Works pretty good with color but picture quality isn’t the best
This app definitely helps with the color correction of overly blue pictures, however, the quality of the pictures isn’t perfect… In some previous reviews the developer has stated he will be upgrading the quality of pictures as new phones are capable of handling it but I am on the 14 pro max (the latest/highest camera of any iphone so far) and my pictures come out slightly fuzzy. I think another good feature this app needs is camera stabilization to reduce some of what seems like motion blur from natural hand shaking. Tried to see if there was a feedback spot to recommend these to the developer personally but couldn’t find anything.
Old version was way better
I wish there was a way to get the old version back. Should have never updated. I definitely do not like the adjustment sliders not adjusting until you release. You should get real time feedback as you slide. Old app was way better. And took better pictures. At least on my phone.
After updating
Now become not usefull anymore after updating.. which there is no yellow / orange lense filter.. hopefully get back soon
Awesome App
I don’t usually write review but this app is so amazing I have to leave a review. The app does what it suppose to do, help coral show more coral under blue led and I also like how easy to use this app is, I can locate thing very easily. The only problem I have with this app is that whenever I record something and I watch that recorded video in the app it will stall and force me to restart the app but overall it’s a amazing app, worth the money
New update sucks. Now all I get is a black screen too
New update is the worst. Go back to the old one man. It was perfect before and now I can’t even adjust to make things right. Also for the past week it has been a black screen. Probably the new “4.03” update or whatever this developer is talking about

Why change
I bought this app and at first it was good and it really did help see my corals better in video then they updated there app and it’s a bit more frustrating to work with even though it is a bit more simple now and it doesn’t appear good anymore as before can barely see my coral and I didn’t change my lights at all ethier
Liked old version better
Liked the old version 10x better. Used it daily for my store. Not sure I like this new update. Can’t manually set the red, green, blue. Auto does ok but not great.
Easy to use
Brilliant app, I am 74y/o so no spring chicken, but I found this app easy to use, it would have helped if it had a few hints and tips, but once you get the hang of adjusting colours etc. everything starts to make sense. 👍

Almost perfect
Excellent app. Easy to use. Worth the money you pay for it. Struggles with quality when the blue spectrum is high but can easily be adjusted post production. Would be good if native Apple camera settings can be used.. ie the wide lense or the telephoto. Also with the new iPhone 12 the RAW capability of the native camera/app could be integrated to the app. Which will make it even better. Hopefully an update is coming our way in the near future?
Nice app but desperately needs a little update love
Nice app, does what it says for the most part. It hasn’t been updated in 5 years. I was on the edge about paying $3 for an app that hasn’t been touched in that long. I may get a refund. There are tons of little bugs and quality of life issues that can be smoothed out. For example, true support for the new phones and their cameras. I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max and the final picture quality after taking a picture is better than the stock cam but still meh - blurry grainy low quality. Hope the dev comes back!
Could be 5star if issue resolved
Using this with an orange filter I can make corals look exactly like I’m seeing (without orange filter). I can also make them look like how they are when I’m viewing them with an orange filter. Very easy to adjust with only three sliders. Issue: A lot of the photos I take don’t end up in my iPhones photos library. Not sure why. If this was fixed I’d give it a

I’m pretty impressed about this app! So far it is working good for me. Takes a little bit to figure out but definitely cheaper than buying actual lens’s.

The app works amazing! And I can get beautiful pictures of my coral. The one thing I wish it had was the ability to switch between different cameras on the new iPhone!

A imagem na tela fica muito boa, mas quando tu bate a foto a foto não fica igual na imagem da tela.. fica toda borrada. Ou seja, a câmera não salva o que está mostrando na tela.

Never knew this was an option!
Did some searching on the interwebs and found some talk about this app on Reef2Reef… thought I’d give it a try for $4. Not disappointed! I can now take pretty gangster pics of my marine tanks with the actenic lighting on and they turn out very nice without blueing out! Haven’t played around with it too much yet, but very pleased with the results just in the default mode! Winning.
New update is horrible.
This newest update basically broke the app and made it useless. So sad because this app was amazing before and nearly eliminated the use for coral lens. But the new update made the app basically garbage. The UI is horrible, and the color correction itself doesn’t seem correct. And doing the manual adjustments yourself to get it *just right* like with the previous version is now impossible. This is the definition of fixing something that isn’t broken. Very regrettable as the app used to be a very useful tool for me. It was great for 8 years.. why change it. EDIT: He updated it to try and fix it, but it’s still terrible. Don’t download unless they revert to older version. Why’d they break it or want to change it, I still don’t know.
Beautiful camera
Spectacular filters for all three of my tanks, but not quite as intuitive as I would like. Also the “auto” setting isn’t always the best to highlight some of the bright reds and oranges I’m trying to capture. Overall well worth the money.
Can’t use it to edit photos
Which is why I bought it. If it’s possible, it’s not intuitive.

