Have used Hot Doc for many years now. Easy to use and quick confirmation. If I tried to book via a phone call, I could be waiting for up to an hour 😀
Booked using hot doc and it wasn’t booked
I booked an appointment when leaving the practice, then got home and booked using hot doc for my mother the appointment slot after mine so we could go together to the doctor for the flu shots. It was confirmed. We turn up and then there’s no second appointment booked, not at our time or any time, nothing! We were seen straight away then after we got seen, I logged into the hot doc app and showed the secretary the second appointment we had booked! Still nothing!

Needs polishing
1. I booked an appointment a couple of weeks ahead but I still missed it out because I only received one reminder one week ahead. I would expect another one like 1 or 2 days ahead. 2. I booked an appointment for my daughter. There was a question in the app asking if she was existing patient at the clinic. I picked yes since we always go there. But then the receptionist said she wasn't an existing patient of the GP and insisted that the app asked the question. So I wasted my time waiting there for nothing.

2 issues
My Covid booster booking via the app a couple of weeks ago: 1. Booked using the app well beforehand 2. Responded to the following confirm request message 3. Attended on time and checked in at reception then assigned a seat outside doctor 4. waited 40 Minutes as 5 patients came and went, walked to desk and confirmed my attendance 5. Approached doctor at door and she checked to explain there is no record of my appointment on her list. The system failed me. But she fitted me in thankfully. Now - today Just booked appointment with my regular doctor for a double appointment. I selected existing patient but the app at the end message confirmed me as a new patient requesting a 15 minute earlier attendance for paperwork as a newcomer I did select existing patient. I’ve used the app a few times so am familiar with the system Cheers, Colin
Appointments don’t always work
I recently made an appointment.. deemed to work, I then got a in ap notification saying it was canceled bc I didn’t have payment info. BUT I selected pension when I made the ap- bc I’m bulk billed… so I don’t NEED payment info.. and I HAVE payment info in ap in any case! Furthermore .. when I checked the ap- there was two appointments in the ap for the date I made one “modified” “by the clinic” but they were closed (so maybe in ap clinic rules) and another ACTIVE APPOINTMENT… I even got a text message to confirm the appointment- and that link worked. I confirmed my appointment… Then on the day… I didn’t get a Telehealth call. I called the clinic and all they could see was the canceled one. I already waited 6 days for the appointment… now I have to wait another WHOLE WEEK. Can you guys stop changing the name of this ap??? I need this ap to book appointments with my dr… cause THEY have chosen to use this ap. I don’t need to see my dr very often, so I have no need to commit to memory the name of the ap my dr uses… but apparently I do,… I remember this ap as being called Halo… but that doesn’t come up in any search field I’m using… then I tired “health”… nope that didn’t work either. I had to scroll through several pages in. The ap store till I found this ap- I recognised the icon tile, and it’s downloaded.. I dunno… maybe link/imbed some more search terms in the ap.

I like using this app for my medical appointments since I can be incredibly indecisive.

Won’t allow all bookings. No body answers the phone. Pointless app

I do find this a good way to book in with the doctor . It is incorrectly telling me that this is my first appointment, go to reception. but it is not my first appointment!! The nickname comes up 90% of the time as this nickname is taken !! Can’t submit until you add one !! Thank you
Booking an appointment online & by phone
Booking an appointment online is excellent. But if u have to ring for an appointment it is terrible to have to wait around 20 minutes to talk to a receptionist. No other medical practices make u wait so long. I used to work for one of your drs years ago & we always had to answer straight away. Maybe u need an extra person to answer the phone!! GM
Good - but
The app makes it easy to book and until recently easy to check in at surgery. However, the checkin is no longer working - app keeps saying you’re too far away even when right in front of receptionist

Average performance
Appointment bookings are simple and easy. Appointment confirmation marks are often absent against current listings. App check-in, on arrival at the practice is a nightmare. This function is unavailable more often than not. Could do MUCH better as a user interface.

I’m nearly 70 and hate holding on for someone to answer and we know that can be a while when calling a medical centre. I use the app and it lets me select a perfect time for me to be there rather than tell me on the phone “next appointment is” and I’d rather something other than I recommend this for any of my tech savvy friends
