Logging in issues
Every time I try to log into this app I get “OOPS try again” error. I can’t use the data. It’s lagging and/or say I’m connected but I cannot access the internet nor my account. I’m very disappointed paid for hotspot and services I cannot gain access to.
The Solis Lite Just Works
This little Hotspot has been a work horse for me. One of the best purchases I’ve made to keep me connected wherever I go.
A good product ruined after rebranding
I’ve used this service for over a decade. This use to be a really good product that provided really good service, but it’s really dropped off over the past few years. Constant connections problems, low data caps before throttling, and it’s expensive too. It’s use to be premium service at a premium price; it’s still a premium price but now the service is 3rd rate. I use to recommend this service, but I no longer can and will start shopping around for an alternative for myself. They’ve also pushed a lot of things through their app now too, like activating your plan. However, you need the internet to log in to the app to activate your plan. If you don’t have internet or cellular access, you can’t login and activate your plan to have access. This also means that if their device isn’t connecting to the internet correctly, you can’t tell it to search for a new signal because you are locked out of the app without being able to login. You can’t even reliably determine the battery level if it won’t connect. All of these are new changes from the device and service I first started using more than 10 years ago.
Good but not consistent
Unit and product is highly recommended by a friend. In Tokyo, Japan I have to say it was pretty okay including customer service support. However, had a bad experience in my last 3 travels in the USA particularly in San Jose California, St. Gallen, Switzerland, & Hokkaido, Japan. Signal was too weak in these areas that I ended up using the hotspot on my daughter’s digital sim. Not sure if my unit id defective but wasn’t able to maximize its use to be honest.

Not good service. Customer support is terrible. My data gets used up even when I’m not using the internet. It takes forever to find a network, and when it finally connects, the service is painfully slow.

THERE ARE BETTER OPTIONS!!
Although I’ve had multiple SOLIS/SIMO devices and used them for overseas trips with their unlimited DAY PASSES, I am outraged at the false and misleading subscription campaign. I selected a $69/mo unlimited global plan and next thing they want to charge $99/mo after 1st month as the discount was just for first month???!!!!! Sneaky and malicious and they lost me as customer. Loyalty and retention means NOTHING to this company. I now have a $49/mo. unlimited plan with another carrier with similar device. DO YOUR RESEARCH AND DON’T FALL FOR THESE SCHEMES!!
Good, but…
It’s constantly logging me out as well as disconnecting for no reason. It was amazing a few years ago, but it seems buggy now. Also seems like it doesn’t pick up as many networks anymore…

I truly love this hotspot! The convenience of it when I travel goes without saying. Also great customer support.
Be careful for their auto renewal
I ordered only one time service, but they are continuously charging me every month. Their APP setting is auto renewal as default, which they never tell you. Not many people are checking well credit card statement. They must be making money with this tactics. Be careful for their auto renewal!
Bug
Altough my iphone is connected to the Solis-X, it does not show in the app. Eg cannot scan networks, acces camera, or media
Better before
Did not work on my Channel Islands trip. In the UK, had a couple of bad times getting past the highly illogical logging out of the account catch 22. Never used to be like this. How can I activate my data plan if I’m constantly being logged out? That’s right, you can’t. Had to hunt for public wifi to login to be able to activate. Much easier to get an eSIM. Getting to be cheaper too.
Needs som polishing
I have only been using the app for a few hours and while it works it’s lacking some features and that would make it much more user friendly. Adding “sign in with Apple” would significantly improve the sign up process. As it stands the “sign up / in with email” doesn’t play nice with Apple passwords. Apple passwords will not automatically suggest a password, no fill in credentials after sign up. This requires awkward cutting and pasting of credentials. Adding “sign in with Apple”, working correctly with Apple Passwords app, or adding Face ID / Touch ID would be a big improvement. Also accepting Apple Pay for payment would be convenient and provide additional security. It’s 2026 and no one wants their credit card information in yet another database. Adding these few features would make the whole experience more easy and premium feeling.
Just love the app and device
This app is top notch, I take mine and my wife takes hers. We have internet where ever we go. When people ask I show them how easy it is to work.
Scam
It’s a scam no idea how they have so many good reviews. Never works in place my phone gets phone service. You need to get starlink.
mobile 5G hotspot
it’s a wonderful mobile hotspot device and ends up being just as expensive as a “carrier” specific mobile hotspot but the greatest perk of this device is that it is able to utilize other carrier cell towers if the one it is receiving signal from is too weak. the intructions could be better and how the data works otherwise no major issues i’ve had with the product ! 9/10 (lack of additional info
No support for 5G
Doesn’t really support 5G even though update notes say it and lists it in the app as a device and the support says it is still being worked on.

