Would love to use
I would love to use this app. But I’m on a fixed income, which means that I can’t afford any subscriptions. I’m Blind and Disabled as well. All the money I get goes to rent, bills, and food. This means that subscriptions are completely out of the question. It would be nice if you guys could figure out a way to make the app free for those of us on a fixed income. I’m trying to get back into yoga after a long absence. Please consider finding a way to make the app free for people on fixed incomes. It would help a lot.
Doesn’t support screen rotation on an ipad
This app is developed for vertical orientation and a cellphone. Given it’s subject matter, I more often like to use my iPad for the larger screen. If you’re iPad is in a support case, you’ll notice it won’t rotate for horizontal viewing. An update to allow this would be a great improvement to this app.
app - 2⭐️ at most, content - 5⭐️
As a yoga instructor and yoga student I enjoy the content of YI for several years now. I found teachers, courses and other content I enjoy, use in my classes and personal practice. Sadly the usability of the app is left much to be desired. I view it on my iPad most of the time. The size of videos doesn’t fit to the screen when I open them (I have to switch to another app, then back, and by chance the app would show video full screen). I can’t open videos from my saved list and have to type in the name of the class in a search to get an access to smth I already saved. The web version and mobile app version do not really sync (I had issues while viewing my purchased courses). Sometimes a teacher’s intro video plays over a class video (!!), because it just has an autoplay… There are many more annoying issues. They need a good QA team on board to check on all that bugs, both mobile app and web. I don’t want to level up on my subscription because all these bugs.
How about prop free yoga in light of covid?
Kind of disappointing to go on your app and see all these newly uploaded classes that are really prop heavy .. in light of covid I’m teaching outdoors or in a studio without any props .. please bring in some material on this please. Thanks!!
Like the Content but App Disappointing
I enjoy the content but won’t renew due to glitchy app that makes it difficult to enjoy my practice when using.
Great content but I can’t use it on my phone :(
Yoga classes I cast to Apple TV and that’s great but for meditation where I want to lie down with my phone and headphones, after about a minute, the audio closes. It seems the app audio cannot continue unless the device is in active use. Am I missing something? Can someone please help? In all my membership I’ve never been able to use the meditation content! I can’t find anything that can help me on your website. Thanks.
Website is GREAT, the app is TERRIBLE
I’ve been a web subscriber for years, and the content on YI is no nonsense, solid information. I recently downloaded the app to have mobile access to a course, but the screen goes blank almost every time I try to progress. I can’t even go back to the Home Screen on the app. It’s not until I come back a day or two later that I can access the app at all. Stay a subscriber to their content, but don’t bother with the app.
App and Website Issues Detract From Great Videos
The videos and teachers are amazing, but the UX design in the app and website both are designed for someone who wants to find a random yoga class, similar to searching for a single class in YouTube. Where the app and website fail is that we (users) cannot easily organize or save ‘members only’ courses, classes, find followed teachers. I will keep using the app and update as I experiment with it.

App is terrible
Grey-out band over videos in landscape mode? No-click no-link classes and courses? After an hour of “playing around” with the app (that’s too much time -it’s 2024 not 2006) I’m deleting app and cancelling membership.
Hacks to get you through. And, it’s worth it
I have been using this app for years both on my iPod and my computer. It is true that favorites don’t transfer between devices. However if you save favorites on each device they will remain saved. Sometimes the favorites screen freezes, but if you tap on a class and go back to the screen it will scroll again. Sometimes the whole app just won’t load, like today, and when that happens I delete the app and reload it. So remember the email and password you used when you signed up. It actually doesn’t take that long. There’s so much amazing content in this app that all of this is worth it. There are many knowledgeable teachers there are good courses and there are classes of all lengths of time and a wide range of abilities. What I love most about this app and this site is that it is so completely inclusive and has classes for anyone of any age any size and any ability. Other yoga sites and yoga apps portray the yogi In an unrealistic manner and reinforce negative and damaging content and images. It is also important to note that this site/app is not just about Asana. Which if you know anything about yoga, asana is only one limb of eight. There is meditation, pranayama and philosophy offered throughout the site and many of the teachers obviously have a rich background in the other 7 limbs of ashtanga yoga as taught by patanjali thousands of years ago.

