What people like
- Great for having all resources in one place
- Useful calculator helps track PFA progress easily
- Good access to standards and training videos
What they complain about
- App crashes or won’t open on modern phones
- Scoring for rowing is often wrong and outdated
- Sliders are frustrating to use for quick entry
- Missing new plank exercise and updated policies
Wonderful!
This app is perfect exactly what I needed to make my PFA experience easy and understandable!
Doesn’t work
App just crashes on trying to open. Used to be very helpful in getting ready for the PRT, now worthless.
Truly enjoy having it right in my hands
I appreciate having all the resources electronically at my fingertips. If i could improve anything, it would t be the ability to have the option to say if something is waived for a person when calculating their BCA and PRT scores.
Row scoring is WAY off
Be forewarned, the scoring for the row is not even close. This needs fixed BAD.
Row option broken
The scoring for the row cardio option is incorrect and doesn’t match the tables. Someone relying on this may fail the test because the app isn’t pulling correct information.
Much better
The app has thoroughly improved over the past five years. I only suggest keeping the guides and navadmins updated as you update the MyNavyHR PRP website.
Doesn’t work
App won’t even open.
Poor interface
Please change the inputs from sliders to a number pad. All the inputs ask for numbers and the sliders are frustrating and hard to use because your finger covers the numbers as you attempt to move the sliders If you try to hold the plus or minus keys it thinks you want to copy the picture. Pretty good. Inputs are incredibly frustrating.
Okay I guess
Would be much better if it would save your data for next time. Would also be nice to be able to see the ranges for each exercise in the calculator.

App needs maintenance!
….
make it user friendly
we use the app for calorie minimums and would like to know if y’all could update it to be more user friendly for finding bike calorie per person
Nice away from work
Great app for easy access to standards, videos and resources to better yourself but as far as some of the instructions go the 6110.1 is out of date almost a whole year. If those could be updated before new cycle starts that would give this app 5 stars.
Not great for working sailors
App won’t open, tried deleting and reinstalling, opens after reinstall but immediately needs to download more data to work, errors out and force closes again and back to it not opening to begin with. Don’t know how this is supposed to support anyone not on the shore. Would be great if it 1. Didn’t require extra to be downloaded to work and 2. Worked in general. Nice job on the disclaimer before the download portion btw. Too bad this is the officially endorsed app.
Needs update
This was fine for three years ago. Needs to be updated to show planks and rowing.
Get Rid of Sliders
Please ditch the sliders and allow users to type in numbers for fields that require numerical entries.
This app is straight trash
Crashes immediately. Out of date. Incompatible with iOS 17. Disappointing, just like the Navy as a whole.
Good App, just not up to date
Been using this app since it’s early days, but needs to be updated. The latest policy change with the plank is not implemented. This does not all someone to truly gauge where they are. Still a good app. Just needs attention.
Good when it works, but the welcome screen Close “X” doesn’t click
Not sure if it’s just certain iPhone versions, but on iPhone 13 Pro the Close “X” on the bottom right of the welcome walkthrough screen isn’t clickable, so I can’t actually use the app. That wasn’t an issue on the iPhone X, so might just be a bug that needs fixed?
Slider for inputs was better
Please change back to sliders for inputs. Takes so much longer to have the keyboard pop up everytime.
Update please
The app needs an update to match the New PFA. How can sailors check their progress while training for the new PFA?
Ok app still missing one thing
The app is useful. It’s not the best app but it’s missing connection to apple health. I feel it would be useful to see where we stand when training.
Do not use this app.
There are clear differences between the instruction and this app, it’s not accurate do not use it as a guide to pass BCA’s User inteface is terrible aswell. This app looks like it was made by high school students.
Can you please replace the number slide?
I love the PFA calculator but can you change the sliders out and allow the user to type the height and weight? The slider makes it challenging when I’m trying to quickly weigh 200+ Sailors.
6110 is severely outdated
Instruction needs to be updated.
Get rid of the sliders, manual entry please
The ubiquitous use of sliders is pretty frustrating; it’s near impossible to enter the exact weight of run/row time. Please let us manually enter data into the calculators.
Updated info
The references in this app is not current
Where’s the update?
I’m still looking for the updated app that MyNavy HR has been posting all over Facebook.
Update your app!
This app doesn’t support iOS 16
Useful, just not up to date.
The app itself is quite useful, although it is disappointing that it doesn’t have planks or rowing added to it yet.
