Used to be great
I paid for the premium version of this app and it has completely stopped working for me. None of my music files will play. I emailed the support contact and have heard nothing back. Super disappointing.
Great app with one annoying visual flaw
I've really enjoyed using Musicbox so far. However, there's no way to adjust the font size, and that's a real usability issue. Many album and song titles are cut off mid-word or shown as ellipses, which makes it frustrating to navigate or even recognize what's playing, especially with longer filenames or detailed metadata. A simple option to scale the font size down (or allow smaller text for title views) would go a long way in making the app cleaner and more readable for users. Looking forward to future updates. Great potential here.

I’d like to like it more.
With sorting non-functional and no way to tag and filter its usefulness for me is limited. It was easier than writing my own, but that’s temporary, because I need stronger functionality 🤷♂️
It just works!
I simply 1) put my music files in a folder Dropbox, then 2) browse to that folder in Musicbox, and 3) press “download”, and 4) all that music appears in Musicbox on my device! Then I play that music on my device. It sounds simple and it is, but so many other players fail to do these seemingly-simple things.
Not worth it. Refund please.
In theory this can work great, however it’s impossible to get music into it and the workflow is just poor. Test your app before releasing.

Audiobookのm4bファイルに必須なBook Markが使えるのでありがたいが、Book mark名には自動で書籍名を入力して欲しい。一々手入力するのは面倒。 また、Audiobookを再生する場合には、専用のインターフェースを用意してほしい。例えばランダム再生のボタンがあるが、音楽再生には必要なボタンでもオーディオブック再生の場合には不要な機能です。間違ってタップするとダウンロードが始まるので迷惑です。 オーディオブック再生について、どのようなインターフェースが適切であるか真摯に検討していただきたい。 課金してでも使いたくなるアプリにぜひ進化していただきたいと思います。
Crashes alot
When it works it’s good but crashes alot.
Good but with caveats
I like how it looks, controls and streams music from my Dropbox, setup is easy too. Major issue is while it can stream and play flac files, they don’t get added to the music library for some reason, seems like a bug or oversight but is quite annoying.

Paid for premium. Says I can add any cloud service but still only lets me use Dropbox.
Helps with Music Production
As a music producer needing to listen to my countless bounced sessions, this is a perfect application. For a while there were some bugs but the new update has solved them - I think 👀. The interface is sufficient and simple enough to be a pleasure to use. The features are also very useful like EQ and playlist capabilities. I rely on this app for my workflow - I was heartbroken when the glitches prevented my use. But now so far so good.
never written a review but this needs to be addressed
it was my most used app before i updated my ipad... and then it crapped out on me, which means now I'm floundering to find a proper substitute. the fact that it hardly lets you pick one file before it crashes is atrocious. my life revolves around the music i play, especially while i sleep at night. life is too short to be frustrated like this. please fix Musicbox. thank you.
Good app overall
Overall a good app but not with iOS 16. It keeps crashing when clicking on a new song. I’ve reloaded, etc but keeps happening.
Amazing
I was hoping Dropbox would come up with something like this for years but just found it and I'm so happy to be able to stream my music finally anywhere without selecting one track after the other! Thank you 🥳
Impressively bad
This app is impressive, in that it’s impressive that they managed to develop an app that’s more useless than just playing songs/files one at a time in the Dropbox app itself. An ad plays every time the app starts up, and crashes 9 out of 10 times after playing the first song in a playlist, forcing the user to re-open the app and watch another ad. Literally more effort than just playing songs one at a time in Dropbox. Impressive
One way to fix sudden crash
I notice that the music suddenly crash at the end of the one song. The way I fix it is to go to setting-audio player-crossfade playback-disable it. I found it fix the problem most of time but crash occasionally. At least I can play continuously when I drive using CarPlay
Crashing in iOS16
Shame..this is a great app and it seems like the crashing issue hasn’t been fixed. Not so great if it crashes when it goes to the next song (streaming from DropBox
App is only as good as the support it provides
I love this app. It’s a gem…. When it works. It’s constantly quitting. And I cannot seem to get the developer Igor M to respond no matter how many times I’ve written to him. Such a shame. This little app has so much potential. As much as I WANT to recommend it, I just can’t. Sad.
Big improvements
There was time when this app wasn’t working quite right a few years ago, somehow playback was just borked, I tried to get a kite to the developer, but apple was stupid about it and thought I hadn’t bought the app — then, lo and behold, the developer updated it and made it performant and so feature rich— it’s my favorite jukebox app ever. My hat is off.

Good App in desperate need of an update
For what it’s intended to accomplish it gets the job done, only reason I can’t comfortably give it 4 or 5 stars is because the app crashes way too much to truly enjoy. After playing a song or 2, it crashes and has to be reopened. The app needs an update to fix that crash bug and it’ll be way better.
Best music player on iOS
Finally found a music player comparable to PowerAmp on Android. Clean and simple to use UI. Premium version is well worth the money for ad free experience.

Crashing everytime I play a song
This use to be my go to app for all music but I stopped ever since the app keeps crashing everytime I play a song. It started getting repetitive because it wouldn't ever be able to finish a song, not sure why I hope you guys fix this

You can play one song from Dropbox. If you try to go further than that the app crashes.

