The Best
I have tried several online at home fitness platforms. I have stayed with this one since 2022. It has everything I need. My favorite stuff is the beat driven dance cardio. Other platforms fail in that area.
Predatory membership practices
The company will quietly charge you $200 a year for life if you don’t request a cancellation confirmation in writing. Not a trustworthy business.
Love workouts need music integration options.
I love the workouts but I’d like to play my own music and listen to instructor like ladder app.
Not configured for iPad viewing
Wanted to try this because of reasonable pricing and variety but iPad is configured only for vertical view not more commonly used horizontal view. Additionally, it does appear that there is no way to cancel so the free week is not really free trial. And there is no support as evidenced by the reviews here and the fact there is no developer response to any of the reviews.
No Apple TV functionality
I really like the classes but not pleased they don’t have an app for my Apple TV. When I stream it to the TV it disables the music and put some generic music on there. I have never heard of FM.com - I just want an app for my Apple TV!
My favorite fitness platform
My favorite fitness platform. I hate repeating a workout . Obe has such a huge selection that you don't ever have to repeat a workout. I also love the personal banter that the instructors do in class . A more personal feel.
DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO THIS APP
I received an email to sign up for this app and then was offered a promotion. I chose to go ahead and subscribe, then once they get your banking details they will charge you double or triple the advertised amount which is banking FRAUD and unauthorized billing. Especially when none of the fine print provides a clause that allows them to do this. To make matters worse THEY DO NOT REPLY TO EMAILS. You have to come leave a review to get any acknowledgment and then they act surprised and say ‘so sorry for your experience please reach out to vip@obefitness.’ Well guess what, I already did that. But you guys only help those who publicly review you so here I am.
Longterm user
Member since 2020. Love the classes. Miss the live workouts / callouts; has led to me considering dropping membership. Miss the 28” hiit.
False advertising
The classes are fine. Kind of redundant, music is not great and they make it extremely difficult to cancel. It’s predatory. I emailed about canceling in July and no one has replied since my initial interaction.
Miss the old Obe
The workouts are still great, but I miss the live classes. They upload new on demand classes, but I feel the frequency and variety does not match the price I pay.
Glad to be back
I was an obe member at the very beginning and recently came back to it. It’s changed my life and helped me lose 20lbs. and gain a lot of strength over the last year. I love the length, energy and challenge of the classes and have really enjoyed working my way through a multi-week program and then finding a new one to tackle.
Deceptive billing practices and zero customer support.
I strongly advise against doing business with Obe Fitness. Over the last two years, they have charged me for a service I was unaware I was still subscribed to. They provided no notifications of subscription renewals or charges, making it impossible to know I was being billed. When I reached out to request a refund for the unused service, they refused to issue any refund at all and could not even provide receipts for the charges. Their customer service is nonexistent—there is no phone number to speak with a representative, and email responses are dismissive and unhelpful. After researching the company on BBB, I found that many others have reported similar complaints, indicating a pattern of deceptive billing practices. Their response to my issue was essentially to dispute it with my credit card provider instead of addressing it themselves—proving that they have no interest in ethical business practices. If you’re considering using this service, beware. They make it difficult to cancel, fail to communicate important billing details, and refuse to work with customers when issues arise. This is not a trustworthy company.
Please fix
Reaching out here as app support button isn’t working - some of the regular features of the app on my iPad tablet (OS 18.5) are not working: - download - all filters (except for gym, friendly, popular songs and one other I can’t recall. Can’t filter for class type, length, etc I can not update software due to storage capacity - hope you can address quickly
Won’t load
I deleted and reinstalled the app and the videos won’t load. Do I get my money back? My phone is up to date.
Disappointed long time subscriber
Update: I’m still currently subscribed to the platform for the time being, but the changes that have been in the last year have greatly diluted the price I pay for membership. They no longer offer Live classes, only upload 3-4 classes a day - about 50% express 10 minute classes, closed their community Facebook group, no longer encourage communication with instructors, little to no holiday or themed classes, and instead are recycling existing content for “new” programs, capitalizing on trends like intermittent fasting, PCOS and fertility, mood and period tracking, and weight loss medicine workouts?? No one is asking for this content, we just want the community and spirit that attracted us to obé and kept us around for so long. Some instructors only have a full length class once a month, which is quite disappointing. Would love to see them adjust membership pricing without having to reach out and threaten to quit or ask for the current pricing, especially as a 6 year member, I shouldn’t be taken advantage of because I have more important things to do instead of beg for a price that more accurately reflects what I’m receiving from this service. I miss the old obé. Absolutely love this platform - the variety of classes and schedule, on demand and live classes, the best instructors EVER, shout-outs, and the amazing community they have creative. I have been a member for almost two years and have no reason to ever stop!
Hooked Since Covid
I started Obe during Covid. I’ve tried to quit, but I can’t. It’s too convenient, and the workouts are too good. I get sad when some of the instructors leave, but they replace them with equally good instructors, and they don’t stop talking about the instructors that have left. It’s like a family. I love it.
No way to cancel
There is absolutely no way to cancel your subscription after trial period. Do not subscribe!
