Kayak fishing
This was a Father’s Day present . Wi was not to impressed with the concept . Today I finally decided to try it out . You just throw it in the water tied to the kayak and you got a fish finder . No adjustments . Clear picture on my phone ! I took screenshots to thank my kids and the app lets you save screen to the phone pretty good . Simple does not clutter the boat .

Great app. Would like to have individual counties named or even outlined on the regular map and not just the community download screen. Also wouldn’t mind being able tomalley a couple more depth ranges.
Schwierigkeiten im Teilen von Daten
An sich ist das Striker Cast (in der Ausführung mit GPS) Gut gelungen und leicht zu bedienen. Zumindest, wenn es um die reine Echolot-Funktion geht. Wassertiefe, Fische und Strukturen werden verlässlich erkannt, zudem wird auch die Temperatur angezeigt. Warum also der Abzug von Sternen: - die Kartierungsfunktion ist leider nicht ganz selbsterklärend, die Anleitung dazu aber sehr oberflächlich - startet man die Aufzeichnung, so muss sich das Gerät die ganze Zeit im Wasser befinden. Das bedeutet, vor dem erneuten Auswerfen oder einem Platzwechsel am Ufer muss der Aufnahmemodus gestoppt werden, da sonst Fehler in der Aufzeichnung passieren. Dieser Hinweis steht jedoch leider nicht in der Anleitung. (Bei mir wurden flache Uferbereiche dadurch bis zu 2m tief eingezeichnet. - Fehler in der Aufzeichnung lassen sich nicht korrigieren. Ein „Radiergummi“ oder ähnliches wäre hier hilfreich, um Teile der Karte, bei denen es zu Aufzeichnungsfehlern gekommen ist zu löschen. - Das Teilen der Aufzeichnungsdaten. Dies ist nur nach dem Motto „ganz oder gar nicht“ möglich. Eine Auswahl von Abschnitten, die man veröffentlichen möchte wäre ebenso hilfreich, wie die Möglichkeiten Gruppen zu bilden, mit denen die Inhalte geteilt werden, wenn man Beispielsweise gewisse Abschnitte nur mit den Mitgliedern seines Angelvereins teilen möchte. - der Wiederruf von geteilten Daten ist ebenfalls nicht möglich. Was einmal veröffentlicht wurde bleibt auch veröffentlicht, auch wenn dies aus Versehen veröffentlicht wurde. - Beim Download von Community Daten kommt es vermehrt zu Serverproblemen, so dass ein Download nicht möglich ist.

I really want this to be my wilderness canoe fishing solution. It’s close, but not quite there. Some things I miss from my Striker 4 CV: -travel speed. This is a gps dependent calculation. Why not add that layer to this device output? -split map and sonar. This seems like a simple app update. -easy marker placement from any screen.

Is there a way to figure out the sizes of the fish I be seeing showing? Was fishing for yellow perch and is there a way to figure out a perch from a catfish to a bass and snakeheads?

Handy, but missing basic features in the app
Had this a couple years now and mostly use it for ice fishing. The device works really well, but the app leaves me wanting. I use Navionics Boating (also a Garmin app) and seriously wish that there was some integration. Short of that, the Striker Cast app desperately needs to allow downloading a base map or satellite imagery for offline use. The Striker Cast is perfect for packing into remote backcountry lakes, but even though the mapping capabilities are fantastic, there is no view of shorelines or any other reference points until I get back to cell service or wifi. Even after that it’s gone the next time I’m on the water which is extremely frustrating.

Striker cast
It has been awesome the last 2 years to see the depth, water temps and seeing the fish. However, it has started to not be as accurate lately. We have to restart it allot to get it to work. I wonder if we need an update for it or something.