The best music player for Dropbox!
Amazing player! With the recent update works flawlessly again. Treats a Dropbox folder just like a track list, you can seek, works perfectly with my car’s Bluetooth, repeat, & shuffle also work perfectly. Use it as a constant part of my music production workflow.
Difficult to navigate
In a word, cr*p. I am fairly tech savvy but this has to be the most un user friendly app I have come across. I have given up with it and have resorted to playing music directly from my Dropbox Cloud. Thank goodness it was only £4.49 for the Pro Version. Not a lot of money but now I know why.
Good app needs an update
Some bugs in current version - metadata sync grinds up. Would very much like option to edit metadata for songs so I can group them by album/artist myself. Primarily want to use this as a replacement for Apple’s terrible music player.
Only plays one song on iOS 16
Used to work great but now with iOS 16 it plays one song and then crashes, not every time but almost every time. Quite annoying.
App needs updated.
Since switching to ios16, app has been randomly crashing almost nonstop. In the middle of songs, when songs switch, when pressing pause or play. Love the app but the crashing needs to be addressed.

Constantly crashing on latest iOS versions
Worked well until, apparently, some iOS update and now it crashes constantly making it unusable. It seems the comment in the description about consistent developer updates is no longer accurate. Have not seen an update for a couple of years. There are some other reviews complaining about this issue so it is likely more than a local problem.
Album not showing?
Overall solid app. I have a pretty extensive library…noticed in a couple artist folders the songs show but won’t roll up to ‘album’ when album is selected. Not sure if this is a glitch in the app or a metadata issue. Seems like a glitch.
Needs updating for IOS 16
Crashes almost every time since IOS 16 was released.
Room for improvement
Generally ok. Can't seem to 'favourite' or bookmark Dropbox folders, which is a big shame. I'm a professional music producer and all client work is in Dropbox. So I need to be able to play through folders like they're albums. My workaround is to add the folder to a playlist but that causes issues too - the app crashes when skipping tracks in a 'Dropbox' playlist. Often the DB folders are updated regularly so means always making a new playlist.

I previously gave this app a 1 star review because an iOS update caused it to get very buggy for ages. Well as of now it’s all fixed and it’s great again! Thank you!
Won’t work with IOS 16 update
I literally love this app but it will close randomly with the new IOS update
MusicBox and Last.fm
Great player because it streams from the cloud instead of having to download or sync to the iPhone saving up loads of storage space. I own loads of digital music so it’s brilliant for me. Would be great if I could scrobble to Last.fm. Is that feasible at all? Keep up the good work

TL:DR; first time worked perfectly, then i paid for PRO, then it basically stopped doing all the things i needed (and had paid for). downloading the songs doesn’t work, cannot play the undownloaded songs over LTE, so basically if you’re connected to wifi 24/7 then i guess okay, but if you want to listen in the car or if your wifi is unreliable, find a different app. (also extremely shady that it worked no problem first time and then completely crapped out.) i downloaded some songs, was able to get them from dropbox to this app and also download them (my ultimate goal, meaning i could play them even in an area offline.) so a day or two later, i downloaded some more songs. this time, NO MATTER WHAT i did, which internet i connected to (and i have VERY high speed internet so speed is not the issue), i COULD NOT DOWNLOAD THEM. i mean i got them from dropbox to the app, but could not download them, thus defeating the purpose since i wanted to access them offline. (keep in mind that YES i did pay the $4.99 for PRO so it wasn’t that i had reached the file limit or anything.) FURTHERMORE… (and this is HUGE because the above could have been forgiven) you cannot play the songs (the ones that have not been downloaded) over LTE. so i can’t play any of my songs with this app in my car. (except for the ones i was able to successfully download on the very first day.) this is incredibly frustrating and if i could get a refund i would. i won’t go through all that hassle for $5 (which is what this company is obviously hoping for). i just want to say shame on you. i know $5 doesn’t seem like a lot but it is to some people. i think it’s set up so it works flawlessly the first time, then people pay for PRO, and then it stops working. i have never said this unironically before, but DO BETTER.
Update required
I’ve had to rate 3 stars only because the app is not getting updated and now I’ve updated to IOS 16 it just quits after playing one track. I do like the app and use it every day, but it desperately requires an update to fix this issue. Unfortunately you can’t turn back the IOS version, so now it’s not working, please fix.

Was great, but now constantly crashing on iOS 16.
I don’t like rating low to get the developers attention, but the provided email for support always comes back undeliverable. I use this app to check music mixes and loved it. But after iOS 16, it constantly closes suddenly when selecting songs. It plays the first song fine generally. But when selecting a second or third song the app will suddenly close. I hope the developer is able to fix. I’ll come back and rate higher. Also, please fix your support email. Thanks.
At last
At last a pretty competent player which will allow streaming of files to Chromecast Audio. So far it has performed very well and has facilities for download of files from Dropbox, creation of playlists etc...But equaliser didn't seem to make much difference, I have to say. Put the app on iPad, fine...put it on my iPhone 6 Plus and every 30 seconds the volume sets itself to zero. Is this a bug?? Otherwise, pleased that someone has created a good app to allow me to play my saved music and to use my Chromecast.
Ok, but…
No way to bulk delete music from the music folder, which means I have to manually remove 1500 tracks. I can’t believe the developer overlooked this
