What people like
- No monthly subscription fees required to use it.
- It is incredibly simple and easy to learn.
- Helpful tools for freelancers to track billable hours.
- Developer fixes bugs quickly when you report them.
What they complain about
- You must pay separately for each device.
- Syncing between devices often causes duplicate entries.
- Location tracking fails or stops working randomly.
- Exported Excel files sometimes lack actual data.
Amazing!
This app is such a time (and money) saver for freelancers and hourly employees responsible for reporting their own time. Especially the native export to Subtotal invoicing feature really makes this a remarkable program. And it's one-time-purchase, which means no subscriptions. I also like that it calculates how much you make per shift for lump-sum positions. I used that feature to know if I actually make minimum wage as an extracurricular coach at a public school, and I can now confidently confirm that I make slightly above minimum, so yay! I own a copy of the pro version of this and Subtotal on my phone, macbook, and work phone. Even buying it 3 times, it's still worth it.

Very helpful app!
As a consultant, this app is very helpful to track billable hours. I trust that the developer will keep streamlining it, and would prefer that the “timer” button be hidden so it cannot be activated by mistake.
Nervige Benachrichtigungen
Does what it says
It’s been nice as a physician to actually measure my time on site. Very useful. Only problem is sometimes Apple will automatically shut off the location access of the app so you should make certain to log in from time-to-time.
You have to buy separate app for mac os
Latest edit (16 april 2024) I have now read full your review (email doesnt provide such). You are wrong. And your conclusions are wrong! First moment: I provided you cheaper apps. You have to check again. ATracker costs $4.99 for full version for Mac OS and iOS, TimeDeposit cost me $3.99 (now it is $14.99) - it is also cheaper than what you offer! $9.99 for iOS, $9.99 for Mac OS. So total $19.98. Compare three numbers, basic problem Second moment: i didn’t vote for the subscription or didn’t ask you for cheaper price. Where have you found that? I noted that there are apps that are for both iOS and Mac OS and that are cheaper that your solution! And they have their functionality working on MacOS and iOS! That’s all! Are you planning any offers/discounts for MacOS app, so people who bought iOS version could also try/buy MacOS version? Editeditedit: ok Editedit: thank you again for the reply! Being client-oriented is the key mantra nevertheless.. The list of apps is a bit lower: ATrackerPro, TimeDeposit as examples. Read section after “edit” regarding the support of iOS app on M chip Mac OS. Thank you for your effort to make the app as good as possible! It is very important to put your soul into the app and make it as good as for your own use👍 There is no need to make companion app for mac os paid. Check other developers, they make cross platform app with one-time purchase >>>>READ HERE, dev: Edit. Hi! Thank you for the reply. Yes, there are indeed such apps. For example aTracker Pro (you are able to download iPad version for Mac OS and it works fine), TimeDeposit - cross platform. You are able to switch timers from menu bar. Approximately the same functionality as your app in term of timetracking. I understand the moment with bills, thank you for the possibility to download the app and try it for free, but most people use MacOS and since we are unable to use full app from iOS on Mac (somehow we are not able to download iPad version on Mac), this app seems useless
Great app, why paying for the different platform, though?
It feels a bit weird to have to pay for each platform we need, but I’d take this over a subscription. App otherwise is super useful.
Arbeitsplatzerkennung
Works great, but Pomodoro lacking
Wish it had the ability to pause the Pomodoro timer rather than just stop the session entirely. I don’t want to restart the whole session just because somebody popped into the office for 2 minutes. Would also accept skipping to and pausing at the next break and picking up from there on resume as it doesn’t make much sense to pause and restart work block.
Love it!
I love how it keeps track of my work hours and starts time based on location if you want.
Not working
The past two months when I export the file the date is no longer displayed and it’s just random numbers. This isn’t helpful when I’m submitting it to be paid.
Break times
App is great. I’d love to see the ability to clock in/out manually for breaks that I take. If I forget to clock a break there doesn’t seem to be a way to go back and add one once I realize I didn’t hit the break button.

Workplace detection
It stopped working. I checked permissions and location. I am great fan this app. Used it first on a windows phone. But with that not working it makes not useful for me. As of Jan 2025 workplace detection is still erratic. Is there an update?
Great tracker
I use this for tracking activities over time, helps me study enough and know when I’m slacking. Great app!
6 days trial
Only gives 6 day trial then cuts you off.
Review
Two weeks in and happy with app.
Not well sync with PC and IOS
Does not sync well with windows there is always a days delay
Simply the best!
I have been using WorkingHours for a few years. Does everything I need it to. Keep up the great work.

Exel Tabellen
Awesome!
A piece of cake to use and super helpful. Thanks!
Simple and straightforward, with one flaw
It’s truly a really good app. I wanted something simple that wouldn’t be subscription based. It does all you need it to do and doesn’t get in your way. There’s very little friction when starting or stopping a timer, which is very important to me. The one big thing I don’t like about it is that I have to purchase the pro version on every device separately, and the cost varies as well. In order to have this sync between my device I had to buy a pro version on my iPhone, then another pro version on the Mac, and now my trial is up on my windows machine so it seems i’ll have to purchase it one more time. This is honestly very stupid. I’m buying the same app three times just to have it sync, which is such a core feature. One more thing that would be nice - the ability to search in analytics page. The filter is ok, but doesn’t show me the total amount for the filtered entries. I do love that it’s not subscription based tho. Good job!
Buona app
Made everything better for freelance work
This app is so easy to use and gets me exactly what I need. I use it for all of my freelance gigs. Tried so many apps and strategies before finding this. So happy I found it!
Pretty decent
When I export to excel, I wish I could see, sort/filter with all my days across the top and all my addresses in a column on the left. That would allow me to see the whole pay period with each address, the number of hrs and tag for each address for each day. Overall good job!
Help can be hard to get
This app does a lot of thing right, yet has something of the feel of a work in progress. It appears to be the best in its category and generally quite reliable, but if problems do arise (and what app is ever completely without problems) help can be hard to find. The Help button in settings leads only to a set of FAQs and you know how frustrating it can be to search through those for something that looks the same as your problem. The developer claims he responds to community forum postings but he is in Germany so there is an overnight wait at best for US-based users. When an app is crucial, you need personalized help and you need it now. If not for that limitation this is a good app and I could give it four stars.
Great app - pays for itself
I use the app on all platforms and love it. Dedicated and purpose built for keeping time. Reliable and easy to use. Tried many others and have stayed with this one.
Excellent app! Just needs a Watch companion app
As per title, love the app, serves my needs almost perfect, a Watch companion app would push it to 5 stars for sure!
Export to excel comes up empty
When exporting to excel only headers show with no data
Simple and perfect
Does exactly what I want and nothing that I don’t want.
Swipe
Overall I really like the app. One aspect I would like to see though, would be the ability to swipe between for instance weeks in the analytics tab. Eg swipe right to go back a week.
An invaluable app for freelancers and contractors
A flexible yet straightforward app that syncs with my mac. It is critical for my keeping track of my time as a contractor who works for different organizations. It even helps keep track of hours billed and payed for. Can also be used to keep track of how you spend your time in any way, not just work.
Great concept
Update - the Developer has been brilliant and has taken my problem onboard and released a fix within a short time. It’s now working exactly as I wanted. Superb! Thank you! I am looking for a time tracking app and have tested this. It’s great apart from one issue. You cannot change the tags. If I change them and save the task it doesn’t then recognise the task. The only way I found to do it was to delete the task and recreate it. This is no good for me.
