I love the app and what it does but a month in and my band busted. Thankful they sent two sizes so I could change it but worried how long till this one snaps
Do not buy
I purchased the device and downloaded the app. Pleased at first, ended up needing to use the xxl band. After minimal use the band started breaking. I reached out to support. No response after multiple emails across 3 weeks. Tried to buy replacement band, size and color sold out. Now the band has completely broke…no response from support. $160….what a waste for a couple weeks of use. While it was able to be used I did like the app/integration. Buyer beware.
Questionable reliability
When it works correctly, Aura is very informative. But the problem is that it falsely detects body contact or loss of direct touch to the sensor —- resulting in bad data and nothing recorded. Many have complained about this and no updates have been available. It is expensive for just a piece of rubber with some metal.
Love it but confused
I can’t figure out how to take a measurement? I did one during the initial setup but now I can’t seem to figure out how to do more measurements?
Bad Product and Support
I purchased the AURA Strap 2 (Order S37118). It failed with two months. I asked to exchanged the strap, and Support will not respond. The only response I have ever received from my 9 emails, is that they are out of the office and will respond to me when they return. While looking for a DIY solution I learned AURA has an unusually high, early failure rate. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT.
Aura strap 2
To start off I don’t like the band. It is hard to take off and I have to take it off several times to shower and charge my watch. I would rather some kind of buckle. It does take a measurement most times. Not using long enough to see if there is any change in my composition
Error incorrect data
After countless attempts at carrying out a measurement EXACTLY as described in the instructions I have managed a success twice and ‘error incorrect data’ over 100 times. When it has worked, the information given is really good. However, overall - Not impressed
Not easy to use
First, apparently there’s an alternative method to get reading which I didn’t know until I explained I kept getting errors no matter what. Now, the info on the watch is not syncing with the app. I restarted both watch and phone and they still don’t pair. It’s becoming more hassle than what’s it’s worth.
Great Strap and App
I saw the strap on line, read reviews, and decided to buy it. I like the strap and app combo. I measure three times a week. I feel it gives an accurate reading of my stats. I am at my goal weight, having lost 104 pounds with WW. However, my weight does fluctuate a pound or two, and this helps me stay balanced, as I can compare muscle mass, water, and fat.
Untrustworthy Company
I bought the wrist band and it literally was too small so I asked for a return. They ignored email responses even though I was in the return window. One email they offered a bigger band that wasn’t for my watch but refused the return. I disputed it with my credit card with all the emails showing they wouldn’t let me return it and the CC sided with them. Terrible company and terrible customer service. NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM.
Pretty nifty device!
The body composition measurement is really cool. I want to wear this watch band with my Apple Watch for all my workouts… unfortunately it’s just a bit tight… like even the largest size is snug… I’m hoping over time the band will loosen or maybe they will make a slightly larger size.
Still on the fence!
I sort of like the AURA strap but it’s not been the easiest experience ever. I like it because it’s a reminder to think about my fitness goals. I don’t like it because the strap is not flexible enough to get on and off my wrist easily, it frequently refuses to take a reading when I want it to and is hit and miss whether I can get a reading first time when it is working. The reports need to be cumulative over time to be useful so I’m persevering for now but it’s not a gadget I could wholeheartedly recommend.
Done with it
I was excited for the device and app. However, I’ve only been able to do a measurement once. I tried the troubleshooting and it won’t get to “measure” and just keeps telling me how to and showing my only measurement. I’m done with it and upset due to the cost.
Love it
Allows me to have the necessary information about my body. Very useful to make adjustments to my daily intake of protein and water.
Piece of Plastic
I was force to keep this plastic even if does not work. because support does not respond for refund request. It was promised one day and then rescheduled. I request to cancel the order which they did but they still sent the item. I was out of town and was not able to reject. Have requested the refund and returned label since then with no response. Stay away. do not waste your time
It’s ok when you know what to do
The app itself is OK. It shows you some parameters and gives you a monthly report of you composition changes. The band on the other hand is a nightmare. If you touch the sensor to soft or press it to hard it gives you an error. If you even slightly touch a hair on your arm it gives you an error. Sometimes it gives you an error for no good reason. But IF it works, the readings are consistent. No freaky ups and downs. So, when it works, then it works Better than my BIA scales.
Straps are garbage
The straps don’t fit and the one size that was closest to fitting broke while attaching it to the watch. I regret buying this.

Great Insights
I will admit initially I had trouble getting readings. However, once I figured it out, the insights provided into my body. Composition are absolutely incredible. I have a scale that gives advanced body composition notes, but having both allows me the opportunity to get a better idea of exactly where my body is at and what I need to continue working on or refocus on. The app itself is intuitive, although I do wish the readings from the watch came through to the phone, a little bit quicker, I don’t know that that’s necessarily an issue with the app as much as it is my environment and the significant amount of Bluetooth devices I have.
I want to like it
Really want to enjoy this. I constantly get an error for not touching contacts no matter what. The company troubleshoots you. If they can’t figure it out they just go silent. This is my second device. So irritated because these metrics are crucial to my journey.
Good
After initial problem setting it up(wouldn’t show battery level or device info) it started to work. Interesting to see all the readings, not sure about accuracy. Could do with a better manual.
App Crashes
I want to like this but I cannot even set up a profile without the app crashing. New bug fix please.
Stopped working
Working at few time the day I got this but next morning nothing. Late that day I got a few reading then it stopped. I reinstalled the app check the battery and still won’t work. I contacted the customer service and very were great and is sending out a replacement so fingers crossed. I have give this a 3 star due to their customer service but but not sure if the liability of the analysis or item.
