IM swim is no longer as exhausting
I’ve been doing triathlons since 2008 and a swim, remained one of my biggest challenges as zigzag the entire course and now I feel much more confident in that I don’t have to always be anxious about where the buoy is
Subscription required - Highway robbery
Just setting up the goggles in this app requires an active subscription. Even if you can cancel without payment you are forced to start it - handing over your info to yet another company. Why would anybody pay $120 a year to see their heart rate info. Coaching stuff is a joke.
Updated review - worth it.
Updated review after using it everyday for a month - yes it’s worth it! It’s a bit annoying that you have to subscribe right off the bat. I cancelled the premium plan without any issues - just to trial a month. Have to admit - I enjoyed the experience and the coaching. The iOS App may seem a little complicated but the UI is quite well designed. And I love the flexibility of tailoring your own dashboards. Kudos to the dev team - they sweated out the details. In terms of the hardware - I do think you have to try and see especially with the goggles fit - it has been great for me. The one downside is the field of view. Especially if you rely on peripheral vision while swimming like I do. It’s not as good as other goggles. The HUD could be more refined but pretty sure they are limited by the tech. Also, the charging cable is USB A..?? TLDR: i use it daily and will be subscribing. For transparency my first review below: vvvvv Why make it so annoying. Is the idea to bait and switch? Now instead of making it a trial I may join in 2 months, it becomes me immediately terminating the subscription because I don’t like this practice. This is even before I tried the goggles.
App to Garmin issues
Love the goggles, but wish the connectivity for GPS to garmin watches worked better. My Venu 4 won’t connect.
Have to enter credit information to use goggles.
I had to sign up and register with a credit card to use goggles. Found a phone number to call , but as of today still no response. Goggles seam to be of good quality, going to register and see how the goggle work .
Freaking awesome 🤩🤩🤩
This thing actually works! I had doubts buying the goggles which need monthly subscription to use them, but this premium headcoach is awesome 👏 It monitors your technique and provides really good feedback about your skills and how to improve them. The trainings it creates are great, like you hire a real coach, and maybe even better. So $15/m for this coach comparing to a human one is nothing 💦💦💦
Everything is behind a subscription
Frustrating to pay so much for the goggles only to have to pay a monthly fee.
Las gafas magnificas
Estaría genial que también estuviera en español para los que sabemos ingles
Theoretically a a good app…
… but hardly any functionality without Premium, not even my own workouts.
Overstuffed app, sub required
The UI feels high quality and is bug free. It’s not too bad except it’s basically useless without a subscription. I get that importing from Training Peaks requires a sub, but the workout builder? That has no incremental cost to Form. Lame. Also, the sub uses a sketchy web view rather than the built-in stuff so unsubscribing adds a bunch of steps.
Great
I love these goggles
Form
Not for me.
A quand une application en Français
Super appli, super lunette. La possibilité d’une application en français permettrai de bien utiliser et de bien comprendre les conseils pour progresser
New App instable
Unfortunately the app on the phone is crashing on interactions. Choosing a metric for goggles closes the app
Needs Improving
The idea is cool but the execution could be way better. I don’t have very good eyesight but only for seeing the bugs far away, but for some reason I can’t see the display well and it looks blurry, I don’t expect them to fix it because maybe it’s not possible but at least you could warn people about it. Also the UI of the app is pretty confusing and there are constant pop ups when I’m just trying to make a workout. And for some reason even when I put the pool length to be 15m every time I do a lap it counts it as 25m. The product is good thought as I need something to keep track and make workouts with but it needs something fixes.
Really cool product and app
This app works really well and the goggles are really fun. I've been swimming with them for 6 months now. The app syncs up to Strava quite easily. I had an issue with a recent update to the firmware and FORM was quite responsive in fixing a feature for me. Great customer service. One small complaint would be about how often they nag about premium features with pop ups in the app.
Dark patterns!
There is no way to proceed to free features in the FTUE! It forces you to sign up for premium then cancel. What a low integrity app design. I can’t believe this passed Apple’s app review
Great product but…
Been swimming competitively for a few decades. These goggles are fantastic. What I like most is lap counting and pace data in real time… especially when swimming mile distances for time and I don’t have a counter. Creating workouts and recording results is also great! You can create custom workouts on the app and transfer to the googles. Super cool!!! The physical goggles and strap are quality as well. My only issue and the reason for the 4 star vs 5. The most popular workout for any swimmer is interval swim sets. The app does not let you create this kind of set. Example 10 x 100 on 1:30. They do allow you to create a set of 10 x 100 but will only allow you to set the rest times between 100s…. Which is unfortunate. But overall an awesome purchase and hopefully they will update the software for better workout customization.
Forced Premium
I would love to try the goggles, but I cannot get past the forced premium payment options, that I don’t want; nor do I want to sign up and immediately cancel. So I cannot set them up. Awaiting developer response to correct the app.
