Great app!
The app works 99% of the time. Love the ease and convenience of logging it as an award participant. Sometimes the site does crash but will quickly recover.
Some very annoying bugs
It works ok except for 2 things which force me to use it on desktop instead: - sometimes (especially if I've uploaded a lot of photos) it doesn't save the log when I click "save", which is very annoying if I just wrote a whole paragraph and have to write it again. - the description section of the logs is way to small. It should be a paragraph text entry like it is on desktop, not a single line. (Edit: looks like someone already asked for this 7 years ago so ig not getting changed soon). If those are fixed it would make it so much better and actually make it useful on mobile.
Transferring schools
When I moved schools I was half way through my Bronze DOE. So I had to change my award leader to my new school, I tried to switch it multiple times but it didn’t change, it stayed the same as my old schools award leader.

This app is really good and makes it really easy to log your hours and things that you are doing!!

The UI isn’t bad by any means it is more just a pain to actually log hours and do things on it
Great App-Attaching photo is an issue though
The ORB App is an incredibly useful, convenient and effective tool, but when attaching photos and links for evidence on an iPhone it often simply doesn’t work and usually won’t save or display the change
Very glitchy
When you submit to an assessor it can time out but you are not notified of this. With one activity it was easy to resubmit once alerted to the problem but with the other it was impossible.

Great app.. room for improvement
Overall an extremely useful resource for anyone completing any stage of Duke of Ed. Would be really useful and be a better resource for hours logging if: The Overview part of Adventurous journey section could be edited after submitted, or if your leader doesn’t accept it and submits it back it doesn’t allow you to change the details of the trip. Plan and prep section of adventurous journey - same thing - would be useful if after initially submitting could Change the dates of the selected (green switches) things have been initially entered in - could enter sub submissions in the details of logs - - allow comments to be attached when making submissions to your supervisors and leader and vise verse them be allowed to, especially when they don’t except a submission would be helpful to allow comment and message attachment in logging Would also be helpfull if you actually included some information about duke of Ed in the app itself, obviously all the info on the web page is very helpful but would be good to have some of that info all in the same place

Hours not adding up
I’ve been adding my hours up and it has not been adding them correctly For my major I did my volunteering which I have done 24 hours but it is only saying I’ve done 13 hours which is very annoying 😡
Great app
I recently used this app for my Duke of ed silver, this app helped me progressed through my entire journey and has little to no glitches, although I would prefer to know when times reset so I can track my hours.
Feedback
The app submits when the screen is not complete Locks with messages such as “awaiting approval” While waiting no information can be seen to check, for example the email address it was sent to. Impossible to edit and resubmit No updates or notifications on how approvals are going

If I wasn’t getting anything out of this I would have been mad because this app is horrible it always kicks me out and is just stubborn also it on,h records one hour even if I do 2 hours a day it records one.I asked my teacher about it and she says that’s how the app works.Its also hard to use.I just finished my bronze so I hope it’s better for silver.

Good app, wish you could delete awards that are authorised.
This app is great
Overall this does what you need it to do, yes like everything else there are some things that are better to do on a computer but for the main part every bit of this app works, I have not had one problem with it yet, now if there where one thing that I could change/ improve on is to add the resend assessment to assist button that is on the website but for some reason it’s not on the mobile app. But besides that one little thing that you would be able to work around this app does everything that you would need
Doesn’t work anymore
Worked for about two months in the spring, then it just started saying “network error” and “swipe down to refresh” and hasn’t starting working again no matter how many times I redownload the app. I’ve had to go on the website on safari or just use my laptop instead, which is a bit frustrating. It’s been 8 months since I originally downloaded the app. Response to developers’ comment: no it is still not working at all. I’m able to sign in fine but after that nothing loads and that’s when it gives me the error.
Efficient but limited
This app is useful for easy logging of Duke of Edinburgh logs on the go, allowing for participants to quickly do their paperwork on the bus or train. I found this very useful however there are some limitations such as uploading documents or photos. It is good to note that this app is not to replace the online version, but rather to supplement it and focus on regular updates of logs.
Ok
This app is really useful to log in my Duke of Ed hours, but when I put in sessions that are more than 1h, it just counts it as one. Like, I’ve done all the hours for skills, but it says that I haven’t, which is really annoying.
Gets stuck waiting for approval
I’ve found the app easy to use for both my sons who are now on Gold level. But it’s frustrating when it gets stuck on “waiting for approval “. If the Award leader is slow or can’t find the email there is no way to resend it.