4 years in, missing some old features
The variety of instructors and classes is the highlight of obé for me - class style, difficulty, length, impact, equipment required is all awesome. Keeps it exciting to come back to! However. I’m paying the same price now that I did when I started, and for fewer features. The reason I originally went with obé over another platform was the live classes, which are no longer offered. I probably understand why, as I suspect attendance was waning post-pandemic as many people returned to gyms and in-person group classes. But still - they were a MAJOR feature for me, and between that loss and the much smaller volume of new classes, I’d say my subscription is now a bit overpriced. I’ll stick with it for now, as I’m currently loving the longer term “programs” for keeping me consistent and accountable. But I’d love to see a pricing restructure sometime.
Glitchy app
I enjoyed the classes with Lulu but the app is so glitchy that i was often unable to start classes or watch them fully without interruption. had to cancel my subscription because i slowly stopped using the app due to so many glitches.
UI functional issues
After the personalization feature launched, I inputted my preference but the app has been stuck at the generating classes page forever. This is a very frustrating user experience. I can’t opt out from this bug.
I ❤️ obè
My favorite way to work out at home! So many options for classes and instructors - never get bored! I couldn’t be more grateful for this platform!
Untrustworthy business
I once trusted Obé, but I only recently learned that they’ve been sneakily overcharging me for my annual membership over past 5 years after lowering the original fee I started with. I’ve tried reaching out to the company multiple times to reconcile this without ever hearing back. For a loyal member, you’d assume they would treat you better rather than take advantage of you. Not only are they an untrustworthy business, but the quality of their instructors has deteriorated significantly in the past year or so. Their app has also always been buggy, despite providing them with feedback many times. I’d stay far, far away.
Nice but difficult to navigate
I like all the classes but they are so hard to find what is all on there. Not everything pops up you have to search specific words
Bad cancellation process
I’m giving this 2 stars because most importantly, you have to call during business hours in the week to cancel- that is an archaic process and the app needs to get up with the times and make a cancel button like every other app. No one has time to call you during work hours and talk to you on the phone. 2) the app was glitchy with my chrome cast because the sound stopped half way through and at one point I wasn’t able to pause it. 3) I find the instructors calling out names “HI so and so, hi amber!” Etc throughout the workouts is distracting. I understand they are trying to engage users, but for me id rather if they were just using the time to encourage and giving tips for form. That’s just me ! The exercises were generally good.
Shady and Trending Down
I’ve been a member for less than a year but I know that two things that made Obe special were the live classes where instructors shouted out members and the Facebook group where you could interact with other members and the instructors. Well they closed and deleted the Facebook group without any notice and proceeded to get rid of live classes without so much as an email. Clearly the shutdown the Fb group to avoid negative feedback. “New” classes are being added so slowly (maybe 10 a week) and half of the time they’re not new - just recycled classes from months ago with a new date added. Shady. The instructors make Obe worth it but I feel like I see them less and less now. I really enjoyed Obe when I started last December but now I don’t feel good about where the company will be a year from now. Please bring back the magic.
The one and only!!
I love work out apps but I get bored and am always searching for a new one ….but not anymore!!! Obe literally has it all! You can even “build your own” by stacking classes! The instructors are all so engaging and fun! I love how challenging and motivating all the different class types are ! Try it! You will never look back!!!!
Casting does not work!
Tried every step to get it to cast or airplay and the app does not allow it, automatically says no devices found. Every other app my phone works perfectly fine expect Obe.
Workouts for Every-body
I’ve tried a few workout programs and this is only one I keep coming back to. I love variety of classes, instructors, and levels of fitness classes offered! You will find an instructor and classes you love! Only reason why I can’t give this app 5 stars, is that there are some bugs that need to be worked out. Some videos would freeze or the audio would take some time to catch up. Also, some videos would not load no matter the amount of troubleshooting. So the app needs some work, but the content is phenomenal!
App does not level up to the classes !
I love obe and the instructors! Somehow the app does not do justice to their work.. First i had problems streaming then the classes just stop tracking. Customer service said they where working on this issues but the fixes take forever to arrive.. 2021, no one wants to be carring their laptop around for a workout
Do better, Obé.
Used to be obsessed with this app. As a woman in my 20’s I found gyms to be intimidating and exercise to be a chore. That’s not the case with Obé. The instructors are amazing and make 30 minutes fly by. I had never tried strength training but they made it accessible to any skill level. In 2023, I introduced my younger sibling to the app and they fell in love with working out too! We sometimes did classes together. HOWEVER, obé switched their app/brand to say “Fitness for women”… which I found unnecessary. I don’t understand why they made it exclusive to just women? My sibling is non binary and finds a lot of joy with this app. I feel like a lot of LGBTQIA+ folks would love this community, but this change feels less inclusive and does not sit well with me.
OBE
OBE, is a fitness App that is available to anyone it’s good especially for people who enjoy working out from home, they have many programs and classes that you will love to do and it’s for all levels, they will meet you at any level you are on, if you have questions you can always reach out to them and they will help you. I have been with them for six years and they have not disappointed me, I love all the classes and the instructors are exceptional professionals in all aspects of the fitness field they know how to give you the results you are looking for, so don’t be afraid to join the OBE Family.
