What people like
- Perfect companion for Emacs Org Mode users
- No ads or annoying paywalls for core features
- Powerful enough to build custom Kanban boards
What they complain about
- UI feels clunky and awkward on small screens
- Syncing with iCloud can delete your data
- Does not support nested folders properly
Solid todo app
Floated around a few different todo apps but always found myself going back to eMacs Org Agenda. It’s really nice to have a mobile app that can read that same org file and is basically as extensible as eMacs is. If you’re happy to pay for some of the extras (which you should) you can do time tracking, syncing of calendars to org files and a few other things. Not too sure how good it is as a standalone todo app but for an eMacs user this is a really good way of accessing some of orgmode’s productivity features on the go
Deleted my data :(
Update of the App DELETED my calender data; this is an absolute killer and very annoying as well; deleted the App, Goodbye!
Wish there was support for tables
Would be perfect for me if there was better support for tables
Heavy feature set, poor UI.
App has a heavy feature set, but doesn’t feel thought out for what you’d really want when using your phone. Poor use of UI elements, clunky animation, and unfriendly layout. For example, to set between DONE/TODO I must tap, then watch the box animate, then select, and I can’t tap outside the box to cancel.
time zone bug?
The reminder feature notifies me one hour before the set time. Could this be a bug caused by daylight saving time? (in Japan, we don't have daylight saving time)
Easy to use with lots of functionality
I am a big fan of Beorg. To start you can just use it as a simple todo list but it offers so much functionality that you can shape it to whatever you want. For example, I was able to create a kanban board using the powerful sorting and grouping tools in search. Like emacs, this app offers a lot of power.
すごいいいアプリ
なんか最近バグがよくある（次の日のにもやってないと出てくる）ので直して欲しいです。でもこのアプリはとてもいいと思っています。
Great to access my org files on the go, UI is too complex
Thanks for the mostly useable app. My only regret is I don’t like to use it because the Ui is too cluttered, the editor is too small, the overall design too repealing. If you have the money it would be a good idea to hire a professional freelance designer to cleanup things. You might end with a great app any people and not only org-mode fans could use !! Best
Cannot sync with dropbox
Good to find a product like this. Sadly I failed to sync the file with dropbox.
Uncomfortable to use
It has good features and is easy to understand. But it’s fiddly and awkward to use. For example, it takes four taps to mark a task done (open, state, done, save). A tool like this needs to feel fluid, and this doesn’t.
Amazing GTD APP
As a emacs user I have been waiting for a good org mode integration app. This does exactly that and more. You don’t have to be an emacs user to use this. It’s very simple and connects to your calendars so you can have a central place for the agenda.
Not much use if you're fully into orgmode
I use emacs and orgmode. The whole point of orgmode is that all TODOs are pulled out from wherever they are. If you've been using orgmode for any length of time you're going to have nested folders. As Beorg does not support recursive folders it's a non-starter for me, which is a shame as it looks a great app.
Great App but missing a few features
First off: Beorg will be the best App you can find for Orgmode on iOS. Stat. I love using the terminal on my laptop but on a phone, you simply need to work differently. And that‘s where beorg really shines. Especially today, it‘s not so easy finding a good to-do app that will work with an established standard (even iCal) - I simply love the app for being so uncomplicated while working with a plaintext file. Also I applaud the decision to give the user the choice to pay for individual features as well as supporting the app with a subscription. There‘s only a few (little) things I‘m missing: - Option to show tasks scheduled for today as badge (currently it only seems to show overdue tasks) - Refresh badge upon notification (when you cross the deadline of a task, it will give you a notification, but the badge will only be updated the next time you open the app) - Quicker marking as „done“: I split my projects into multiple smaller tasks and therefore tick of a lot of todos. it would be great to have an interactible checkbox right next to any todo item that would mark it as done without longpressing it item and then select „done“. It would just remove a step between getting things done.