Excellent
Works really well and with a little dialling takes really good photo’s. unfortunately to get it dialled it does require using your brain which Is what I’m sure is lacking with the 1 star reviewers.
Don’t buy it, it’s broken.
Bought the app worked wonderful. Developer decided to “update the app and look” and development time went to looks and zero to actual usage of the app. The actual usage intent of the app is broken. Too bad I can’t post pictures of before and after, it’s clear as day. Uodating my YouTube video to reflect the broken update and discourage from buying.
Good color balance but some detail is lost
App is good at color balance but some detail is lost and images are not as sharp compared to without the app. Improve detail and keep the original sharpness and this app would get 5 stars from me.
Not full resolution images
The application does what it is supposed to do. Adding gels, controlling the white balance and temperature are all great features but are all pretty much useless when you don’t get a high resolution image output. The lack of being able to switch lenses (on newer iphones) and the lack of being able to export full resolution images reeeally make this app not useful to me. It’d be nice to edit images in the camera roll, but I get how images are need to be processed before taking the photo, and if the image is not raw, some things aren’t editable. It’s a shame, I really wanted to like this app, but it is going to get deleted from my phone.
Camera gets the job done however.
So the camera app works as it’s supposed to. The only issue is it’s obviously not optimized to the latest camera apis as the pictures lose all sharpness and clarity. Also no way to chose between the cameras if on a multi camera phone. Needs an update.
Unbelievable
I thought it wouldn’t work.., it does. Finally I can’t take photos with my cell phone when blue lights are on. It does the job , and does it well !
Used for the last 7 years
I loved this app until this past update. Pretty much rendered the app useless. Bring back the gel mode, or just revert it back the app to the previous generation.

Bought this since it’s only 2.99. It helps, but very slightly. I’ll probably never use it again (only because I have a Polyp lab V2 kit). Just get a filtered lens.

For 3$ it is so worth it wish I could show before and after pictures!! Give it a try.
Update Renders App Useless
I work in the aquarium industry and take photos of corals all day long. I used the old version of the app for 2 years and it worked great; much easier than using a physical lens and I could quickly go from tank to tank with different lighting and have no issues. I have been trying to use the new update to no avail. The auto feature simply does not work on a majority of the corals I am trying to shoot (the previous version’s auto adjustment feature worked fine). Photos are too dark and the camera will not adjust to the coral. I used to be able to fine tune the color settings, but the RGB and tint sliders on the new version don’t fix the issues. No matter what setting I am trying, photos are dark and under exposed.
Captured pictures do not save correctly.
On the screen, i adjust the settings to the point in which i am happy with what I’m seeing. I take the picture, and each one is saved as if i was not Using the app, no matter what i do the settings. Not To happy

Used to be great , not unusable
New update ruined the entire thing. It no longer works at all. I’ve messed with the few settings it offers now and it does absolutely nothing for color besides blown out, or black with grays and grays
Meh
I read some decent reviews about this app on one of the big reefing forums, and decided to give it a try since it had pretty decent reviews. Well it’s not so decent. It’s virtually impossible to get a decent picture using this app. I’d have just as much luck using the xr camera and then editing the photos with the normal iPhone picture editor. If was any more expensive I’d be less than pleased. I’ll be purchasing an actual lens for taking pictures of my tank for my phone in the future.
Works great! The critics probably didn’t fiddle around enough with it
It absolutely does work, you just need to fiddle with it. For me, red at 3.4, green at 1, blue at 3.9, and the automatic gel filter looks the best. It’s pretty spot on! Those who say it doesn’t work just didn’t know what they’re doing. Trust me. Just fiddle around with it. Putting green above 1 never really does anything good. You usually want to have red and blue about the same level, but it depends on your spectrum of light. You don’t want to put blue at 1 and red at max to try to correct the intensity of blue in your photos. It doesn’t work like that, you need both red and blue. Make sure to use the gel filter also! It automatically adjusted to the best gel filter for me
