Crashes and buggy
I’ve used the free version for a few years and upgraded to the paid versions this season, when I needed it most in a game, it has left me hanging where the app won’t execute a substitution and leave the players unmovable. Usually staying around the second half of the game. I’ve cleared ample space in my iPad , closed all apps and had this be the only app running and same results. Out of 9 games less than half actually made it through to capture the data of the game.
Helpful to keep track of things
Most helpful to keep track of players sub time and over the season how much time they have in goal/defence/mid/fwd which we rotate quite a lot and in the younger age groups. It can seem a bit complex at times, so you’ll want to use it a few times before you get the hang of it. A pity that if you add a Guest player, you can’t delete them, or even rename them (eg if you misspelt their name).
Incomplete app
The app fails to show the complete number of players you have on the field. This pretty much makes it useless. It won’t adjust, can’t get support. Great idea but an incomplete app
Some limitations
I’m ironing the app for U8 soccer. It’s 7 a side games with one child playing goalie for one half and changing with another child at half time. The app doesn’t allow me to keep the same child on as Goalie for a half and change them at half time. It rather includes GK as a sub position or else keeps the same player as GK for the duration of the whole game. I’ve ended up managing my substitutions manually with pen and paper 🤷♀️
Great for game management
This app works great to help track subs, scores, and playing time. Probably had a lot of other cool features too, but those are enough.
Lost data
My subscription is on automatic renewal. For the past two games the game auto stopped at the 40 min mark. The first time it happened I was not holding my phone and assumed it was human error, but the second time I was holding my phone and the game stopped and a message came up “ the game auto stopped at 40 minutes because you are on a trial version “ I am on a monthly subscription . Now it seems that most of my season games and stats are missing. What a disappointment, I paid for the subscription to keep track of each players time on field, attendance and some stats. I have nothing to show the parents now when questioned about fair play and nothing to help me determine starting lineup and extra field time for the players that are short. I’m very disappointed!
Great support
Had an error report that was showing and got a quick response and now that I understand that app better no issues. I would like to ask for a feature enhancement instead of the time showing the increments at the bottom counting up can we get it to count down? For instance if the half has 20 minute halves with 4 minutes subs I wanted to show the first sub at 16 minutes the next sub at 12 minutes and so on.
Something changed and ruined it
The app used to be great but an update was made and now it is glitchy and loses info in the middle of a game
Crash
The app keeps crashing throughout the game while trying to use. Very annoying and doesn’t save substitutions after it crashes. It used to stay on while game was in play but constantly have to re open app.

Super helpful for managing soccer subs and giving equal playing time to the kids.
Buggy roster
Roster management is too buggy. Duplicates players and then when I delete one both get deleted. Random players names get mixed up.

Soccer - also like to be able to track saves for goal keepers. Something like tapping on keeper and selecting save, similar to how we add competitors goals.
Expensive
It’s a nice app but very expensive
Wish it would work for Ultimate
Very nice app if you want to track player *time* on the field. However, as a coach for an ultimate frisbee team, I want to track how many *points* a player is on for (an ultimate, we can change the lineup after every point). It would be fantastic if that functionality could be added. Thanks.
Incredible App
I ended up with 17 players at a 7v7 soccer tournament. Without this app I’m pretty sure the parents would be coming at me with pitchforks because their kid didn’t get any minutes. Can’t recommend enough.
Subscription services plan $29.99 /yr too expensive
This is a great app I’ve used to manage subs for local kids football team. I don’t need all the stats, just need to track play time so all boys get a fair run. Just started the app for this season to find it’s no longer free (if game over 40min). $30 a year is just having a lend, even $3mth for a season is expensive. They could have sold the app for $5-10 to lots of people, guess they want to focus on a smaller customer base. Perhaps they should have a Lite and Pro version to cater for different users. Looks like it’s back to using my watch while I search for another app.
Nearly Perfect
I was up and running in minutes. It’s very intuitive. I was able to share the team with the other coaches. And the then the obvious feature request appeared. There needs to be a way to real time sync data between devices. We’re currently relegated to using one devices and passing that back and forth. Please add this feature! :)
Latest update causing errors
The app is good - reasonably simple, the language and syntax used is a little peculiar, but no problems there. After the August 2023 update, the app now subs in players into positions they aren’t designated for on the roster page. No response to emails.
Great app for soccer coaches
Fantastic app!! Easy to use!!! Anyway you guys can rotate the field do it is going south to north instead of east to west or vice Versa! An update!!! Apparently you have to buy it more so the clock can be set for more than 40 minutes! Bummer
Phenomenal customer support!
After making several roster changes at the end/start of the season I ended up with several duplicate players. Lin was very responsive to my inquiry and was able to help me sort out my error and get everything corrected as we finished out our season. I have been using SubTime for 4+ years and have always had great service. It is a great app for tracking players’ time, goals, assists and goals allowed!
Does not share subscription
This is falsely advertised as family sharing enabled and it most certainly does not share the subscription with family. Each family member has to pay to use it.
Great app suggested tweaks

