What people like
- Works well as a backup remote
- Completely free to use
- Good for changing channels and volume
What they complain about
- Ads are often pornographic or inappropriate
- Connection drops and is unreliable
- Cannot turn the TV on
- No real customer support available
Nice but not excellent/ works well as a secondary remote must have a different remote to turn on tv
Remote is unable to turn the tv on, it can only turn tv off; it controls tv well but tv has to be turned on by a different remote first, or you have to physically push the on button first.
Pornographic Material
The minute I downloaded the app, there were pornographic images displayed at the bottom as ads. And of course to remove ads you had to subscribe, to remove the pornographic material. 100% unacceptable and disgusting.

Muito problemas de conexão para usar o controle, mesmo os dispositivos estando conectados na mesma rede, por muitas vezes o app não encontra a tv.

App doesn’t work. Steaming sites force you to use app. Even YouTube does cast when I finally got a video to play. Should have 0 stars.
Ads
Why does an ad always appears before the app opens?
Nova atualização não está funcionando é uma confusão .

Não to conseguindo

Remote Control function no longer works in iOS (it does in Android)
It worked fine on my iPhone 14 Pro using iOS 18.5 until a few weeks ago (June 2025) when it updated. Now it only works on my Android phone. The “No remote control?” instructions that appeared on my iPhone were useless (my TV is ok - or else it wouldn’t work on Android). I just spent 2.5 hrs chatting with TCL. We tried many things, all to no avail. TCL said this wasn’t a TCL app, so I’d need to contact MagiConnect (! and ?). Just found out they’re a Chinese firm & there’s no support set up anywhere that I can find. TCL said they’re looking into this. I can only hope.

Does not work
The app has to be reconnected each time and does not sync effortlessly. Also, the ads are not family-friendly.
ممتاز لتلفزيون. TCL TV
Room for Improvement
The app gets the job done for the most part however, it would be really great if you could manage all the settings from the app itself. That would really elevate the user experience.
This is my favorite app

Review
This is actually the worst TV remote app I’ve ever had. This is less than one star. It doesn’t even do what it’s supposed to do.

Improvements
Thank you for adding device synchronicity and time for the beep boops to catch up lol
Won’t connect
Remote stop working was hoping this app would work. Huge connectivity issues…sometimes it do sometimes it don’t
Pretty touchy
I was so happy I could use an app for a remote. My last one died and the controls for my tcl tv on the side of the screen are minimal and unable to stream via Netflix etc. Thank goodness for (sarcastic) controllers media . I enjoyed the odd prize show. The remote connects one day then not connecting the next day unfortunately.

My bank card no good for you
Good for changing channel and volume but won’t turn on TV
Good to use once the TV is on for changing channels and volume but defeats the purpose of a “remote” if you can’t use it to turn on the Tv - FFalcon
Good when it works
The remote often becomes unavailable and you need to delete and redownload the app. Otherwise it functions really well.

The app is good but I can’t see my screen in the phone at the tv in iPhone but android works good
I’m telling you about how good this app works
This app works good with my 2020 TCL TV if you have a TCL TV you should get this app it’s very good The only thing i don’t like is all the ads
Good But Bad.
It works great! But now when I try to connect it to my tv, it will connect but won’t show the remote button. I’ve tried to restart my phone, restart the app and even reinstall it! It still won’t work. Although it was a good app.