クイックドローの機能に期待して購入しました。 近所の溜池でキャスティングによる使い方を研究中です。 水抜き時に地形を確認済みなので、答え合わせの感覚で等深線図を作図しています。 まだ使いこなせていない現状なので、確証は持てませんが、陸からのキャストによって実釣にたえる図を作図するのは結構難しいと感じました。 恐らくアプリのプログラムのクセによるものだと思うのですが、水際線（＝水深0m）を完璧に認識させることがまず難しいです。 GPSにキッチリ位置を認識させながら水際ギリギリまで丁寧に測深させても、水際の底質が変化すると（コンクリート護岸→自然護岸）、変化的から先の陸上側にあたかもまだ水域があるような作図をします。 測点密度が足らない可能性を疑い細かくキャストを繰り返してもダメでした。 あと小規模な地形変化を表現するのも苦手なようです。 練習池には3m×6m四方ほどの小規模な岬があります。 実釣で実績のあるポイントなのですが、このエリアの水際線や水中の地形変化もほぼ無いものとして作図されてしまいました。 どれだけ丁寧に測深しても、周囲の単調な地形の影響を受けて平均化された表現になってしまいます。 この程度の規模の地形変化だと、測定データは誤差として処理されてしまうのかもしれません。 魚釣りでは「変化」を狙うのが基本だと思うのですが、そこを表現するのが苦手というのは結構ツライです。 フローターやボート、supなどで運用した場合、また印象が変わるかもしれませんが、キャスティングでの運用における作図機能については、現状おまけ程度の認識で良いかもしれません。 恐らく測深したデータをどう処理するか？というところに課題がある感じなので、アプリのアップデートでの改善に期待したいと思います。

Waste of money
I have had the deeper Casting and the Garmin striker. Both lasted less than 6-12 uses. Do not waste your money! On either of there’s. Did work great the couple of times it worked though.

Great form factor
I like the compact size and functionality but having it occasionally demand a login when I’m fishing in an area with poor or no cell service is maddening.
Great product when it works
Had this product for about a year and it is really awesome, when it works. Unfortunately I’ve had connectivity issues with it more often than not. My cell phone will have three bars and still no connection. Other than that, it’s simple to use and the battery lasts a long time.

Great unit, needs audio fish alarm
Very pleased with it. First day using my Striker Cast GPS. Nice depth readouts and sonar seems very good, although like others have said I do wish there was a fish alarm. (Audio.) I would think this would be fairly simple to add (Garmin) please and thank you. Other than that, so far I am happy. 4 stars until fish beep is added :-D

Habe vor ca 2 Wochen den striker Cast gps gekauft. Installation und einrichten einfach. Zuverlässigkeit Katastrophe. Angegeben wird er mit einer Reichweite von bis zu 60 m via Bluetooth. Das kann ich definitiv nicht bestätigen. Er brach bereits schon bei 10 m ab und suchte wieder das Signal. Das ging in 2 Stunden ungefähr 20 mal so. Schade ist zudem das es keine ausführliche Erklärung zu den Symbolen gibt.
Great but Need an update
After playing around with it, it’s nice when it works, in my kayak to work properly i need to paddle very slow, after all, it’s really good but the app need an update, it’s been a year right now with no update i like to see a fish alarm in the update, because you cannot keep your eyes on the screen all the time, it would be better If you can hear the fish alarm. Comparing to Deeper sonar they have an update almost every three months, i thing Garmin are to lazy to improve there App, nice hardware but the App need an update to work better. And why there is no information anywhere about the battery life cycle, because I need to know what I’m gonna do if the battery dead completely the lifecycle it’s finish I mean, do I need to throw it away if this is your answer that’s not good you need to have an option to change the battery when it’s completely dead like deeper sonar do, if you want to be competitive.

Great for beginners
I have used this for about 3 years. For what this is intended for, it is great at a great price. The gps is more accurate with better cell reception. Clarity on the flasher setting makes it a little more difficult to see targets. I think this has to do with it being older sonar. Aside from that the traditional view works all year, I have been able to use it effectively for ice fishing. You get what you pay for!

Pros great clarity of the fish and depth location. Great if jigging. The finder track my lure as a fish up and down. Cons. If you troll too fast in canoe it disconnects. Wish the app had option to activate satellite mapping when reviewing gps data with pre download for offline viewing.

川で
地形変化、沈み物、地質がピンポイントでわかるからポイント開拓には最適な気がする。 釣りすればわかるけど、ライン入射角と距離で大体でやってたのが明確にピンでわかるから勉強になる。 ただ、15m程でBluetoothが不安定になったのがもったいない。 キャストとは言うけど、フローターやカヤックで使うのが正解だと痛感した。 当たり前の話だけど魚探使ったから釣れるって思ってる人は使わない方が良い。 今まで以上に釣りの精度上げたい人が使う物だと思う。
