I’m disappointed. Clunky app that freezes and is not very intuitive. Judging by some of the design choices, it seems like the developers wanted some sort of gamification built in but instead the app is frustrating to use, lots of flakey people, no way to filter out strong cultural clashes. Happy to have tried 1 month but will not be returning.
The cool idea with very low execution
Having the subscription for 2 weeks in a row I hardly could arrange 2 breakfasts. Unfortunately the system seem not working smooth - as for finding a person to have a breakfast with took sometimes more than 2 days. Though it’s not 7 chances out of 7. Another question that somehow I was matched with Russian people with no common interest. Texted to support but no changes. I won’t proceed with subscription.
