App crashes on Roster!!
May 13 update broke the app. Now Roster doesn’t show the right schedule and causes the app to crash
Good interface but notification settings can be improved
The app works very well, and usage is intuitive and smooth. I like the option to pin or hide channels and messages as needed. My only gripe is that there is no notification settings that is in between “mentions” and “all messages”. We have the option to reply specific messages in a channel and this is incredibly useful, but you don’t get notifications for subsequent messages in the thread. Having a notification setting that encompass both reply threads and mentions will help to highlight messages that are directly related to your conversations, especially in channels with a lot of people.

Almost there
Needs ability to schedule send messages (without making it an “announcement”) and the ability to use bold text in messaging.
Convenient
I really appreciate the app. It helps to connect with classmates and the video meetings are great to work on group projects. It’s a quicker way to get a response on your phone while away from your computer.
Is needs to be more personalized. It sucks.

Required for school but still lacking…
This is a moderately effective messaging app, with plenty of extra features to leave you satisfied. I am writing this review primarily because of one missing feature: usage on macOS. Considering I’ve only used it for educational situations, group chats within my school, as a replacement for discord, the lack of a dedicated computer client really stands out. Best you can do is to have pronto enabled on a browser, but I refuse to enable any notifications from browser on principle, so having a lightweight client which could run dedicated for the app would really help make the user experience better for those who do have Mac. It’s even more glaring considering most iPad apps apparently can be easily ported over to Mac, and that this app has APPLE VISION support without having this support extended to apple silicon desktops and laptops. Really a disappointing move to support such a right-turn technology such as apple vision before their desktop support. It’s a good app but just needs a port.

busy working and my phone is going off all day. trying to sleep and in getting alerts allll day😩. there has been nothing important as i was reading just small talk. it’s very annoying.i just want to complete my work and be great.

Pronto is the way our family stays connected. We share our joys and our sorrows, laugh at the funny things grandchildren say and do, support each other even though we are miles apart , all the while, staying close to our children and grandchildren. The one person who helps us the most is your CTO, Ben Dolman. He’s always ready and happy to answer our family’s technology questions and is an invaluable resource. I hope that you recognize his worth in your company and reward him with a sizable pay raise and extra holidays!
Bad app
I absolutely hate this app. Every time I try to log in, it asks me for my email. I put my email in—exactly what’s on my Canvas account—and it never sends a verification code, not even to my junk folder. The only way I can use it is to log into Canvas on the desktop web, then press the Pronto button at the bottom. I even tried copying and pasting the email from the app to log in on my phone, and still nothing. Later, I tried using the link on my dock, and it told me to log in again—but again, the verification email never arrived.

Voice message
When listening to a voice message that someone has sent in a group chat, if someone else reads the message, or reacts with an emoji, or sends a message, it makes you restart listening to the voice message. EXTREMELY annoying

Unreliable
My school uses pronto to communicate both academically and socially. I believe there are under 1000 users. Pronto will typically freeze when I open it on my phone, and it is incredibly slow on my laptop. Pronto frequently bans students automatically, with no warning or reason. The servers also crash very often, and they’re almost always running on maximum capacity which causes abundant lagging, and if people are talking a lot in any chat the entire app will stop working. Maybe it works on a much smaller scale, but it absolutely does not have the capacity to accommodate even a small school.

amateurish level of functionality hoping to coast by on educational sector dependency
can't leave groups, can't delete direct messages, can't custom organize conversations by merging. the redundancy level of this app makes a visual mess if i'm trying to do group work and is only multiplied at the whole class level. i still have a non-credit course i enrolled in three years ago still popping up in my side column. app removed user option to delete or even leave groups. headache. certainly wouldn't use it by choice - thus the title.
Great for team collaboration…
Pronto is exceptional for small and large group collaborations, and has great UI and UX interfaces and engagement.

Terrible worst app I’ve ever used. Impossible to navigate and to set up a meeting with a specific person.
