Love it on my mobile
I’m really glad that I have Mattermost on both my computer and my mobile phone. That way I can write notes to myself and send them. Also, I can write notes to other people by just talking. That’s really helpful.
Barely functioning
Newest gift is a completely blank screen. Cannot access messages or anything.

Keyboard Issues
The app itself functions great, however the last month or two the IOS keyboard gets stuck and in order to get the app to function again I have to completely close and reopen it. Obnoxious, other than that... ya it works
Не работает с VPN
Mattermost oтказывается работать с включенным VPN. Для бизнеса в РФ сейчас критически важно оставаться на плаву, использование VPN неизбежно и уже даже почти все банки настроили свою работу под эти условия. Второй минус - нет уведомлений о пришедшем сообщении. Очень неудобно каждые пять минут дергаться и заходить в приложение - обычно проще расслабиться и знать, что если кто-то напишет, придет уведомление.
No Notifications
Iphone 16. Vs 2.36.4. Notifications don’t work. Warning says “Notifications cannot be received from this server. Due to the configurations of the server notifications cannot be received in the mobile app. Contact you system administrator for more information.” Sys admin sees nothing wrong. Other users in a group have the same problem.

Overall terrible experience in regards to security. I’ve tried everything and even with cellular data turned off. I keep getting multiple messages I don’t know how and it doesn’t make any sense. Apparently it is easily exploitable even with all your settings properly checked and tuned.

Fast app. Paywalls now. RocketChat may be better
I set this up locally. Playbooks was active in version 9 but not 11 for self hosted accounts. I dont like that. RocketChat has playbooks. Mattermost Per user pricing for local hosted is way too much for playbooks that wasnt even that good. They forced version upgrade with endless notifications, then lowered features!
Overall good
I like having MM on my phone. However most times I have to close the app and reopen to see new posts. Pull down refresh does nothing. Slightly annoying.
Frustrating
It works well enough unread counts have been broke for years. All thread activity shows as unread, even if it’s all been read elsewhere. Tried disabling all notifications, didn’t help. I have to go into the threads view and tap “mark as read” to get rid of it. Now with the latest version, even that doesn’t work anymore. You’re better off creating a Home Screen shortcut of the web app.
Good, but still a few bugs to work out
Overall a really good app, but you can’t add a team (no plus sign on the left side of the screen) until you are already a part of 2 or more teams. Really inconvenient when I needed to join a 2nd team. Also, occasionally I’ll see a new direct or group message on my Home Screen notifications but it won’t actually appear in the app unless I open a direct message to the individual who sent it. Really inconvenient if I tapped too fast and didn’t see the sender.
Nice Slack Alternative
I wanted to own my own data and have a self hosted Slack alternative so i could include communications into my current infrastructure. Matter most is the best at this hands down.

White screen
When I open the app, there is just a white screen, no messages, no controls. Nothing. Update: after removing the app and installing it again, I got access to the servers back. Thank you to the developers.
V2.19 not working with iOS 17.6.1
Normal actions: sign-in the website via Safari or Chrome so GitLab can authenticate when signing in to Mattermost server with the iOS app. Now: GitLab opens internal Mattermost browser. I sign in to website. GitLab does not authenticate.
Ok but has quirks
Often on ios the keyboard will cover what you are typing (so you can’t see it). That’s very annoying. The search is also not that great

All looks great.. except
My team and org has been using mattermost for a little over 10 months now and its way better than some other chat services we tried.. (its better than teams, adium and almost as good as slack)… I give a 4 because it isnt perfect… There are a lot of times when I get a notification on my desktop app but im not notified on the phone… and some times i send a message to someone on my desktop and it shows as a pending notification on my phone and it only goes away after i read the message i sent which isnt a great user experience

New version seems broken on iPhones
Upgraded to the newest version and no longer can connect to our server (also upgraded to the newest version). The web version works on my mobile and desktop as does the app on my desktop. Support requests go unanswered. Sigh … a once valuable part of our environment has been bricked
It does what it says
The app works as advertised. I’m still sad it doesn’t support multiple servers as there is more than one community I belong to that uses Mattermost. To the devs: I’ve updated my review after your response as uninstalling and reinstalling did fix the app and permit me to log in.
Notifications not appear for new messages
If someone posted messages, until I open and update/refresh I won’t know. So every time manually need to check messages. What is the use of this mobile app if no notifications. We will ignore app even we installed in mobile if it not pop-up any new messages or indication.
Not able to set app sound notifications
Due to my job i had to use this app. It looks good but i am unable to set notification sound for this Let me know how to setup this or anything i am doing wrong here

No Notifications ???
Anyone else experiencing issues with no notifications coming through, even though all application & system settings are correct? I only seem to receive the notification when re-entering the app. A little frustrating when we use this for business and need to have instant access to new messages.
App is broken on iPad IOS 17
Hangs, can’t type, crashes. UPDATE: Can confirm it’s the Apple Magic keyboard. Detaching iPad, reopening app works. With keyboard does not.

Latest release
Latest release is horrible. False notifications. Virtually non responsive to touch actions. VERY slow to send messages. Sent a message but still showed it in the compose field as well. Really feels like you released a really poor alpha to your customers Please do not tell me to open a GitHub issue. I did nearly a year ago with zero action or response. Very similar to another multi page bug report. Most likely sqllite filling up. Has gotten REALLY old having to delete and reinstall once or twice a week.
Attachment uploading improvement
I like the new ui a lot the bottom menu, every thing is perfect just a suggestion if we can increase the size of attachment that will be very beneficial from user prespective.

App acts funny , never allows me to send a msg with emoji, keeps on scrolling up weirdly and gives me hard time to scroll up Does not allow me to mark a message unread or snooze it to remind me later
Have to uninstall every few weeks.
Great app, but performance degrades significantly over time. Forced to reinstall to clear it up. Works great for a week or so and then problems again. The biggest issue is that there have been two open GitHub issues on this for months with zero response from the developers.

No longer works with HTTP
In the last update the app seems to have blocked the ability to connect to servers that only used HTTP. It’s very frustrating because now I have to use Mattermost Classic, which is not properly designed for my newer phone, or the web interface. Please revert this change or just give me a warning like web browsers do.
Voice Messages
Very useful and simple app, but please add Voice Messages capability. It's very minimum feature every messaging app should have.
Okayish....but
If the Mattermost app is open on my Ubuntu 17.04, this ios app should not send notifications for a group which is already on my laptop screen.