Good features but poor vision
The goggles fit well etc., but the shape of the lens (??) makes it very difficult to see .
Year 2 with FORM
New FORM 2 Goggles The FORM goggles were life changing. The FORM 2 Goggles fixes just about everything that I found concerning with the first pair. They fit so much bette. It’s like day and night. I can now push off the wall with confidence that they wont start leaking. Thats huge. The addition of the Heart rate monitor was an engineering breakthrough. Now I use my polar HRM for other tasks. I caught the goggles at a reasonable price. These are incredible pieces of technology and its worth every penny with the new design. They are also actually “slimmer”, less blocky. The only problem I have is that although they have also provided the unheard of technology of synchronizing workouts back and forth between different fitness platforms, there is a problem with TriDot. I think it’s amazing that TriDot can send the swim workout’s to the goggles and that the goggles can then report back to TriDot on how you did. That is AMAZING! The only problem is that TriDot ises interval timing to monitor a swim and FORM uses heart rate to assess your performance during and after the swim. This makes it difficult to gauge where you are sometimes but I have found a way to work with the FORM data fields to keep myself generally where I am supposed to be most of the time. Otherwise, these goggles are absolutely incredible and worth every dime. I wish I needed to use the Coaching and Training programs that come with the account. Maybe I will use their programs if I cannot get TriDot and FORM on the same parameter for workout intensity. As a senior, I like the idea of using heart rate to monitor exertion.
Payment needed
This app and company is ridiculous I was hoping to just buy the goggles and track my calories for swim very quickly. But you need to put in your card information and buy the membership before you can even activate your goggles to turn on. Completely ridiculous and a money scheme from form. I am not comfortable putting my card information into an app and I already payed like 200 bucks for these dumb goggles anyways. The fact you need to buy a membership to even activate the goggles is a sin. And abhorrence.
Googles of the Century
I love these revolutionary goggles! I think it is great to read your performance and be able to make any changes immediately rather then at the end of your lap. I believe it motivates you to go further and do better. My one wish would be if it worked with Garmin Fenix 5X and the triHRM Heart belt. I use my Garmin watch all the time and when synced I have two swimming data that comes one from Form and the other from Garmin. :-( Strava doesn’t connect these two data either so it is a bit manual process to combine these two separately. The battery lasts long, cleaning and maintenance is easy. I think you only loose 25% of your vision not 50% as some mentioned because the data is transparent. I recommend every swimmer enthusiast these goggles.
Inaccurate pace for 20m pools
Regrettably the innovation of Head up functionality is totally undone by inaccurate data. 20m sets display faster pace due to operating as 25m sets and only provides correct data after the set so the goal of live tracking is rendered useless. Shame for those of us who do t have 25yard or 25m pools. Not exactly a difficult fix for a supposedly innovative leadership team from UBC.
It’s fine, but not revolutionary
The googles are fine and the workout generation is fine. However, something as basic as pausing your workout plan or being able to go back and pick up in you plan where you left off is not possible. If, for whatever reason, I don’t have the ability to complete 3 swims a week for 8 weeks, I should be able to go back to the last swim I completed and start from there. The progression system is time locked like an AFK video game. There’s no reason that I should have to wait 7 days for a workout week to unlock and then not be able to go back and complete missed workouts. Part of this is building endurance or achieving a goal set in the plan and if I don’t take the proper steps of progression then I don’t get as much out of week 7 as I could if I left off on week 3 This seems like a HUGE miss on their part and completely neuters an entire aspect of what could make this set up great.
I love this app!
This app is my favorite way to track my swimming without having to do a ton of math to know how far I‘ve gone! 10/10 recommend!
Can’t use the goggles unless you enter credit card
Just downloaded the app and it there is no way to close or bypass the pay part of the app. The goggle will not pair or update until they are synced with the app. There needs to be a close feature or some way to bypass the free subscription. Sure the first month is free but I always forget to cancel them and then get charged and I just do t want to deal with entering my cc info. Hopefully there is a fix for this soon.
Para cuando en Español
Me encanta la aplicación. Le pondré las 5 estrellas cuando esté también en español. Gracias
Started great, now just clunky murky goggles
I used to love my Form Goggles, but now they won’t even connect to the app. It’s super dumb that they would ever force an update when all I need these things to do is count laps. Now it just says “Connect to iPhone” and it can’t even do that. Spent 20 minutes sitting outside of the pool fiddling with them only for them never to connect. Huge pain.
Needs the Ability to Create Custom Workouts
The googles are great! The app is also clean and easy to use. However, as a competitive swimmer many of the workouts are very simple. I would like the ability to create my own workouts so then I have complete control on the workouts and then could align with my workout schedule.
