Was my favorite game, now unrecognizable. Ruined by ‘progress’
Added 1/25/26. Why are ‘updated’ now required? My current device is now 5 years old so I’m no longer updating that and developers haven’t updated a damn thing in this game since I bought this device. So why require us to do it? No one responds to my requests for help or my suggestions to make play better and maybe get players to buy stuff using what they’ve already developed but no one who owns game now listens. Only thing they’d still do is take my money. Sad. When I started playing in 2017 I enjoyed this game more than any other I’d played. In the last several years ‘updates’ have managed to destroy what was a wonderful game. Like too many other game apps, once ratings, reviews and players are high enough the developers make the game unrecognizable to its original players. Characters were adorable, now they look like cheap plastic toys. Storyline has become ridiculous. And today the gems awarded for completing a level is now 33% less, I’ve watched Wooga reduce the boosts earned when going up a Village rank from three to one. The gems and coins that the Islands’ repaired icons provided daily are reduced by almost 70%. They’ve reduced the gems awarded for completing a challenge by 50% plus it takes far more challenges to repair something on an island. Yet it still costs 70 gems for up to five more moves. It seems to me Wooga wants long time players to leave. We’ve written glowing reviews and attracted lots of new players most of whom won’t care what was, because they will never have known it. This is, after all, a business. And the goal of any business is to make money, nothing wrong with that. What I don’t think is right is that the ratings and reviews you’re probably reading to decide it you’ll download this game, isn’t for the game you’d be downloading. Sadly, that game no longer exists and I’ll miss it terribly.
Force closing
I love this game!! Haven’t been able to play it in weeks because it keeps force closing!!!!
Very fun but very expensive
I enjoy playing but I can’t afford to keep playing. I think they should make it easier to keep playing. I don’t mind paying but not when it’s that expensive.
Be Prepared
The game itself is a lot of fun and certainly has its challenges. But there’s a problem that I can’t figure out the cause. The game locks up for no reason and the only solution is to close and reopen the game. This means you lose a life, any special upgrades you selected. It’s extremely frustrating when you only have 5 lives and you can’t predict when the freezing will occur. So just be prepared for the inevitable frustration that comes with playing this game.

Longest game I’ve ever played
Been playing this for years. I’ve beat all the levels. Thank you for allowing me to keep replaying levels even if the story is complete. I’m on day 2011 in a row. But been playing far longer than that.

Great Story and fun characters
I really enjoyed this game for quite a while until the Match 3 levels became next to impossible. If we can't finish those, we can't progress the story. I eventually just quit playing. With other match 3 powered games, when we sit at one level long enough, they eventually give us a board setup that makes it possible to get thru it, or they give us a bunch of extra turns at the next update. This one opted not to give us a way through and just lets us sit indefinitely. One only needs so many match 3 games in their life, and there are way too many games around now that used to be worth playing but devolved to be mostly just another cheap to run Match 3 trying to get us to spend real money. I decided to limit my real money to only my favorite game and it wasn't this one. I did really enjoy it for a while, though.

This is my go to game because it’s fun, but also a challenge. I’ve won the game three times. But I delete and reinstall it because I really enjoy the ingenuity of the game. Great work on the programming you have done!

After your update game will not open - which means I will lose me daily run of over 1500 (can’t remember exact days) which I think is an achievement

I’ve been playing this game for a very long time. But there are periods when I just quit playing for several months because it’s very frustrating. You know these games just aren’t fun anymore when you can’t get past certain level levels. I’ve been at level 1618 for about a year now and can’t get past it. Every now and again I will try and get frustrated and then leave it alone for another six or so months. I’m not going to spend money on the game so I guess I’m gonna stay stuck. Just so you developers know, we lose interest in these types of games when we can’t pass a level. Especially after about a year! It’s ridiculous. Do something about it so the game is fun again. Please.
Exceptional!
I’ve been happy with this game for over ten years. It is consistently fun. The characters are precious, the game levels are doable AND challenging. Very creative and lots of sweet humor from these cats! Highly recommend!

