What people like
- Design is clean and easy to use
- Trainers and classes are excellent quality
- Booking classes is quick and simple
What they complain about
- Logs you out constantly and crashes
- Missing basic search and filter features
- Support is slow and unhelpful
- Fewer workouts available than on the website
Auto Top-up malfunction
Every time I try to access the Auto Top-up feature to cancel or disable it, the app crashes and shuts down.
Full of bugs
Showing cancelled classes in my streak. I think this just gave me an extra class but because it’s not showing cancelled classes there’s no way to cross check. Pleased to finally see filters by class type but such a pity they don’t work at all. Would be nice to dismiss notifications on main page but can’t. Really surprised not to see an update in App Store. Was also confused as to why it didn’t appear under a search for BLOK.
Good app but needs more features
App is simple and does the job but would really like features which allow you to favourite classes and also search by class and by teacher.
Filter problem
Once you click on the filter will not be able to exit it or confirm button just disappear. This is a new issue also the users should be able to choose which of the location they frequent the most instead of defaulting Clapton
App needs simple improvements to be effective
I signed up to the digital version of Blok. The quality of the videos themselves are really great but unfortunately the app lacks basic functionality that I’ve now cancelled my membership as the app experience is so poor. For example there is no way to search for videos or add videos to your own playlist - this means everytime I want to do a workout I have to scroll through all of the videos to find what I want. The playback of the videos isn’t great either - there’s no way to watch full screen videos on my laptop. A few years ago there used to be a Blok.tv website - this was MUCH better! Please improve the app and make it more user friendly to use on other devices. It’s a shame as I do think the videos are great but the user experience is too poor to keep paying and using the digital subscription.
Seamless
Great to keep me on track whether at home or travelling. Love the reminders to keep focus on fitness
Impossible to cancel
App works well but Blok makes it very difficult to cancel membership. It’s buried within a help article and forces you to email support. Based on that dreadful experience, I won’t be renewing my membership anytime soon.
Bad booking process
When you want to book a one off class it lets you pay for the class and looks like you have booked it with a swipe but doesn’t book you in- just gives you a pass for a class. So you think you booked - you get a confirmation that it came of your bank account - turn up at the studio only to be told that you are not booked!
Location changes every time
The app is mostly okay but every time I go to book a class it switches back to showing Shoreditch even though I only have Clapton credits
Best App and Creative Content
The app and the creative content on both the app and website is spot on.👌 Easy to use and the design is cool and progressive.
Broken App
Today the app doesn’t even open. Technical issues constantly. Many less classes since you changed things. Blok come on, sort it out
A cosmetic upgrade but the fundamentals need work
I love Blok as a gym but this app is so frustrating and I had high hopes for the upgrade. Unfortunately many things are even worse for example There seems to be no way to review a class anymore. This is not very good. Because it means the experience if I book this class through classpass is actually far better Which is an e-commerce crime. When you go to share feedback or help you need to input your password a Second time this suggests the app wasn’t really tested properly before release of the developers didn’t care how poorly it worked. It then opens a webpage which obscures the app then cannot be removed from the app viewYou have to shut down and reset the app. The old app used to allow you to filter by instructor and class type so that you could see your favourite class throughout the week. The new app has lost this functionality Which is extremely useful if you have a favourite class or instructor. Finally as a Manchester member it is frustrating that years since the name change Blok still uses a blokLondon webpage address in so many places. This is despite them owning blok.com and BlokMcr.com I’m not sure what the point of owning these webpages are if they are not going to use them. Please stop winding up proud Mancunians by making them log into a “London” website. Finally the app still seems to time out after a day or so. My online banking app is easier to login and stay logged in and that is saying something.
Notification
Need a notification when the trainer changes if you’re booked in a class. Too many times have I got to a class and it’s a different trainer instead of the original booked one. Not all the trainers are the same
Best trainers always
Best trainers and best classes from all the gyms I’ve been in London !
BlokTV website was great. The app is a disaster.