Best Body Composition Tracker Ever!!!!
Does an amazing job of keeping track of your progress with losing weight and body fat and gaining muscle and it’s just awesome!!!!
Prototype feel, constant failed measurements
This product and app is super janky. The instructions are wordy and not helpful. This feels like a research prototype product than an actual working product that can help you with health goals. 9/10 of my measurements are unsuccessful and it’s not a fun experience. I would consider a different product if you haven’t gotten this yet!
Functioning but some pretty odd stats
To the developers: is there an upper weight range beyond which the app and device can’t give accurate stats?
Seriously, in need of an update
You can never view your stats it just constantly stays in a load mode, but never finishes loading so you’re unable to look back at previous measurements that you’ve taken
Simple and Easy
I love being able to accurately measure my body fat! I am a trainer and staying fit and in a healthy body fat range is important to me. The Aura Strap 2 helps me stay aware of body fat and hydration levels. Simple to use, easy to test.
Don’t waste your money
I’m on the second watch band after the first just stopped working. My second one was working fine until it said I needed to change the battery and after trying several new batteries, it just never came back. For both bands, they started out strong and then just stopped working within several months. For the second one, I only used it weekly and would then not wear it as a watch band to see if that helped prolong its life. Not so much. Save your money.
Reader Doesn’t Work
One day you’ll wake up and you won’t be able to get a reading. You’ll spend 15 minutes to get a reading which is is clearly inaccurate and another 20 trying to get the right one. They’ll tell you to change the battery, you’ll told them you have & then you’ll have to try and send it back to them. If you don’t want to be stressed use callipers & save yourself $100 dollars
My new accountability partner
I chose the Aura band for my Apple Watch and have thoroughly enjoyed using it to keep tabs on my weight, fat content, and muscle mass. There are several view options depending on your preference for data visualization. Keeping up with my BMI and reaching my target is so helpful.
Poor quality
I got this and had high hopes for it. The first one worked for only a few weeks. I contacted them and they sent another. That one worked about a week before it too just wouldn’t recognize me trying to take a measurement and is just broken. So I have an expensive watch band that does nothing. Pretty disappointed and don’t even want to bother getting another replacement.
OK for 3 weeks
This has just stopped working, I take readings every week same time, same clothes, same place no issues, until this morning…I’ve attempted 30 readings each time ‘incorrect data’ I’ve re installed, restarted the watch and phone, my hands are dry, my hands aren’t touching, I don’t move…constant errors…it’s now a useless rubber strap!
Great customer service.
I bought my first Aura strap 2 from a reseller in England and made the mistake of using it in a swimming pool for an hour or so, since it’s advertised as water resistant (but only up to 50cm, I discovered later). However, customer service promptly sent me a hassle-free replacement that arrived overseas in less than two weeks. So, bear in mind that this device is NOT completely waterproof, but these guys are serious at making this business work.

Hard time connecting!
Stops working
Had it a few days. Stops working. Deleted and reinstalled several times. Takes the reading but freezes and doesn’t relay the info. Few scratches on the metal patches due to it being under the wrist so not ideally located but understand too Had to send mine back via Amazon as either faulty or just simply don’t work
It actually works - disregard all the other reviews.
FYIIIIIIII!!!!! DO NOT SHOWER OR SWIM OR ANYTHING WATER RELATED TO THIS THING!! Definitely not waterproof nor water resistant. All the measurements are mostly accurate and repeatable with slow changes over time if used correctly and as it’s intended. Here are a few things that could help you. Haven’t had any static discharge issues. You don’t need to wear the aura strap permanently. To reduce accidental scratches, damage, and all that, I swap it out to my Zox band or any of my other comfortable bands. Definitely don’t use it & forget it on yourself. 1- Make sure your watch orientation is exactly how you’re wearing it. Left on left, up/down crown etc. 2- Make sure your apple watch is on “Always on” display. 3- make sure Aura app is custom and open for 2 minutes. (Settings-Gen-Return to Clock- after 2 mins- go to aura - choose custom 2 mins + return to app to make it easier) 4- make sure your watch wake duration is at least 70 seconds like they say - DO NOT TOUCH THE ELECTRODES until you’re ready to test. The electrodes will keep testing with the slightest residual body moisture/oil EVEN AFTER REMOVING THE HAND FROM THE ELECTRODES. But the same thing won’t happen if I do the same thing with a completely dry part like the middle of my forearm. So wipe it a bit with a soft cloth that won’t scratch anything and try again. If you move too much and want to redo it, make sure the palm sensor/bottom sensor is clean again. For most accurate measurements make sure it’s clean before use by always cleaning it a bit with nothing but a microfiber cloth or something soft. Not an Aura employee, just someone who pays attention. Also HAVE ALL APPS OPEN AT THE SAME TIME!! Just to make sure everything syncs right, just open your health app on your phone, open both aura apps phone/watch, might as well open ECG app if you tend to use BreatheFlow so that one syncs too. These are just some simple best practices that should be used and that have worked for me. No sync issues. No wasting more than 2-3 minutes to get a scan. That’s literally it. 5- UPDATE YO PHONE!!! pls if you haven’t, more likely to run into issues you’re a few updates late.
Good until you pay
The band was pretty good at taking measurements until I paid for a membership. Now it won’t even recognize me or says to stop touching my hands but they aren’t. Seems like an expensive scam to me.
Works but data is way off
The body fat and water numbers are nowhere near my Withings home digital scale so this data is currently useless. It says I’m 53% body fat which would make me probably 3X the size I am!