No back up
I’ve been using this app for 3 years with no issues. All of a sudden my current season data has disappeared and no one can get it back. So much work, no result to show for it. Will be moving to a different app and no longer recommending this to anyone
Good app but loses time
Timer is incorrect and loses about 30 seconds each 30 mins which makes it difficult to know when halves will finish.

Not worth $$
I’ve been using this app for years but it’s not worth paying for when you can get all of their monthly paid for services for free online from other companies… which is also accessible via your phone. Aggravating. Especially since youth coaches are volunteers or paid little to nothing and now you’re asking them to give more. It’s frustrating!
Good app
I like the app. I have used it for soccer only Most of it is good, just a few things I would change. First, add more possible stats other than just assists and goals. Saves, yellows and reds. 2, fix the formations so that you don’t have to add 1- for the keeper. Ex, 1-4-4-2 should really just be 4-4-2. Also, make the positions manually movable
Does not cover American football
Has great potential for my needs but right now does not cover American football positions and does not track snaps or plays for football.
Please make it iPad friendly!

Game Changer! 1 Recommendation
Love this app for coaching my son’s U8 soccer team! It would be amazing if 2 coaches could have live access into the same updates during the game.
Upgrades Have Made it Worse
I’m one click away from dumping this app in the garbage. The latest version upgrades have taken away the key component of this application: calculating the fair distribution of play time across the team. If you’ve just downloaded the app and wonder why you can’t use it and the YouTube videos look different, this is why. KIS - Keep it Simple.
Great tool
Great tool. Only thing I would change is at the end of a basketball game to have it add up the total amount of points scored. You can see how many threes, fg, and ft made and add it yourself but would be nice if it totaled it for you. Thank you for the tool!
No football
Football not supported. Need to use rugby as the sport but will not let you use correct football formations. Also, based on playing time and not able to convert to # of plays. Fix those two issues and would work well.
Good concept but bball needs more subs capability
Concept is good. But for basketball I need a game of 4 x 10 min quarters with subs 5 mins in. I don’t seem to be able to create that in the app. Looks good and concept is great though
Bad update - fixed quickly!
New update giving me a white screen that can’t be reset or cleared Follow up - probably was fixed quickly (less than a week). Only missed one game. Great app for tracking a team’s playing time.
Crashes on new iOS
Crashes immediately on opening now. Help!
Time keeper
I coach competitive and HS football (soccer). This app made my life much easier, no longer have to check watch to keep track to f play time. Highly recommend
Not enough customization
Not able to plan multiple rotations as are common in hockey these days. Would be helpful to be able to load up multiple rotations across an entire half and be able to review and change them. The look and feel is good.
Life saver
This ap is a lifesaver on the sideline. Makes it so easy to manage playing time, positions , and track stats.
Formations
Can you add much more formations for soccer ie 11v11. (1)-5-3-2 etc etc. also custom formations can’t be saved. Thanks.
Great app!
Great job on this app serves the primary purpose of keeping the time and rotations. I haven’t used it yet in the game, but just was testing it here and can’t wait to put it into practice. I like how you keep it simple, as some of the other apps out there are far too complicated and ask for too much info. I will share more feedback once I use it more; thank you!
I LOVE this app for our soccer games
As a coach of a U12 team I LOVE this app for managing subs and realtime score/play keeping. It would be a lot harder with pencil and paper. After the game, I can analyze exactly which players were doing which positions at a given point in the timeline. This helps me tremendously in strategizing for the next game about what worked for us. One small suggestion for the developer, can you include more formations - specifically the 9v9 3-4-1 formation. For now, I am able to use the 3-2-3 formation as a workaround.
Nice but...
Great app but I wish there was an option that would automatically shuffle players that remain in after substitutions so coaches can balance playing time between positions.