No reading glasses needed
Easily read without need for reading glasses. Works as well a as I expected. Love the workouts on screen.
Rarely work properly.
I have to use free swim setting as the workout doesn’t sync
It has so much potential
It would be an awesome improvement if we could have the option to load personalised workouts into the googles. You could create them in the app and the load them like any regular workout. This would hugely improve the specificity of the trainings for each swimmer.
Déçu
Mauvaise visibilité sous l’eau pour voir les nageurs devant soi. Speedo est largement mieux. Mode français en attente… Dommage beaucoup de potentiel …
BELLA MA…
…perché non fornirla in tutte le lingue possibili????
Awesome app. One request would put it over the edge
FORM goggles and their accompanying software has helped me SO much as an adult learner swimmer. There’s a great mix of workouts and plans and the custom workout builder is one of the best I’ve used. My only request would be able to input custom distances or at least have more options than the current presets. As an example, I had to break apart the 1650 yd (swimmer’s mile!) to 2 subsets which is annoying. Hoping the custom distant selection flow changes at some point.
App takes me in circles
After I sign in the App keeps taking me to the fit set up which I’ve done many times. My goggles also state I need to update when I JUST installed the app! Poor directions in app for set up. I used to be a corporate trainer, some steps are thorough, others are not. Extremely disappointing. I’m pretty computer literate and this is just frustrating.
Awesome with a small miss
Form is the best in swimming metrics. The display quality and comfort of the googles are uniquely awesome, as well as the app! The only missing feature to be able set a certain distance to reach for the ability to count down and show the remaining distance. This is a base for a long distance swimmer.
Good Goggles - Do Not Like Plan Structure
I like the FORM goggles and what they provide, but I just cannot understand why I need to pay an extra $19 a month to import workouts I write myself into a product I already own. If I wanted to access the library, or share workouts with my friends (spoiler - I have none. I’m a triathlete… lol) that would be one thing. But it seems exploitative to force me to pay a recurring fee to use even the most basic feature. I just want to see my own workouts in front of me. Why do I have to send money to other people for that privilege?!
Doesn’t Push Data to Garmin Connect
I was really disappointed to learn the collected data from the Form Goggles cannot be pushed to Garmin Connect. Form should take a look at how Zwift (for cycling) does it because it cannot be that hard! UPDATE: Response from Form: “Unfortunately this is due to a limitation from Garmin's side and we are not able to send them our data.” My Response: First, thank you for responding, it shows Form cares about customer satisfaction. However, Zwift (and I’m sure others) seems to send data to Garmin Connect just fine, how is this Garmin’s limitation? BTW, I’ve been a developer for 25 years so I can understand technical limitations between disparate systems but if other platforms are pushing data to Garmin, the problem is most likely NOT them.
Awesomeness
These goggles are a game changer for me. Well worth the money.
Subscription Required
I just got these and despite FORM claiming that you don’t need a subscription, the app has a screen that REQUIRES accepting the trial subscription to proceed. There is no “x” to close the screen and move forward. So there is no app without the subscription. $250 for swimming goggles is already extremely expensive, to require $10/mo subscription on top of that to use the app is a joke. They will be going back.
Great pool swim & endless pool
These are great goggles! I use them for pool swims and endless pool. The pulse accessory works well. I wish they’d partner with endless pool.
In iOS 17 Non sincronizza più gli allenamenti con app salute
Con iOS 17 non sincronizza più gli allenamenti con salute
Good but workouts limited
First I will say the Goggles and dashboard are brilliant and score a good 5 star as would the goggles presentation of workouts. Unfortunately the workout searching / filtering in app is very poor. Also they are catered more for pro / high level swimmers only focus heavily on crawl. So if like me are trying to get back into swimming as a former competitive Breaststroke swimmer with a lane swim only open for 45 mins it’s virtually impossible to find suitable workouts. It’s also impossible to build your own workout which is a real shame.
Unlock Your Potential!
I bought the goggles for the real-time telemetry. The true potential was the workouts. I stay engaged and improving without boredom. I use a plentiful variety of structured workouts that use drills, equipment and just plain fun to pour on the power! My times are improving too.
Terrible
Needs a membership or it deactivates your 250$ googles
It’s app review not product
The informations in the app are very detailed for specific training. For one training you got everything you need, so 5 stars for that. But, if you want to see several trainings, than you don’t have any options, one star less for that. Thanx for quick response. Yes, I have found syncing options now.
Garmin Fenix 5x Not Supported
Can this watch please be added to the list of compatible watches? Elapsed Time and stroke rate are pretty boring open water stats and I don’t want to have to buy a new watch just so I can see better data on my new goggles as I swim
UI is good but I’m missing custom workouts
I would give it a 5* if I could create my custom workouts and send them to the goggles. Otherwise I’m limited to the workouts form creates which do not always match my needs.