Technical error on workouts!
This is not a cheap subscription so I expect all the workouts and programs to work effectively! I enrolled for the sculpt burn repeat and the second class of the first week keeps saying there’s an error!! Why isn’t this fixed??? Why am I paying for content that isn’t even available???? The app gives me zero options to address this. This is not the service I’m paying for! I’ve been a long time member and no longer satisfied with the product. You’ve taken away everything that was good and replaced it with errors!!!
Would be 5 star but
It’s a great app. Just needs an Apple TV app then it would truly be 5 stars
Poor Customer Service/Scam
App itself is good. When needing to cancel my membership I had to email in as I only had a desktop computer and had just moved to Tobago. The app is not usable here. I had no phone set up to call yet. I returned to Canada to do the last of my moving on November 2nd. I noticed I was still charged for that time and wanted my money back as I was again going back to Tobago November 4th. I had called in to ask why but was told I had to wait for an emailed approval. This company is telling me I had never emailed them although there is nothing that comes to you stating that they have received your email (so this allows them to say whatever they would like although not truthful) I also cannot get a refund for an app I cannot use due to it not working here. I had sent the original email October 22nd which gave the company ample time to get back to me. Seeing and knowing their app does not work where I am I am not offered any kind of compensation what so ever. I called as well within a reasonable time as well. Basically paid for a headache. The should practice what they preach.
Classes A+, App F
Love the instructors and classes. Sadly the App is terrible. It doesn’t properly track classes, often cuts out if streaming to TV, and most recently started adding classes I’ve never taken into my history. I love the idea of instructors calling you out in live classes, it’s great motivation, but I’ve only heard my name a handful of times out of almost 100 classes. I’ve also had issues using their website. Customer service is always quick to respond they are working on fixing things but I’ve seen no improvements to technical issues since June 2021 when I joined, only new features like collections and replays that made add technical issues in App.
Functional fitness at an affordable price and elevated instruction
Obe is AWESOME! I’ve been a member a yoga/fitness studio (which I loved), but I was looking for something f a little more budget friendly while providing a variety of classes at different fitness levels that is as fun as the in-person instruction. I thought I was looking for a unicorn and I found that magical creature in Obe. And literally for 1/12th of the price that I was paying. Love it! And if you sign up, make sure to check out Walter K. There are many great Obe instructors but he is my fave. Always puts a smile on my face.
No More Live Classes :(
Loved for many years and lost all the magic. Used to be live classes with good recognizable music, themed classes (broadway, top 40) and used to have live shoutouts from instructors. Now is just a collection of on demand videos most with royalty free music. I used to love so many of the instructors but for the horrible music and lack of live motivation has ruined obe. Not sure why ppl subscribe when you can find on demand workouts with royalty free music on youtube/other platforms for free.
Love the classes but needs better features
I’m about a week into Obé and I’m loving the classes I’ve done so far, especially the dance cardio. There’s a huge range of classes for all levels and different instructor styles to suit your needs and preferences. Shout out to Peter T and his dance cardio classes for getting me hooked. The value you get is great, but the app interface lacks a lot of basic features you’d expect. I’ve also had some glitches - particularly with filtering for on demand classes. Suggestions for improvements: - improve search filtering (hard to use when adding more than one filter, filters don’t save) - ability to create lists of classes to do (separate from your favourites list) - when scheduling on demand class in calendar, link to class video (or have easy to find section for scheduled classes) - show an icon on video thumbnail when you’ve done a class already (like the heart for favourites)
Keeps crashing
Love Obé and all their classes, however the app keeps crashing on my iPad, and I therefore have to use the website instead, which is a little glitchy and way less smooth than the app.
Love this online fitness platform!
Been a member since Covid and I LOVE it! Great instructors, music, variety and fun! Perfect for on the go traveling too when you want to workout and a gym is not an option!
Terrible
In 2024 this app is shockingly useless. Teachers are annoying and terrible at cueing. Spent hours trying to find a couple good classes. Nope. No way to progress. Or plan. I guess this was for the pandemic. The teachers just announce names the whole time—romper room flashbacks. try LADDER
Fitness app
Amazing app, great work outs and instructors. Have had a few connectivity issues of late streaming to smart TV, hopefully they fix!! Otherwise an outstanding app and fitness program
No landscape view on iPad
Trainers are good. Sessions are great but, there is no landscape view on iPad which makes navigation on iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard very tricky.
The best workout app!
I joined Obe shortly after it launched and it has actually changed my life. I have such variety in my workouts, I’ve been consistently strength training for a couple of years now and have never felt better. The trainers are so motivating and accessible which I really appreciate.
Unauthorized Annual Subscription
The company charged me for a year long subscription, when I canceled my subscription in January and have the confirmation email. The company also will not let me log into their portal with either of my emails-both accounts say that I do not have an active subscription. I then paid for a month to get access, and found that you can't delete a credit card-you can only replace it. There's no working phone number either. Looks like I'm going to have to cancel my credit card.
