What people like
- Simple and works every time
- Great for testing your hearing
- Can go louder than other apps
What they complain about
- Ads block the sound button
- Sound stops when you switch apps
- Hard to set exact frequencies
Good sine wave tool
Good simple tone oscillator, can double as a tuning source for musical instruments. A4 = 440. Presets can be created for stringed instruments.
Buggy
No play pause button???
Slide Control Only
Being able to choose frequencies with a keyboard would be much more user-friendly than a slider. In cases where small adjustments in frequency are required, and the exact frequency is not known beforehand, '+' and '-' buttons would come in handy. Update: The developer instructed me to upgrade the app, which happened automatically when I opened it. When the app is opened, a frequency is displayed on what is actually a field for entering a frequency number, but which looks like a button-shaped display. Not the most intuitive choice. I would have gone with something that spelled that out, say, "Enter frequency.".
limited listening ability
I love this app for the ability to choose the exact Hz frequency you want. I hate, & will be deleting the app after this, bc I want the frequency to remain playing in the background when I’m using other apps, such as watching a YouTube video. I want the frequency playing quietly in the background of whatever other audio I’m listening to.
Need change bad
It would be great if you can do up to 10 tones playing all at the same time but it’s only subpar
best one i could find!
best one i could find, simple and does exactly what it needs to and has the ability to go much louder than the others. but can you make it go below 20 hz? like down to 5 or something?
Ruined
The last update ruined the ability to control the volume of the tone.
Below 20 Hz.
I remember being a board 15-year-old and wondering how many Hz I could hear below 20 with earbuds on but didn’t find an app that went down to one. I know most humans can’t hear below 20 Hz.
too many ads
it interferes with using the app
Amplitude not shown
I have tinnitus and using this app I could match the two frequencies but there’s no scale showing the amplitude in dB’s.
Let’s gooo
The app design is great. The program is great.
Awesome…
You totally ruined what you introduced to us. Hurrrrdurrrrr cool app yo Um no.
Works on M2 mac
works good on M2 mac, I know this is basic but giving it 4 stars because I think there are some good features that are missing like sweeping
Bad frequency scrubber
VERY difficult to dial-in a frequency - only jump-jump FFW/FRW style scrubbing - no slow-scrub available and no number input. Too difficult to get an exact frequency. And the +/- would be nice if could scrub to a +/-10, 100 etc. would even be nice if scrubber bar had stop points at every 1000.
Needs precision tuning
This would be so much improved by a more sensitive slider or ability to type in a frequency. Too sloppy to give the precision required to cancel noise from tinnitus.
Hawaiian approved 🤙🏽🙏🏽🏄🏽♂️🏝️
Thank you guys you guys are soo awesome God Bless ✝️🙏🏽🤙🏽🏄🏽♂️🏝️♈️
Ad bar blocks control
No audio output after ad block arrived
Useful, simple app.
Works nicely on my old iPhone as input to the oscilloscope app in the iPad. It makes teaching this section of the Cambridge CIE AS Physics course easy, even online.
Does not work in the background...
The app is great and easy to use. However the app needs to be in the foreground for it to generate sounds. So you cannot start the sound and then (for example) switch to a reading app to do some relaxed reading...
I could do without the ads

No Sound
?? I get no sound generation on my iPad. What am I missing here?
Good, but room for improvement
A good improvement would be: - For left and right separate tone generation and volume. - Possibility to generate many tone frequencies at the same time (with optional for each tone left right separate or coupled/ in sync). - creating presets of each tone pallet. Please respond to this feedback.
Bien !
Bien ! Serait-il possible d’avoir une version sans publicité ? (Payante...) Merci
Simple and Effective
To experience and evaluate my hearing this app is helpful. I have professional audiograms made by audiologist. Looking at the audiogram alone does not provide a physical sense of what my hearing loss sounds like across frequencies. Using the app I can hear what my ears are capable of across frequencies.
Tone shuts off when changing hz
A simple sliding frequency is what most people want. If you are looking for that, this does not do this.

Improvement opportunity. Audio symmetry test
Using this application it would be possible to do a very useful audio test, with some upgrade. 1 possibility to select right and left channel independently, 2 volume indicator in dB compare to a calibration % Exemple Using a calibration 10% indicate dB delta when using 5% 3 with a tap to record parameters: side channel,Frequency hz, Volume dB 4 develop a graph result for each channel. Best regards Gilles

Perfect tool I love it!
Do not use
Used during an A/V installation and it blew one the speakers in my iPhone.
easy to use
Works great! 5 stars if you could adjust the steps the app increments/decremts the frequency.
Perfect tool for no charge
It works every time, no complaints.
Took my money and doesn’t do anything
Took my money
Thanks 🙏
I am a little different but it’s just not going to happen for me and I wanna hope l can????????????????🌈🌹PnW💋™️🎸🎹

These puretones are very meditative and very rad to use. Thank you
No sound
It was fine when I downloaded it, but now there’s no sound and when I try and up the volume on my iPhone 14 Pro Max, it just goes to alarm, setting up volume doesn’t even show up? so basically it’s worthless without sound.
The ads are a pain!
Good easy to use app but where is the option to get rid of the ads? I’m never going to buy something from someone that gets in my face like that.
Fantastic
Soothing
No longer useable
Ad blocks button to initiate tone
Facile d'utilisation
Publicité peu intrusive. Fonctionne bien.