Love Solis! I work remote and when I go out or travel with work and use this WiFi works as if I am working at home and also when traveling. Have used it in Europe and in Mexico and worked perfectly. Never fails. Highly recommend.
A scam company
The service is spotty and constantly drops. I attempted to get a refund on my unlimited policy that I haven’t even used any data on yet due to the service dropping. I was refused a refund and told all sales are final. Avoid this company at all costs

Day Pass Throttled
Beware Day Pass has a throttling limit of 1.5G (which is not specified or advertised anywhere by Solis). Once throttled service becomes unusable.
Can’t login through app with regular username and password
I can’t login to my account on the app yet I can set up a new account under google sign in. I don’t want to create a new account I want to access the current one through the app. I can log in on the website on Safari yet not the app?! Fix this please!
Excellent, user-friendly app
My mom and dad spend a few months in a rural part of Italy each year. They access the internet via a Solis Pro and I manage the account through the app. It makes it very easy to ensure that my parents are on an appropriate data plan and I can easily add or upgrade plans. I also like that I can see how many days or GB remain. I can tell how many devices are connected to the hotspot, and the current cellular signal strength and connection type. The number of connections lets me determine if my parents are home or not, which is pretty cool. Excellent app, device, and choice of plan options. Highly recommended.
Impossible
I’ve tried so many times to log in and it keeps saying incorrect password after several changes. I tried support. They said delete the app to update. I did and I still can’t log in!!!
Life Changing!
Having a Solis changed my travel life, and this app it what helps manage that device. I love that it allows you to buy passes, monitor connection time, and monitor connected devices. Sometimes the app has trouble connecting to my device, but overall really good!
Beware of Difficulty in Unscubscribing
Skyroam works well in the countries where it’s supposed to work BUT here’s where they get you. If you subscribe for, say, only a month of service, they will automatically make that subscription subject to auto-renewal. This is not new practice of course among business. Just very sneaky. Where Skyroam goes the extra step is that they will include a link to unsubscribe and then when you click on it, think that’s it... NO. It will redirect you to a login page where you will actually have to log in (again) and then have to send them a message or email asking them to unsubscribe you from their service. The addition of multiple extra steps are intended to make it that much more difficult and confusing for you to unsubscribe. And of course they have a convenient “no refund” policy. Because why would they return your money when they can keep it for themselves? Be warned.
Login issues
App hasn’t been logging into my account for weeks even with new p/w. Service is usually decent for a hot spot. It’s no high speed but it works. They also recently rolled back the old update where you had to login to the WiFi every 30 seconds, every time you went idle, so now thankfully you can stay connected all day. THANK YOU FOR NIXING THAT!

They’re charging more for less internet. Need to pay $150 to do ones days work. Not for digital nomad unfortunately
Great to have Skyroam on the road!
As a traveler, I really appreciate the convenience of having on the go wifi. The Skyroam app is wonderful when it works. However, sometimes it gives me an error message and takes a couple of tries to turn on. Overall, it’s still a great gadget to have and I will continue to use it.
App just doesn’t work
Great concept, great idea but the app is a disappointment. The app has never worked the first time I open it, I have to close and restart several times. I try to buy a day pass and it fails, I have to log in through Safari to purchase the day pass. I had to “clock on” the “active day pass” option seven times for it to be successful. The support team is 10/10 responding with a detailed answer to several technical enquires but the app is great in appearance and idea only. Hopefully this can be improved then the whole experience from start to finish would be 5/5.
Really good when it works
I really enjoy the convenience of being able to connect to Skyroam abroad with my work laptop of phone. It’s amazing when you an stop in a park, open your laptop, and work. My one big complaint is that the system for activating Daypasses is buggy. I’m often running out the door and need to activate my day pass right away. It won’t activate (doesn’t give an error either), and I end up having to delete the app, restart the device and then cross my fingers that it will then work. Not a seemless process at all. Also, you need wifi to be able to log into your Solis account and activate the daypass.. all in all it has left me wondering whether it’s better to just get a local SIM card instead of fighting with the device every morning to work.
Best backup plan for connectivity
I carry my SIMO everywhere I go. It has me online constantly on all my devices. I get coverage with my regular cell phone plan but sometimes it slows down or fails in the middle of important task like a zoom call with a client. I use this app to manage my subscription and devices. I feel secured and connected with my personal hub.

Die App funktioniert gut, die Stabilität ist auch absolut in Ordnung. Leider ist sie nur auf Englisch was definitiv ein dicker Minuspunkt ist. Zum Glück können wir englisch sonst wäre es etwas schwierig.

This little device is a lifesaver!
When I travel to a certain country, the Gmail is not allowed. No hotel’s ISP can make connection with Google app. SIMO allows me to connect my Gmail.
Horrible expensive service
Don’t buy it!!! I have it for a few years now and every time I try to use it WiFi doesn’t even work, I spend half of my time connecting. Customer service is hit or miss. Today I spoke to Pam and she didn’t even try to help. They also signed me up for some monthly hot spot that I wasn’t aware of and was being charged $8 for something I wasn’t using. It’s easier and cheaper to buy a local sim or ESIM, this service is too pricey and 80% of the time doesn’t work!
Can’t connect with my facebook

Still trying to get the app to work
I’ve only just bought the Solis device and I was trying to get it going using the app which I downloaded to my iPhone. It never seems to connect but I only waited a few minutes so maybe I need to wait longer. I’m not sure why I have to wait at all. I decided to use the website instead via safari. I got through eventually after contacting the help support people via email. I got an answer within a couple of hours and they seemed to have applied more credit to my account so I was able to connect to the web this time to view my account and buy more credit. But the app still isn’t connecting at all. I’m still waiting to go on holidays to use the device. So I don’t know if it works yet. But it will be good if I can get it going. I find the instructions a little too brief and would prefer more details on the website or in the quick start guide.
