So technically I have a Hoyoverse account on Zenless Zone Zero, (3rd Stop) but I lodged onto Hoyoverse with my Game Center account so thank you for giving us feels and hardcore challenges that no other game can produce such a talented lineup.
NO CO-OP ANYMORE?
The game is amazing but you can’t play traditional co-op anymore. You can only play with people through Armada features on special events. Bring co-op back!
Great, but…
Look, as much as I do love the game, I’ve been playing a lot on my computer, and I noticed that I can’t switch (on my iPad) from the SEA server to the ASIA server I play on. I’d very much appreciate if Hoyo could fix this, as it is very annoying, since I have all my good characters on there. Please fix this Hoyo, as it is very annoying, and frankly, a pain in the butt.

Boring!!!
I find it so hard to get into this game STILL at level 81. The events are so boring and dull, I have no motivation to do them. It doesn’t help that it’s incredibly difficult to actually get any diamonds to roll on their 20 freaking banners they have up, which makes me have to do the boring as events otherwise I get nothing. Either way the meta changes every 2 seconds so what’s the point in rolling anyway. The fighting is repetitive and clunky, I don’t know how the ratings on this game are so high when the product is so obviously bad.

Elysian realm is a horrible game mode
Any difficulty above 1.5 isn’t even hard, the enemies just take 10 years to kill. Not fun at all

I beg to differ bug in mine ( latest March 2024 update ) I beg to differ in 2022 I Played one game from start to finish up to chapter 9 end of this game pretty good for this intellectually disabled Australian .

Over all good game: pros and cons
Pros: - great story (well thought out and executed) - well developed characters and personalities - lovely scenery - now is open world - exciting combat system and game mechanics (especially with the introduction of aerial combat) - relatively easy to get crystals (pulling currency) - not scared to kill characters (it makes the game/story feel more real and gives it higher stakes) - great voice acting and in game music - amazing in game animations - is very generous with rewards Cons: - lots of power creep - over sexualisation of some characters (is it really necessary/ makes it hard to recommend to other people) - slow beginning chapters - no male characters (please make them playable lots are fan favourites) - they seem to be moving towards self insert MC’s after Kiana’s story (not necessarily a bad thing but more personal preference, I’d rather not have a self insert MC) - no English dub of the game (it has English subtitles/text but no English voice over) - sometimes has pacing issues with the story

Good but lacking
I’ve tried Honkai Star Rail & Genshin. Really like all 3 but HSR is the one for me. Pros: ping doesn’t matter so if your connection is trash it won’t hurt you like Genshin Similar but almost as good graphics to Genshin Similar attributes to other gacha that make it easy to pick up Cons: UI is severely outdated like 2015 vibes or FGO vibes. No variety in characters just skins and outfits and only female The combat likes their dodges to be bang on but no indication as to when to allow for the time slowing Not too F2P friendly and even spending wasn’t worth it. A 30 day gem pass doesn’t even give a full 10 summon worth I’ll be sticking to Honkai Star Rail tbh

Hasn’t the game been available for some time now? I still have problems logging in to the game every now and then via Facebook. For a game running this long, shouldn’t something like a login issue be resolved?

Great game
I have spent the better part of 3 years playing this game, and I initially rated it 5 stars when I was starting out. Now that I’ve been through some of the highs and lows I thought I’d go back and give more insight into my thoughts on the game as it is currently. VISUALS Hoyoverse needs no introduction when it comes to their graphics and animations. If nothing else you can expect a visual spectacle from their games, and HI3 does not disappoint. The animated shorts especially are among the best examples of 3D animation I’ve seen in any form of media, and if HI3 main story was adapted into a full-fledged anime with that level of quality I’d be paying good money for Blu-rays of that. As for the in-game combat, you truly get a strong cinematic experience with your character’s combo attacks and ultimates, especially characters that came out after Herrscher of Sentience. AUDIO I’m no expert in music or sound design, but what I can say is that both of these are amazing. From the intense action tracks, to the more emotional tracks during a departure, everything manages to line up perfectly. The voice acting - both JP and CN - are great. For the most part I prefer the JP voices, but a few characters (Kiana especially) definitely sound better in CN, so I’d recommend giving both a try to determine which one you like more. The sound effects in combat are also great, you can feel the impact from the sounds alone when every strong attack hits. STORY To avoid spoilers I’ll refrain from mentioning any scenes or characters in particular. The story of HI3 is a bit of a roller coaster. One moment you’ll be cheering as a character gets the power to defeat an enemy and the next you’ll be depressed because said character has an emotional farewell. The sheer scale of the world-building is immense and spans across multiple forms of media, including manga and visual novels. You’re not obligated to read these, but the game may make reference to some events in these other media and some plot points may seem out of left field if you haven’t read them. Having said all of that, the writing isn’t without its flaws. Sometimes there are typos in the translation that can take you out of the experience. Some of the story unfortunately isn’t replayable and doesn’t have a dialogue history, especially in the “open world” chapters, so you can’t go back and re-read it if you missed something. Also, sometimes the execution can leave a lot to be desired, with exposition dumps that can stretch on for long periods when introducing a new character or concept and a somewhat unsatisfying resolution at the end of Part 1 compared to what came previously. The story is still ongoing, we’ve recently started Part 2 with the ending still far off in the distance, so hopefully these flaws will become less prevalent as they continue. GAMEPLAY The gameplay is very fun and cinematic, and it feels extremely satisfying when you nail that perfect evasion or hit that combo and see the big numbers representing the damage you dealt to the enemy appear on the screen. However, some of the bosses are designed with annoying mechanics that require specific character abilities to bypass, which leads into the next point. GACHA Yes, this is a gacha game, where you spend your hard-earned premium currency known as Crystals to roll for the character you desire. Usually this in itself isn’t an issue, you’re guaranteed to get the character within 100 pulls (sometimes even less depending on the banner), and a lot of characters you can even get for free just from general grinding or from limited-time events. However each character usually also has 4 pieces of equipment (1 weapon, 3 stigmatas) designed to allow them to perform their role in the team more effectively, and most of the time these can only be obtained from a separate banner. Some more general use stigmatas can be farmed at least, although this takes a long time and often pale in comparison to the signature stigmatas, and usually there’s no suitable alternative for the weapons which especially hurts when you get into later content. Nowadays we’re also getting at least one new character every patch, and unfortunately powercreep is a thing that happens. Take the Herrscher of the Void for example: when she first came out, she was the undisputed strongest character in the game and dominated every boss. These days, she hits like a wet noodle in some of the harder content and the latest and greatest characters outshine her in DPS by a wide margin. If your focus is mainly on story and event contents, this won’t have as much of an impact as usually these will offer trial Valkyries to use in them, but in the Abyss and Memorial Arena modes this will become very apparent, especially as you get into the higher difficulties. Having said that, if you have a favourite character and want to build a team around them, go for it. Even if they won’t always be the top pick in Abyss and Memorial Arena, they will still be able to comfortably clear a lot of the other content. CONCLUSION The game is very fun, with stunning visuals and great sound design, and the gameplay is action packed and cinematic which makes for an enjoyable experience. The lore and storytelling is great, head and shoulders above most mobile games even. While the gacha aspect can be suffering due to how it ties into the meta, don’t get caught up chasing the meta since it is an expensive endeavour and it feels bad if you invest a lot into a character you don’t really care for only for them to get powercrept later. Idk why when i open the app it tries to update the settings but it keeps restarting the process every time it reaches around half of the update and it’s really annoying because I can’t get past it to play the game i need help.
