HSBC APP can be better
I would prefer to see my EGA SGD Currency Balances straightaway without the need to click the down arrow. Can you make that conspicuously in display just like how CC total amount used is directly showing without the need to click anything. Btw, you aware there is the eye icon to shut off account balances, right? So it is baffling why you still bury the account balances, LOL. Also, can you move all promo ads to the bottom of APP? When I login the APP, my main concern is to see that my $$$ is still around fast and quick or to FAST out. For those promo ads, we see once is enough but HSBC regard as so important that it must occupy a big chunk of prime top space? Seems like only HSBC doing that. Whatever the APP is doing now is old fashioned cc ias compared to other banks, lacking in ease of use (sorry any extra clicks and scroll is lack of ease), and missing basic features. Hope to see improvements, maybe give options to customise home page so we can diy move away those annoying ads.

They refreshed the UI and forgot some basic functions like editing and removing a Paynow payee; you can only add and not remove or edit to verify details.

Credit Card Outstanding Balance not Updated Promptly
After paying my Credit Card, the outstanding amount was not updated promptly, only the next cycle and continued showing the previous balance. This can be misleading, and thought I didn’t pay my bills.

Poor App Design
The latest update has several flaws: 1) you need several steps to log out and it is not intuitive to figure out how to do it; 2) message alerts are listed under the “bell” icon that can only be accessed from the menu list; 3) once a message is read, you need to repeat the process to read the next message, ie go to menu to access messages within the “bell” icon.
Never like HSBC app confusing
Suggestion please for statement bal and min payment be changed to 0 once we have fully paid our credit card bill. I always find it confusing after having paid but still show min $50 and some amount indicated on the statement and I forgotten I have paid and went to double pay. I like CITI app clear once paid bal becomes 0 and there’s a reminder “no payment required”.

Closing credit card is a prolonged pain
Signing up for the credit card was peasy. The sign on gift never came. Cancelling the card however was a brand new ball game why you should never sign on with HSBC. They ask endless questions and since no reply was given as to why the card should not be kept, it stays on! That was just too bad and changed my mind about HSBC. Never banking with them.

New app update confusing
The updated interface has me confused if I had paid my credit card bill. It shows the due date and the statement balance but it does not indicate that is paid.
Time to rollback
Making the app like the HSBC HK definitely means a few steps backwards for Singapore users. Why can’t I see all my global account on the one screen, now I need to use the tab for each country?! HSBC, living up to How Simple Became Complicated.

Non-stop spamming of ads and unnecessary ‘news’
Fellas. Please create an option in the app to disable unnecessary notifications. I enable notifications to see if there are transactions or bank statements to take note of as part of user and legal responsibility. I did not enable notifications to receive 5-8 silly ‘news articles’ and pushes from HSBC about the most inane things.

Always confusing me.
Can you all change the min bal and current bal to 0 or decrease it when we have paid? It’s confusing like the amount is always there and we have to wait for another month statement and sometimes I forget I’ve paid when I did duel to the amount reflected in the app. Please do something. Improve on the app.

Apple pay card activation unreliable
The app seems hopelessly unreliable at sending the verification request leaving users to call a helpline.

Glitch at account opening
Account opening page keeps on glitching (turning white and not allowing me to proceed). Haven’t been able to open an account on this app.

Yes I agree with the comments above, hiding account details to confirm payments is both a very sensible idea with so many scams going on. We only use Paynow feature for small transfers to people we nearly know. Otherwise great app!

Improvement suggestions
Dec 2020 - thank you for enabling Face ID per suggestion and PayNow via contact. I have a new suggestion on Paynow. I’d like to be able to send PayNow Confirmation via iMessage, line, WhatsApp, while masking my account number and account name. It would make this functionality perfect. Thank you so much. For next update, I’d like to suggest 1) adding Face ID for authentication 2) in PayNow function, add contact access so that users can pick whom to pay via names, instead of having to manually input 8 digit phone number which is prone is human error. 3) in PayNow function, remember old or frequent PayNow phone number or contacts. Mind you that all of these suggestions are already available in HSBC HK app & PayMe. Thank you and hope the next update is better.