Almost unusable on 4“ devices
I think this is generally a great application. Unfortunately its ui has been optimized for large screen devices what makes it a pain to use on my 4“ iPhone SE I encountered the following issues: - when editing the keyboard and its toolbar above covers almost the whole file content - the date picker for scheduled tasks is not fitting on the screen and i am unable to select the lower buttons There are some more inconveniences but these are by far the most annoying issues. i would love to use your app on a daily basis and hope you can provide a fix for these problems. Thanks Marcel
Has promise ...
I dig the concept (I was searching for an emacs app when I came open beorg) but it feels half baked so it won’t be replacing my existing solid cross platform tasking app. But I’ll keep my eye on it and test it as updates come so who knows, it may win out in the end. I do wish the developer mondo good luck and well wishes on his quest ...
Amazing!
If you could add OneDrive sync, then I will not have to use Dropbox. Irrespective of this, this is amazing app which helps me use emacs on my MacBook and Linux desktop while making sure I don’t miss anything important while I am on mobile devices.
App
Kein Support in Deutsch , man wird an Forum verwiesen , Website Hilfe englisch , wollte wissen ob ich Badge auf das App bekomme, ich bekomme nur Benachrichtigung
Awesome use of org mode
The app makes a wonderful organization tool. I just wish the developers would create a macOS version so that I can stay organized across all my devices - a key feature of any organization tool is that it is available on whatever device you are on right now.
Much better than before
Beorg is a really good app for both outlining and org mode agendas. It has improved a lot since I last used It a few years back.
Data loss with iCloud Drive Sync
This app extends some features of emacs orgmode to IOS. This is good and I hope they continue to develop even more features. Syncing with iCloud Drive however is erroneous and may lead to data loss. I discovered lag of more than 20 minutes of discovering changes in the orgfile. The refresh button is without effect. Saving an orgfile will overwrite the file in iCloud Drive. Doing this twice will lead to a loss of recent changes from computer to the same file. Please fix the sync before doing any other stuff.
Great text based organiser.
Old skool nesting lists. Schedule reminders. Sync with Box to share your lists. Companion to emacs org-mode. This app can be used as a stand alone utility, like I do; if you don’t use emacs (mainly used by programmers). *** Feature Request *** Can agenda view be more than one week, please? Monthly, quarterly, annual; would be great. Would be willing to pay for an in-app purchase, for this.
Amazing!
This app was my gateway drug to emacs. I’m not joking when I say it’s changed my life for the better. I’m a first year computer science PhD student and I was juggling all sorts of ways of keeping notes, papers, todos etc, and I was constantly getting stressed out because info wasn’t where I thought it was. Now I have one .org file for my phd work, one for my personal projects, and one for my other “todos”. I’ve been using this system for around 4 weeks and it’s actually helped me focus on getting things done rather than faffing around with productivity tools. It takes a couple of days to get used to org-mode and emacs in general, but it is absolutely worth it.
Just needs more sync alternatives :)
Org mode on iPhone! And it’s good! :O I hope more sync options become available as iCloud isn’t available on Linux and Dropbox recently introduced a limit on the number of synced devices so it’s a bit limited now
A very well rounded app.
It’s pure functional. It works both as a todo manager and as a companion app. I can take both todo lists, but also capture thoughts and use Org as I do in emacs, without the emacs. It’s fun powerful and in many ways non intrusive. You won’t be bothered with ads, and no paywalled features. This app deserves some support. I wish more were like it.
OrgMode solution for iOS
Better than OrgMobile solution already. Keep up the good work!
Amazing
If it can add more features. It will be better.
iCloud & Google drive not supported
Good app apart from this
Extremely promising
This is a much better solution than mobileorg! Not fully featured but it does what it does well.
Works really well
This is an excellent app. I find it much easier to use than the other one. It is reliable and the calendar integration is great. Excellent job. Look forwards to seeing this develop.
