Slow and Clubky
This app is so slow… my child has completed work and yet on my Firefly parents app it shows that it is still due. Also in the done section it is totally blank. How does this a help to parents, when you’re trying to support your children? If I didn’t have to use this app, I wouldn’t.
Can’t mark tasks as done!!!!!
Since the latest update, I have 2 children that I’m trying to keep track of re completed homework and despite them marking tasks as done, they still remain as ‘to do’ and then subsequently show as ‘outstanding tasks’ incorrectly! Not helpful at all. Please fix :-(
Hard to get to report to Absence
I have been using firefly for roughly two years, usually no problems. Until recently there was a new update and I could no longer get to report my child as absent. This used to be on the dashboard and used to be easy, now I have to log into my computer to report as I no longer see anything in the app with this functionality. Also, the booking area used to take me to the web page to submit bookings with the school, but now it appears to be trying to install a certificate and didn’t work until I uninstalled and reinstalled to see if that would resolve the issue. I haven’t had this issue with updates before, just a bit frustrating with this last update.
Great app and website
My children use it for school and I’ve had no problems with it. Very helpful and useful! :)
Utter garbage
Frustratingly difficult to navigate before a recent update, it is now completely useless, can’t open emails, domain doesn’t match app, can’t get to any of the school links that used to be on the dashboard. The guide says “if you want to add bookmarks, go to the website” Seriously. Zero stars is the actual rating deserved.
Fetching data / retrying
First time I have used this app on advice from the school and I just keep getting a ‘fetching data / retrying’ message. Any ideas why this will not work?
So many bugs
It’s useful but can’t read messages or tasks since the update, I click on them but they aren’t there.
Missing items after update
Most of the previous info is now missing after the update.
App frozen after password reset
Needed to reset password. Screen notifying me to check emails is frozen with no option to go back to Home Screen or refresh. Only option is to delete app and reinstall.
Usability issues
One of the worst UIs. Virtually impossible to read any data due to fields not fitting on screen or being truncated .. an app within an app - homepage looks ok.. but when you go deeper you are back in the old view. To the developers.. just build a completely new mobile front end… please. This is like they hooked up an old Pentium PC app to iOS…
Changed the app for the worse
Changed the app, now I can’t find anything!
Change isn’t good!
I used to be able to view all letters from firefly app (this is the only useful function on app). Now when you click on messages - it comes up with all letters without title so you’d have to click into each to find out what the letter was about. What’s the point of having a function that’s not useful at all? Search also didn’t work. Disappointing.
Cannot use since iOS 17 update
Ever since I did the update to iOS 17 I cannot get the app to refresh. Tried deleting and reinstalling but nothing!
Please hire some designers
Considering children and parents have to rely on this product to connect with their children’s education I’m pretty unhappy at how poor the implementation is. Bugs aside which are regular the general quality is dreadful. The only saving grace is it’s free and not quite as painful as the website. You people need some UX professionals to sort this out!
