F1 at its best
There’s no better way to watch F1 with all of the content, viewing options and freedom to choose your preferred broadcast. Lack of Picture in Picture is the only minor complaint.
Apple TV Needed Now
Can’t get a separate subscription for just F1TV anymore, you have to buy Apple TV which is about $30 a year more expensive than it used to be.
Missing Picture in Picture
The app is great overall. It is missing the feature to watch Picture in Picture. If it cannot be done with the main screening, maybe a second screening should be considered on the app to show a PiP friendly video format.
Now with ads like Apple TV
Now after paying an extra premium to keep F1 tv pro without those annoying apple ads even this app shows ads now. Still the commentary does not match what you are seeing on screen probably 30 % of the time. Also you can just forget fairness of time on commentary of the drivers. This is MAX TV. We hear mostly about Max and we ride along with Max even when he is not in contention. We have a historic young new driver leading the championship and Lando is the current champion but all we hear about is Max.
Negative Audio Experience
The F1 TV app seems like it goes out of its way to restrict the legacy F1 international audio. You cannot cast the longstanding commentary with Martin Brundle and company and if you decide to minimize the video screen, the audio reverts back to the standard F1 commentary. It’s really disappointing because I like the extra coverage F1 TV broadcasting provides but sometimes I want to listen to the legends and the app now makes it harder to listen to the standard F1 commentary.

I have been a subscriber for a couple of years now , since Apple TV seems to have taken over , I do not enjoy the show no more
Non commentary race
Just watched the “race in 30” for the first time since the last update and wow it was nice to hear the uninterrupted sound of a GP. Radio chat and commentary should be optional
There is always something wrong
F1TV app is one of the worst apps I have ever used. It always something. Now it forced me to pay for appleTV which I did but it keeps giving me error codes everytime I try to link the accounts. And there is no customer service at all. Please help. Thank you

Races, highlights, behind the scenes, multiple angles…everything an f1 fan could ask for
Awesome Amazing Excellent
Excellent F1 Experience The Formula 1 app is a great companion for any F1 fan. It provides live race updates, timing, standings, driver and team information, and plenty of useful content all in one place. I especially like being able to follow the action in real time and stay updated even when I’m away from the TV. I really enjoy the pre-race and all the great information. The app is easy to navigate and makes following the entire F1 season much more enjoyable. A must-have for Formula 1 fans! 🏎️🏁

Picture-in-picture hasn’t been added for years now
DITCH APPLE
WORST collaboration in the history of motorsport broadcasting. Apple has brought nothing but headaches and up-charges for the same features that no longer work as well! I am grateful to keep my F1 subscription, separate from Apple, but if that option goes away... it'll be sayonara
Annoying!
Why does this app make it so hard to find the "Continue Watching" section? It always buries it at the very bottom. This is stupid. Also, why does it always force Closed Caption to be ON when I repeatedly turn it OFF?
Haptics suck
App is fine aside from the fact when trying to minimize the app on iPhone it will immediately bring the video feed to the middle of the race all the time. Lastly when beginning to view a race that is still undergoing you are forced to view live footage even if you choose to “view from beginning”. Do better F1
PICTURE IN PICTURE FINALLY!!
FINALLY! So thankful to get picture in picture which has been long overdue for years. We finally get a mini screen and can use other apps while watching. Thank you!!

Needs vertical support
Love the app. It seems that the videos are not supported vertically. So you have to turn your phone on its side to watch races.
Unbelievably inconsistant
Does not work with airplay, if it does it drops often. Never remembers where you left off watching. The only good thing about it is the historical content.
love the new ui, but why did you disable screenshots?
love the updated ui and picture in picture, which provides a much smoother and more pleasant viewing experience than before. however, i have to say i’m very disappointed that screenshots have been disabled in the app. i get preventing screenshots for the current race when it’s live. however once a race finishes, i don’t think they should be blocked because it prevents is from capturing some of the notable moments that happen. i have previously used screenshots and screen recordings to analyze and talk about the aforementioned moments with friends, and as a fan of the sport, this does, however little it may be, hinder our ability to engage with it. i strongly urge you to reconsider this decision.

Been watching F1 since 90
Rip off - does not recognise subscription
Despite having a paid subscription, support is not able to unblock the “restricted” f1 content. Started this year (2026) after years of good functioning. Better to watch public tv
Why
Why if watching pre race can it not just flow into showing the race. Instead of having to stop and restart a new program. For the cost the app is not very good. Certainly not F1 level going on. Schedule is not clear to read. Just over all not a great user experience
Any paid service should have the ability to cast that works
On multiple devices casting to a TV has always been a struggle. If it does work which is rare even on multiple different WiFi connections and 5g it limits the ability to choose which stream you want to watch. I like watching the British stream and it only let's me listen to f1 live while casting before it glitches out. I've had the f1tv app for 4 years now and this problem has existed for all 4 years. Seems like there is no effort to fix it.
Needs resolution control
It’s impossible to watch on a limited connection and buffers too much. Also eats data contracts for lunch. Needs an optio to use lower bandwidth under certain conditions (poor connection or when off wifi)

Case study in ruining an app
This was one of the greatest streaming experiences on the market. Ever since selling the streaming rights to Apple and moving the subscription to be primarily through the Apple TV app, this app has had nothing but “video error”s and constant quality degradation. Horrible of F1. Horrible of Apple.
Streaming and Roku
It works ok with AirPlay although it is not perfect. There are occasional freezes and disconnections. But it is much better to mirror from my iPad to my Roku TV than using the F1 TV app on Roku directly. That app does not work. Freezes every 2-3nseconds.
It could be a lot better.
First of all, this app is limited to certain platforms. Not all platforms have this app which suck. It’s a challenge to use because of this. This would be a 10/5 if you the app was on every platform.