Crashes frequently. Some stuff (courses) I can’t even view as it crashes every time I try and open.
Wishing for offline streaming
I LOVE THE CONTENT!!! But I wish the app was more user friendly, especially in its ability to watch offline, and easier save videos to favorite AFTER watched (I always have to go searching for the video I just did to save it when I loved it)

App is just too glitchy
I do like the content, but this is a review in the App Store and the developers really need to respond to problems with the app. I want to use the app on my TV because it’s easier to see, but the current version won’t let me complete log in. Previously, the app just wouldn’t open on the TV. On my iPad and phone, it works pretty consistently but is hard to see, and I can’t project it to my TV. The saving features also don’t really make sense.
Yoga
I am a new member, and I’m impressed by the huge number of couses and classes. Since I’m quite advanced in yoga, I was disappointed by several other apps that were for beginners only. Yoga International offers challenging and different poses, that makes it much more interesting and exciting!!!
Disappointing app quality
Such a cumbersome, slow, subpar app. Also the video stream stops and breaks too often. I can tell this app was a very cheap investment.
Technical Glitches
I’ve enjoyed the content over the last several months to get my daily exercise in. However, for a while now you cannot pause or skip or rewind in the video at any point without having to start it over. It just freezes indefinitely. This has killed my morning yoga buzz multiple times now. Received a call mid-workout and just denying the call crashed the video. Unable to reboot and skip to where I was. This app needs some extra tech support love.
Loving it so far
It’s only my second day using the app. However the practices are challenging, The teachers are engaging.

I payed for a yearly subscription and have yet to have the access I have been in communication with incompetent Cheryl who is just stealing company time!!! IM STILL WAITING!!!

So far this app has been exactly what I was looking for in terms of interesting, educational, mindful yoga content which continues to broaden my knowledge and excite my passion for yoga. Highly recommend!
Great content, serious interfacing issues
I’ve had this app for a few months and the idea behind it is great. They have great classes from a variety of teachers. However, the app needs a serious overhaul. Everything about it is not user friendly. Trying to saving classes for future use is a nightmare. They all go to one place and you can’t categorize them. You can only put them in a certain order in one giant list so I’ve created “playlists” in a way but this is the biggest nightmare of them all. It took me about 45 minutes to organize maybe 50 classes so that my yin classes aren’t all intertwined with my strong flow classes. Every time you move a class anywhere in the list, it takes you all the way to the top of list. Then you have to scroll back down to continue organizing. The other frustrating part is the fact that if the class has a long name (like longer than 5 words) there is no way of knowing what it’s called. From the list you can read about 4 words and even after clicking on the class, you can read about 5 and then... this is a huge problem when trying to decide what class to begin. Especially considering every time you click on a class it resets the suggestions and takes you to the top again so you have to commit to a class based on a thumbnail and half the title. It’s really not what I want to deal with when trying to be in a state of peace so I find myself opting not to use the app at all sometimes if I’m anxious or have low patience.. which are exactly the times I’d like to have someone else guide me through a practice... in this day and age and for $20 a month with I’m sure hundreds of thousands of subscribers, you could really stand to pay someone to fix these fundamental problems. The last time I used something so bug ridden was using a motorola droid with nearly the first edition of android operating system running it. I expect more for the price I pay. If the problem is not resolved soon, I’ll look for another service provider or just go back to YouTube where things are simple and free to boot
Crashes if you pause
Navigating through favourites is not a friendly experience. Since a recent release it doesn’t show the duration of the class. And there is no way to organise them in groups. If I need to pause the class, it won’t restart playing. I have to close and start again and fast forward to where I was. This causes that my class doesn’t count towards my weekly goal. Closing the video after finishing can be tricky. Like the sensitivity of the touch screen is not properly adjusted. The variety of classes is OK. Not many options for ashtanga yoga, though