469 on-demand workouts were available on the now defunct BlokTV website. Only 63 have made it to the app. Give us back the 406 ones that have disappeared! Adding insult to injury, some of the ones that have made it onto the new app have been hugely shortened : of the 44 so brilliant barre workouts, only 14 remain and all of them have been reduced from 40-45’ to a max of 20’ and arbitrarily edited making them useless. They are also wrongly titled : « the leg and core workout » is in fact an exclusively « arms » one. It seems that the developers have reduced the initial Bloktv content without fitness and training in mind. The app is fancy looking but the selection of training videos is incredibly poor. What a shame.
App doesn’t work
I just get a white screen with nothing loading onto when I try and open the app - I can’t see which classes I have booked in already, nor do I have the ability to look at the schedule to book any further classes.
Some small changes could make a really big difference
Classes can be filtered by category but it would be really useful to be able to filter by class name (instead or in addition). Calisthenics doesn’t appear under any category so at the moment it’s impossible to quickly view the schedule. It would be good if you could save a default preference for the timetable so it shows only the specific site(s) or on demand videos as required rather than needing to adjust the filter every time you open the app. ‘Add to Calendar’ option still doesn’t work so I have to go into email and add these after booking. For on demand workouts it would be useful to filter by class name and also by duration. It’s not very easy to navigate the catalogue and there isn’t an ability to save favourites or create your own programme with multiple videos (unless I am missing something) so it takes way too long to find the classes you want to do each time. I don’t bother with BLOK TV any more since it’s been app only even though I know the quality of videos and instructors is great and there are some specific things I’d like to work on at home.
Amazing App
Amazing App! Easy to use and navigate. 🙌
Love the gym, hate the app
This is the clunkiest app for the slickest gym I've ever encountered. Currently won't load on OS 16 for the upteenth time, so no classes can be booked. Won't recognize it's own class packs which means I have to ring up reception ever time I want to book a class. Waste of time.
Blok is great App is glitchy and service /response times super slow
App keeps logging me out and doesn’t recognise pw and/ or email Very frustrating. Then the service for responding is super slow.. 48hrs to get an answer to a query! Crazy
MrRoDo
The new app is much better than the previous version. My favourite fitness studio ever!
Painful app.
Painful to use app which signs you out constantly, crashes and closes when trying to move forward to another day to book class and often books you into wrong classes. Today, it has signed me out and will not accept my password. When you click “forgot password” it takes you to a page which doesn’t load.
Missing the basics
It’s an exercise app but you can’t filter by class type, time or level. If I know I want to go to yoga but don’t know when don’t make me scroll through every class possible to find it. If I’m at work until the evening, let me filter by time slot. This is basic stuff. Addition of class history and filter by teacher is the one good thing. Suggest this developer speak to more people about how they book exercise classes or look at competitors as they are missing a lot right now.
SO FRESH AND SO CLEAN
What a change . So glad this app has been updated and redone . It’s gone from being clunky to super slick and user friendly. Looking forward to seeing the additions that are incoming .
Follow up feedback - still terrible
I reinstalled but now it tells me that I haven’t got a “personal account” and won’t recognise my email address. It also tells me that I haven’t reset my password yet which I’ve done several times previously. Please fix 😭🙏🏼
No easy way to see my upcoming classes
Useful app & I’m glad it exists. It really needs a screen where you can quickly see which classes you’ve signed up for. There seems to be no way of accessing your upcoming classes unless you go ahead and register for another class.
BLOK app
This app is perfect - it’s intuitive and user friendly, makes it so easy to book classes and see what you have coming up. I now book all my classes at the start of the week in about 1 minute! Looks cool as well.
Impossible to log in
A fancy design that doesn't have the basics right - it logs you off every week and the rest password link is not working. Don't care about fancy looks guys - get your basics right.
Good
App has gotten better and easier to use
Slightly better, still quite bad
An improvement from previous app, the UI is slightly better, somewhat still has a web feeling (it shouldn’t). The app keeps logging you out after a few days which is quite infuriating, is not a banking app, I want to be logged in always so I can book my classes, it makes no sense! Also now I can’t even log back in, no error message, nothing, just spinner showing and dismissing. I honestly don’t know how this is passing any sort of QA
Such an improvement!
This app is simple and beautiful. One thousand times better than the old BLOK app. Thank you :)
Poor
Can’t see anything as the keyboard obscures the screen and there isn’t an option to get rid of it, useless