Race result spoilers in notifications!!
Unless you can religiously watch evey race, this godawful app will SPOIL the results of a race by sending asinine notifications containing headlines which will spoil the outcome of a race. I genuinely feel like I should get monetary compensation, because I pay to have access to watch F1 races. I am not happy about this at all. There needs to be extensive notification settings to avoid this type of disappointment.
Time gap
I do not understand why F1 can’t synch the live broadcast of the races and the live coverage (with telemetry), the app is almost always 30 seconds ahead of the broadcast, F1TV, F1TV Pro or AppleTV the TV feeds always behind the app which is maddening when you want to follow sector and lap times while trying to simultaneously watching F1TV
It has issues
Sometimes it’s great and sometimes it’s the worst app ever produced. The Montreal Grand Prix for me was terrible, the picture kept on enlarging for no reason. It made it unwatchable. It wasn’t my TV either it was the app. Wish I got a refund for that.

Can’t airplay
The only app I have issues playing on my TV loads on my phone just fine. As soon as I try to airplay it, it just gets suck in a load screen
So much better than Apple tv - no ads, no stupid logo overlay
Premium content not ruined by apples advertising addiction. Slightly brittle authentication experience can cause login challenges sometimes, and its a shame the iPad app pauses the playback if anything steals focus; every popup sets you up behind ‘live’ leaving you out of sync with friends
Works when it does
This is a medium app but it usually crashes when casting into a tv. Also it will skip ahead and spoil the whole race because it can’t remember where you were in viewing something.
Good but not 5 star
Obviously great to be able to take f1 on the go and watch it anywhere. But the fact that there is no picture-in-picture mode means you can’t just listen in on the sessions and need your device open at all times. Aswell as the fact you can’t customize your screen to your liking and are forced to only pick from one live point of view is kinda deceiving for the price you pay for the best subscription package.

I hope this app is always available to the people of America. The lack of useless ads flooding the screen is a blessing. I can’t do without my onboard views they are absolutely amazing!
Screen Casting Issues
You cannot change the commentary language once you cast the video on a screen, and even if you choose English Intl. before casting it casts just English as default.

Any time I want to watch a f1 race it’s always just the title.
App has many bugs and flaws.
Has not gotten any better over the past few years. In typical corporate fashion. Instead of making things better. They only make new versions with more problems. Hard to explain the issues i experience in a review. And difficult to contact anyone as they do not like to hear problems.
Great performance and function, missing some key convenience features
Love the app, love being able to switch through different commentaries, on-boards/radio, and track position map. Clean picture and audio. However, there are a few things that really bother me after years of use… 1 - App does not save audio/video feed preferences (F1 Live vs F1 International - I prefer International commentary most of the time (although Ruth is great…), and the app is always defaulted to the F1TV feed… never keeps the setting. 2 - closed caption preferences not saved either between sessions. 3 - App “loses” its memory of what I was last watching, so I have to start all over each time. For example, I have been watching some Archived shows recently and if I switch out of the app to say, Gmail, when I switch back to F1TV, it is like I was never watching the old races… I have to “start from the beginning “ every time and navigate through the menus until. I find the race I was watching again (and there aren’t any visual cues for history tracking either… All very frustrating “amnesia” by the app.
Huge Fans
I cannot applaud you guys sufficiently. You do an excellent job in presenting all the Race happenings. My excitement and anticipation levels grow with each upcoming race. Keep up the great work. I’ll be Watching. GO F1TV!! That just about sizes up my thoughts. Perfectly
Broken International Audio
Devs broke the international audio when casting to a TV - you can only choose English and so don’t have the casters we’ve been listing to for YEARS (Crofty!) Shows someone doesn’t know their customer. Workaround might be to turn off the Multiview in the app settings. When this goes to AppleTV completely I’ll be blaming Apple and F1 both for this massive miss - the normal announcers are nowhere near as good and multiple generations have been listening to Crofty and Brundle for decades. Again huge huge huge miss here when the announcers are 50%+ of the content.
One star off
Luv this app but they need the same in car cameras and viewing options for F2 & F3. They’re the reason I still have this app. F2 has the best racing and F3 can be pretty entertaining too.
Fix the bugs
Dude are you guys underpaid or something? Why can’t you fix this subtitles bug? It’s not like your app is the best in the world as is. Get it together. Switching between streams is also slow. But you aren’t being able to fix basic stuff. Seriously. Some heads gotta roll. I’m gonna stop paying for the subscription from next year if this continues.
Buffering is new this season
Since Apple took over, I’ve experienced buffering while watching recordings of the events. When it was just Formula 1 running the show, things ran smoothly.