Pretty good app except for two things
The Orb app is excellent for checking my progress but there’s issue that makes it pretty difficult to log my hours that I really want fixed. I can’t press enter in order to have different categories in what I do and to have sub sections. Because of this I have to write one muddled paragraph or log my hours in with my laptop which is a huge hassle especially with pictures involved. Can u please make it so I can press return (enter) to make subsections in the description box and make the box a lot bigger. Other than that the app it very good :)
Spelling errors
The app in itself is easy to navigate. However, the whole thing is riddled with spelling errors! Specifically, most appeared before I had been assigned an award leader. Hopefully this can be fixed in the future.
the activities
If you have added an additional activity to one of the components like ‘physical recreation’ it can’t be deleted, even if no logs were added. i didn’t have to use my additional activity for any extra hours, but it still needs to be assessed and approved.
Amazing and helpful app
I’m at student at Sydney technical high school and this app has helped me finish my duke of Ed award. It is very helpful and I would recommend it to anyone trying to complete their award.
Very buggy
My award leader sent me back my Practice Journey to edit it, and now every time I go to send it for approval, the app crashes. Also, I can’t even edit all the things in the overview, for example, I wanted to go change some dates, but all I could edit was the title, so I had to use a computer to do it.

When you add time of service or certain category in, it only adds 1 hour to your time even if you did less or more than 1 hour
Easy to use but one major problem
My rating is on behalf of my classmates who are also participating in the Duke of Edinburgh. The problem for me is that the app doesn’t work at all, the error seems to be unique as I haven’t heard or read of anyone else with this problem. The problem is that I get network error every single time I log in. This is on both WiFi and Mobile data (and I have double checked my settings for which apps can use mobile data). I’m running the developer beta for iOS and was initially on iOS 12 when I first installed the app, after multiple reinstalls and updating to iOS 12.1 it still doesn’t work. My device is an 8 plus. If you could take a look, that would be perfect. Anyway, thank you very much!

When you type a long explanation of something it delete when you hit done.
Great app, although could use a few minor fixes
Really easy to use and great aesthetic, the logging and editing assessor details are simple and easy to understand. It would be really nice to edit names of activities if they’ve been misspelt and when choosing the duration of activities when logging to have 5min intervals instead of 15min intervals to make logging more accurate.
Poor UI, bad design
This app has a poor user interface and is slow. Notifications won’t go away even after viewing. App was clearly made with little to no attention to detail and was rushed

Really helpful, I found that it was very reliable and helped me to remember when I completed activities and needed to add them in, and I liked that I could track what I did. Very helpful and would recommend to anyone working towards their duke of Ed.
Network Error
I don’t understand why the app keeps saying network error. I can totally relate with the others who are experiencing this problem. I guess I will just have to use the online website and keep a tab open on safari for this. I was really hoping it would work. For some reason, when I update my profile pic on the website, it also updated it on the app but nothing else appeared. I hope it will work soon. Fingers crossed🤞

You can undo an assessment when it has been sent, if you want to add something or change your assessor. It would be good if it counted down the % of the award still left to do. Also the notifications stay on the App logo even when you’ve looked at them. I’ve still got a notification when I’ve seen everything 3 weeks later.

okay so it works well worked really well it makes logging DoE hours so easy but a couple weeks ago it logged me out and when i tried to log in again it wouldn’t let me i have tried everyday since and it won’t let me and i know my password is correct because i can still log in on my computer.

Easy to use, kinda broken
Quick and easy to upload logs. Logging in is a bit of a challenge and when trying to edit/upload things often get a generic error message (eg. Editing assessor details). Overall good for general use but can’t use it to do more than logging

Unique error for just me
I have previously used this app on my old phone and it’s worked very well. A lot of my friends doing the award also currently use and love the app. Although, I recently got a new phone (iPhone 8) and the app says error and will not load anything. It allows me to log in, but it doesn’t show after logging in. I have tried deleting and re downloading, logging in and out, and i’ve contacted ORB support and it still won’t allow me to see any of my logs or allow me to log anything. I have emailed DoE but I haven’t received any help yet. If you could fix this, it would be amazing. Thank you!