Terrible customer service you can’t get in touch with anyone
I purchased the yearly membership last year so I could do prenatal yoga classes. I didn’t even use this app much since there are not many prenatal videos and I ended up finding better classes for free in YouTube. I canceled my subscription from my App Store months ago and I even deleted this app. Yesterday I was charged $204 for another year when I did not receive any notice just the notification from my credit card. I’m trying to get in touch with someone and all they have is an email. ?????? Makes no sense, they make it impossible to get rid of this membership.
Beginner’s review
I found the articles interesting, and the links were easy to follow. This is ideal for novices like myself.
Don't buy
It's normal to see Yoga mistaken for being a workout, when it's actually an integral part of the Yogic(Hindu) path to enlightenment. What's not normal is individual instructors telling you to do whatever silly thing they thought of in the shower yesterday. I broke my arm on the first lesson.
Classes and instructors are great, software needs some work
App is clunky and non responsive. Play/pause is unresponsive and inconsistent when casting. Courses don’t save your progress as you work through them. App often closes itself if you switch to a different task (like a text message). I’ll keep using it for the quality of the teachers and their classes. But the app itself is pretty frustrating to use as of now.

Yoga international is great in lots of ways, as it has so much to offer. I love it !
Needs a major update
Yoga International was once a great resource, initiated by the Himalayan Institute to teach very sound and beneficial yoga asana, meditation, and pranayama courses online via some very good teachers. Sadly, YI was sold in late 2021 to another company who promptly removed some very good content and over time, new content from the very good teachers gave way to quite substandard content mostly by teachers brought over by the acquiring firm. Nothing against the new teachers personally, it’s just that the new content was quite insufficient vs. what had previously been offered under original ownership. In late 2023, we cancelled our membership, the end of quite a few good years of practice.

Great content of classes and articles but the app itself sometimes it's not so easy to find things what you have done or read it.

I only signed up for the free trial and didn’t have the same problem with membership fees as others seem to have had! i actually really like this app/company BUT i wish they had a better way of organizing favorite classes. only one folder to keep stuff in so if you’ve saved a bunch of classes, they're all lumped in the same group and you have to scroll through to find what you want. and saving programs or courses isn’t even an option... why?? literally the only reason I got rid of this was because i’m trying to stay dedicated and keep yoga consistent and the lack of organization is irritating. also, i’m hoping it was just a random glitch, but there were a few times i did courses and it didn’t register that i had watched anything. so anytime i went back to continue the course, i have to sift through all the lessons to figure out where i left off.
Love the variety and quality of the classes
I haven’t experienced any of the technical issues some other reviewers have reported. Perhaps some technical work has been done to improve the app! I think the standard of teaching is very high and being able to do these classes on the go wherever I am has transformed my practice into a daily one.
Automatically takes money
They automatically will charge you card for over $200 and not inform you until AFTER it is done. They don’t reach out to let you know membership is expiring and ask if you want to keep. Then there is basically no way to contact them. There is a text/chat box but it is automated bot answer..then you wait for a team member to get back to you “as soon as they can”.
Great content but needs a bit better organisation
Why when you have sent me an email for a class or a challenge and I click on the link does it not open on that class in the app? It can take a lot of fiddling about to find it again in the app. Some great classes tho.a month on still same issues.
Buggy app
Every time I push pause it won’t play again. Also, the suggested videos are rarely what I have asked for in my settings. It suggests all levels of videos when I should really only be doing 1 and 2. I also like to bookmark videos that I might want to try in the future but I wish the bookmarks page would give more information on the video than it does. The videos themselves are pretty good though.
Wish it played when phone locked or there was a sleep function
I love the platform, but not so much the app. Pretty much impossible to use the app for meditations, as it stops playing after a few minutes when my screen goes off. I shouldn’t have to keep my screen on “always on” for this. Most apps don’t require it. Makes doing the sleep meditation impossible on the app so I have to use the browser. What’s the point?

Great content but glitchy
I think this platform is true gem. But I find the app very glitchy. The comment section freezes easily. Some videos has no sound. Maybe spend resources fixing kinks instead of adding more features.
No Sound!
I am a big fan of yoga international and was delighted when they launched the app but more often than not the sound doesn’t work, this is with downloaded videos and streamed. Back to using my laptop & the website then.

I use the app on my iPhone and other times on my iPad and the information such as favourites and practices completed don’t sync. Maybe it’s a glitch in the system but for 15$ a month, I would expect more...
