Change the name
I was looking for an app to play catan on and I downloaded this one thinking you can play the game on it. Maybe just change the name to ‘rules of catan’ or something like that. Otherwise everything else seemed fine for me. Great game so far. ☺️🥰🎲👍
Good, but…
I assume this is a good app, but whenever you download it, you have to pick between English and German. If you pick English, Catan doesn’t show up in search, but it does in German mode. Please fix this.
Erweiterungen
Hallo, erstmal super das es diese App gibt. Besonders für das neue Connect echt klasse. Ein Nachteil gibt es aber, dass nicht alle Erweiterungen in der App sind. Wir haben z.B. Entdecker&Piraten und Händler& Babaren, dieses wollen wir mit neuen Freunden spielen. Die App erklärt leicht die Regeln, jedoch nicht zu diesen Erweiterungen.
Super App und super Umsetzung!
Wir haben die App benutzt, um Catan das Sternenfahrer-Duell zu lernen und die App ist unheimlich gut und erklärt die Regeln super und absolut top visualisiert. Ein oder zwei Regeln könnten vielleicht explizierter sein, aber es ist ja 1:1 die Anleitung, also fehlen in der Anleitung des Spiels einfach noch ein paar FAQs oder Antworten für ein oder zwei Fälle, aber das waren in 4h Spiel lernen und spielen wirklich nur zwei kleine Sachen. Auch wäre es gut, wenn es mehr Sprachen gäbe, das meiste ist wirklich auf Deutsch. Aber das sind wirklich nur winzige Details, ich dachte zuerst die App ist absolut unnötig, aber ich habe mich total geirrt und im Nachhinein hätte ich auch 10 Euro nur dafür bezahlt. Aber im Vorfeld natürlich nie im Leben. Also die App ist echt klasse und ich hoffe, dass es bei jedem Brettspiel bald so eine App gibt.

The app helps you learn the basic game, but nothing else. No help with even a single expansions. The app could not be less supported and looks to have been designed by a couple of apathetic interns.
minor mistakes
Does what it says it will. Helped me and my siblings learn Catan. One mistake tho - in the rulebook, white starts with grain, brick, lumber. But the app makes white starts with resources from its other settlement - lumber, ore, and wool. They should note somewhere that the app deviates from the rulebook. Otherwise, it’s simple and gets the job done.

I see several games but Catan is not one of them.

Read the other comments I think the up is running smoother than before. Give it a try. Hopefully they see more user on this app and more improvements. The downside they only have the original versions and one expansions

Literally explains only one single game
There’s only just one single download - the original Settlers of Catan. There’s no expansions, no other Catan games, that’s it. There’s even filter functionality.. so you can filter between one search result. That’s it, nothing else is on there, except for the original game - Settlers of Catan: Trade Build Settle. I’m sure it teaches you how to play Settlers of Catan well, and that’s why it’s not a one star review. I wanted to learn how to play Starfarers Duel using the app, excitedly downloaded the app, and found that there is only one single tutorial. 4 years this app has been on the App Store. What? How? Probably completely abandoned.
Good idea but… doesn’t have the version we bought.
I bought the game believing that the QR code for the App would help us get started with how to play. My family is not one to sit through instructions on games like this. Unfortunately, the version we bought, Catan the game, was and is not yet included. We were able to start, but the development cards are not the same. But the concept is similar. The tutorial was a helpful way to get started, and made it possible for us to get started right away.

Gute Erklärung und für Sternenfahrer Duell top gemacht Die Merkhilfe für das Sternenfahrer Duell hat jedoch eine Karte doppelt, dafür eine andere gar nicht.
Screen Artifacts & Poor Demo
Like another posted review: things don’t sync up as pieces aren’t on the board (narrative says as shown on the board), ah whose board? Not the one I’m seeing. The screen goes haywire when triangular pieces of images dance across the screen. Why bother to put something out to help when it obviously hasn’t been unit tested, beta tested or user tested. Why is it okay to release junk? What offshore “talent” was hired for $1/hr to write this crap? What a waste of my time and if you download it, you’ll have wasted your time too.

Ich habe mir unter der App was anderes vorgestellt… dass zum Beispiel Catan das originale das erste Spiel was raus! Auch ein Männle, kicken Schritt für Schritt, das erklärt wie bei Junior… das wäre noch besser… beim herunterladen von dem Spiel musste ich paarmal die App neu starten um das Tutorial freizuschalten

The manual seemed too dense. The tutorial made it so easy to understand the basic rules of the game.

I was really hoping this would work…
I read the bad reviews, but I did hope the bugs had been resolved by now. They hadn’t. It works okay until the assistant tells you where to place your pieces on the board, and then the graphics go all glitchy and you can’t actually see where your pieces are supposed to go. There’s just a flashing triangle where the graphics should be. Considering how professional and highly-regarded the game is, it’s a shame the assistant app is so poor. It’s a great concept and hypothetically so much easier than reading the rule book. I just hope they sort it out so it works properly, because we ended up hopelessly confused and had to use the rule book after all.

Why is the app called Catan Assistant when there is no Catan anywhere on the app. Lame.
Invaluable for a complete beginner
Being a complete Catan newbie this assistant was invaluable in learning how to play the game. We learned far faster than we would have done trying to read the rules. My only problem is that after playing the game three times I just had to buy one of the expansion packs and there isn’t a Catan Assistant for those.
There is a bug!
When I got to the Desert and Robber part. The robber was green and looked very weird. The settlements, cites and roads weren’t visible.

Habe mir die App gedownloadet und direkt geöffnet. Mir wird gesagt das ich keine Internetverbindung habe, ob im WLAN oder im mobilen Netz. Ich kenne die App und weiß, dass sie sehr hilfreich ist aber so nicht zu gebrauchen.

First time playing Catan and the tutorial app was very intuitive and so helpful. Doubt we would have played the game without it. Definitely recommend.
Catan is missing?
It looks like all the Catan content has been gutted from the app. A weird choice. Is this a zombie app now?
Does the job
Explains nicely how to play, for those of us who can't be bothered to read the rules. The only thing I'm not clear about it whether you get victory points for roads.
Corrupt download
First impression was that the app would be really helpful but quite early on there seems to be corrupted files. The section on the robber and placement of the pieces had no robber or pieces. App help offered help to do with missing physical pieces but didn't offer help with app related issues. I deleted the download and downloaded a second time but the fault was still there.
Great idea, poor execution
I gave three stars because it’s at great idea to have an assistant to learning the game. However, the animations don’t work. None of the pieces are shown on the board when moving through the instructions. Also, there isn’t options for the other games in the Catan universe such as cities and knights, barbarians and traders, etc.

Wow this app has changed my life. The other day I won a million dollars while playing in an illegal underground Catan game, all thanks to this app. IT WAS AWESOME!!!

Good idea, poor execution
Was so excited about this idea. The instruction book was overwhelming for me. Nothing on this matched what was in my book and the animations didn’t work. The set up for this didn’t match the beginners set up in my book. Couldn’t see where to place initial playing pieces.

Doesn’t have any Catan in it
I wanted to learn Catan Starfarers. It’s not there even though the game box QR code directed me to this app. None of the Catan games are there.
No audio available?
No audio plays during the tutorials. This seems like a miss if you’re trying to use this app to teach more than one person how to play.
