So convenient Top Notch!
So convenient better than making an appointment the old fashion way push button for this and that and with this …the health provider is sitting there waiting on you and not the other way around… my time is precious and this is service values my time, life and cuts down on my stress and having to travel some where and wait around other people that may be contagious, etc. Thank you so very much. I will be back if I need the service again and tell others about it too..
Crashes
App crashes every time you load it to log in. Apparently it’s been happening for a month and no one cares to fix it.
Notes
I love how easy it is to get appts with this app but I feel it has a very serious design flaw. The notes and referrals entered through this platform do not always get saved to the medical chart which I feel makes it difficult to maintain communication continuity between providers. The majority of patients don’t realize how much they should be keeping track of what goes on with their medical care and they heavily rely on providers and their documentation to keep up with that. In addition to that statement, I feel that providers are held to very high standards of documentation and spend countless hours on it.. therefore, having this type of l communication breakdown very seriously undermines their hard work and valuable time.
Two issues
The login. I asked the app to kindly remember me, which it didn’t. The login does not let you access keychain passwords, so, it’s very hard to use a step by suggested password. I have to manually go into keychain and copy and paste the password. This is a huge pain point. Second. The intro video. The audio really needs to be directed to my headphones. It will only play through the phone speakers, which makes checking in for my appointment awkward while sitting in my office - before I take the actual call in a more private place.

Running 26.1 and it crashes when I tap the email or password field to log in.
Confusing questions
My experience speaking to the nurse while her demand was excellent and informative! However the questions leading up to the video appointment were very confusing in regards to the nature of our request, which was for setting up a Covid test for travel. It might be best to have some sort of explanation that indicates that the nurse will be setting up your appointment for that test instead of seeing you for some kind of problem.

I found it awkward to use. There was some trouble about how many questions I had to answer. How does this app work with just General questions I have been going through the web portal. I was using it on my phone. The nurse had to hang up before the doctor could use the app. I found the user experience to be very troubling.

Penn State is on their 3rd app in 5 years. Rumor has it Epic is next. Good, because this one will not even open for me. I can’t imagine what an elderly patient with no tech skills must go through…
Dropped appointment
Uncertain if this was a technical issue or not, but I had an employee screening setup that dropped as soon as I was about to connect to the provider. Frustrating to wait for 2 hours, only to have the rug pulled out from underneath you like that. It worked the second time.
Travel care
I am on vacation, experienced an acute need and was able to get what I needed in hours, without the hassle and expense of using an urgent care. SO. APPRECIATED!
Avoid Penn State
Penn State puts out a lot of baloney about how much it cares. Don’t believe a word. I’ve known some underfunded, dishonest “health care” companies but none as bad as Penn State. Its “suicide hotlines” aren’t even manned by people, but by messages suggesting that suicidal patients “call back during business hours.” I’ve had years of experience with multiple Penn State medical offices and it’s a disgraceful company.
Penn State On Demand Urgent Care
I tried to call my physician’s office and was on hold for quite some time. I entered my information with Urgent Care and was forwarded to a physician in no time at all. She was very friendly and helpful.
Very poor app...
After downloading and getting an account, I saw no upcoming appointments, no way to test the app. It just sits there. I tried to send a message, but no luck there either - it said I had no contacts. What a waste. Not sure what this does that a phone call couldn't already do.