I absolutely loved this game & have played for years..... I’m now on Chapter 28… and after recent update most of the decorations/buildings are not available until Chapter 64… I have 170k coins and nearly 6k diamonds and absolutely NOTHING to spend them on. No longer worth playing. 😡😡😡 Previous 5 Star Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’m a bit of a match 3 freak - and Tropicats without question is one of the best. No “stressed-timed levels”, no mad 3-star chasing, and no seemingly pointless reasons to ‘spend’ coins/jewels.... Instead we have a range of relaxed games, each with 3 levels offering rising difficulty to complete, and all doable with patience. There are loads of “freebies”, opportunity to join in challenges (& earn more freebies) and gorgeous animation too. Add in a pleasant storyline and chances to decorate the Tropicats Island (if you choose to), and this is a beautiful game to play. I like games that feel ‘fair’ to play - not continuously pushing for ‘real’ money.... and for this, Tropicats is the best on the App store (in my opinion).... Additionally, when I had an issue, the team at Wooga dealt with it swiftly and appropriately - what more could you ask for.... Thank you & keep up the great work 🙂
Love this…BUT…
This is a really great game (and I particularly appreciate that there are LGBT characters). HOWEVER ever since the last update the app has been quitting spontaneously. Just shuts down in the middle of a round. This is frustrating. PLEASE FIX!!

Adorable but too hard to be fun
The graphics and characters are super cute, but the greed makes this game too dang hard. There are very few opportunities to earn power ups, which aren’t even intuitive enough to help you win. And, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but if you lose a board by one move you don’t even get to watch an ad for extra moves. The levels are too hard to win without spending money and gives me more stress than relaxation.

Disappointed
I love this game can play it for days. But… after new updates it was asked to put your age which in my opinion wasn’t necessary . By mistake I put a wrong number and now my account is blocked. It’s just a game

I loved this game but had to start again due to not being able to continue with the higher levels, which were impossible to pass. Greedy developers. Why can’t you make it pleasurable and playable. What’s the point in having a game that you can’t complete. This latest update is worse so another one bites the dust. Oh and don’t waist your time complaining they are not interested.

Like the game just wondering why it takes so long to get the car do you need to complete else’s house this is very frustrating as you may go through the cards at least 10 times and you still don’t have the last couple ones you need for the house it’s needs to be fixed

I’ve decided I wasn’t going to waste time and money to play difficult and impossible to beat levels and it’s stupid to play the same level three times, I’m just sick of it. And level 1618 is the worst impossible level you idiots at Wooga have ever made. This app deserves to rot

Storyline going downhill
Been playing this from day one. Story was great enjoyed it. Now it is like they are scrambling for a story for filler. Story is terrible. We have gay cats now it is dogs who think they are cats or are not sure. Really this is all you can an come up with. Have to wait 5 to 6 days to play new stuff.
Level 1755 Issues
There have been No Bananas to Complete the Color Wheel for a Clearing of the Board on level 1755. Color Wheels are just in the way on this level. I cannot Qualify for a Chance at a Trophy because it’s a Banana Challenge. Why play if you cannot clear the board without $ or Hammers. I guess I will stop playing for now.
Best Match 3 EVER!
I play a lot of match 3 games but this one is by far the best one I’ve played. It’s challenging and keeps you coming back for more. The pieces are cute and the little cats are adorable!

Not purr-fect but fun
Cute, fun. Although not as much fun when it has some levels that seem almost impossible to win and, more importantly will crash in some instances and lost about 1,000 diamonds when it crashed once . . . Boo!

This game is much better than the competition. You may get stuck on level, but you won’t stay there for to long like the other competitors stick it to you. NO ADDS is an extreme plus.

I would give it 5 stars but every time i play the game and spin the bonus wheel i have to allow 3 settings for adverts but every time i do that it supposidly saves but every ten minutes the bonus is ready and i have to agree to the same things every time. Please can you sort this out because we shouldnt have to agree to the same thing every 10 minutes
My only review
Ok I have been playing this game for along time. I’m way up on the levels I have built 3 islands working on the 4 th one but my only complaint is that I have been getting to many duplicate cards to finish the rooms. I only have one room left and can never get the card I need. That’s annoying!!!!!! So if that card is in the stack somewhere I can’t get it. 😞 other than that is a good game. Passes the time and has a story line.
Frustrating
I was really enjoying this game so I bought the starter pack. Since then it has become much harder, I am having to play for days just to finish one game. Having a cartoon cat tell me that losing is character building is very annoying.
