Does Exactly What It Needs To Do
It’s less than $10 and isn’t a subscription service. It teaches you how to write and has the corresponding sound play when you practice. It’s absolutely perfect for the purpose that it serves. I tried another app that I normally use for other languages and it was obvious that this one is infinitely better. Sometimes the best apps have the bare minimum for UI design. Don’t judge a book by its cover. If you want to learn how to sound out Thai sentences then this is the only app you need.

After the first letter, AN ADD JUMPED OUT and I couldn’t skip it. So low and disgusting! I deleted app immediately!!
Updates please
Many reviewers have pointed out a few significant improvements that seem that they would be fairly easy to implement- maybe try using AI to help you code? I noticed as of 4/2026 the developer’s website is no longer up, so not much hope of updates. There are some errors like cho chan which should be the J sound, include a pic of the associated word like chicken, indicate the class.
It’s ok.
So far, I like the writing feature for practicing writing, but many of the Thai to English translations for letters are not correct. I am just a beginner and I can already tell the app is currently not reliable if you want to know the pronunciation of the letter.

Hyphenated word selection is very poor
Hyphenated words selection is poor so you end up waisting your time. Example the Thai consonant for chicken is written Ko Kai, most others will use gaw gai. Thai consonant for plate is written Cho Chan when most others use jaw jaan. Thai consonant for horse White It only has Mo Ma when others use a much better maw maa. Purchased this to learn incorrectly…

Sounds and Character names please
I like this app however it’d be nice. If instead of just the character names you had the sounds for each character as well.
Improve.
The app helps you memorize how to trace the thai letters, But it doesn't teach you them. I used your Write it! Korean, And it helped me learn Hangul, But this app would help a lot more if it told you the actual letter instead of kho kai or the other prons.

Another crappy ‘learn to read thai’ app that never goes over reading. It’s just to learn the names of the characters. and drawing characters on a touch screen doesn’t teach you how to write. When will these app developers figure that out?

Great for simple character practice
Love how simple and direct this app is, and the functionally of the free version is also great.
Beware - Contains Serious Language Errors
They have the names of several Thai vowels completely wrong - so you learn names that are simply incorrect. I only discovered this after spending hours learning them. I advised the developers and they acknowledged the error and said it would be fixed. That’s was six months ago and it’s still not been addressed unfortunately.
Price
The price is not that high but I just don’t want to pay five dollars jest to review my learn things. But overall it is a pretty good app.
Unpredictable
It is mainly good but sometimes a scrawl counts as correct, sometimes following the outline slowly and carefully is wrong. I don't think I could ever be able to get ภ to its satisfaction. (It's not a very difficult letter)
Excellent
This app is doing a lot to help me learn the Thai abugida/alphabet. I use it and Quizlet together to learn the characters and what their names mean (i.e., ก: gai = chicken; ข: kai = egg; ฆ: rakhang = bell, etc.) and I feel like I'm finally starting to get a foothold on the Thai writing system. I can study at my own pace, and choose to push myself a little in order to really drill it in, and that's really working for me. Bravo and thank you very much to the developer(s)!
App doesn’t work
Just downloaded this app and exited to use it. As soon as I try and open the app it crashes! Bug needs to be fixed as the app won’t start up at all

Would be nice to have option to skip learning obsolete letters
Excellent app but needs little improvement
Overall I like this app very much! I’m much more concentrated when I have to trace the letters so I memorize the consonants more easily. There’s only one problem. For vowels, you provide the names of the vowels other than their actual pronunciation. As a beginner, and I believe most of the users are, I care more about how to pronounce the vowels themselves but not their names. We don’t need to know their names to practice Thai, but we do need to know the pronunciation.
Tactile learning
The audio combined with the ability to actually quiz yourself odd actually way more fun for me to learn especially the basics sounds and become familiar with them. The Thai letters somehow look like a picture of how they sound. It’s not too picky about thumb drawing being exactly correct but if it have the right directional movement they’ll give it to you🙃 if you’re totally off then it’ll eventually give you a hint to draw the answer and will count it against you. A little repetition goes a long way!
Beware
I purchased the app awhile ago, meaning I payed for it to not have ads etc. Now there is an update which has reinstalled ads. That is fraud and extortion.

Basically a good app I can think of some improvements that would be helpful. It is very difficult to use on the small phone with finger. It would also be nice if the tracing of the letter and recognition of the letter exercises were separated.

More practice with the letter visible please!
I’m trying two different apps for learning Thai letters and both give one opportunity to trace over the letter while it’s visible before chucking us onto doing it from memory. I’d do better if I could stay with the tracing stage longer and also had space for side-by-side copying. Would love it if one or both of these was added. Good app.
Great app! Latest update has issues
I love this app. It has been an invaluable tool for learning the Thai alphabet. The only issue is this latest update has a very bad bug where the audio prompts will not play when switching to a new character or be so delayed the sound plays over the next character reveal. Please fix this bug to make the app functional again. Thank you!
Excellent with some room for improvement
I love the basic functionality of writing practice, which also (especially with the audio) really helps with learning the huge alphabet. A few suggestions for improvement: — the vowels are incomplete as of July 2023. There seems to be a lot missing when one compares the content here to a standard Thai vowel chart. — as another reviewer said, I think it would be useful to have the vowels taught by the sound: sara ah, sara ee, etc. for most of them. This seems to be how they are taught in many books and videos. But I am not sure how to deal with the characters for which the character names are themselves important. And I appreciate that the app does teach some of that. It’s difficult to get it all in one app, I imagine. — I agree with the reviewer who suggested indicating the class of consonants so the tone implications can be learned at the same time — and maybe include the tone-changing marks and their names? (Somewhat advanced but would make this app even more impressive) — At a much more basic level, it would be very helpful to include in the text the Thai meanings of the consonant names so we can learn like Thai children do: ก ko kai k as in chicken, ศ so sala s as in pavilion, ษ so ruesi s as in hermit, etc. All that said, this is a quite helpful app.
