Can’t go negative stars. Doesn’t keep your place
Horrible program and doesn’t work well with modern studying. Can’t copy or print or use ai for explaining topics. Bad doesn’t even do justice to explain this app.

Read aloud are ridiculous
These books are not cheap and they come with the most ludicrous read along voices I’ve ever heard. I can’t even listen to them on the ride to class or else I’ll get a migraine

I prefer to listen and read along when I study and the read aloud feature is honestly awful. The voices are distracting and they struggle to read certain medical terms. Please consider upgrading the voices or partnering with a company that has an advanced read aloud feature.

Usability difficult
Why if I accidentally touch one side of the screen, it sends me to a completely random page while on continuous scroll?? I also can’t highlight to look to define a word anymore, only highlight or add a note. I wish there was a feature where you could read without being able to click all the hyperlinks. I just want to stay on one page at a time while reading…
Highlighting feature isn’t enough
It would be so much easier if we could hand write notes and be able to zoom in on pages.
Great app. Super convenient
Only function I wish it had was a customizable sensitivity to side swiping. Often when scrolling down the page I accidentally side swipe which brings me to the next/previous chapter. This would be a good function to have if it was less sensitive, but as it is now it’s just annoying
Read aloud voices
The read aloud feature is ok, it will read the references in the paragraphs which is annoying. Also the voice choices are terrible.
Needs a refresh
A fresh coat of paint (2023-2024 IO refresh update) would make this app so much better!
Bugs
After the new update, the bugs are worse. I have to constantly shut the app down and sign out

HOW TO DOWNLOAD
I tried downloading directly from the app store and it won’t allow me either. I logged in to my account and click on the MyEvolve then go to the Vital Source Library and it will directly lead you to create an account for VitalSource and then you will be able to download the app and I was able to all the books purchased. Hope this helps.
Pictures won’t zoom in
The point of me downloading this app is to be able to access my ebooks more easily but without zooming into the pictures small details are not understandable

1990 Style
This is horrible compared to the (now defunct) Inkling. Embarrassing that they would put out such a product. Difficult to navigate, images do not appear in line with text, and menu system is amateurish
Text to speech needs improvement
The reading and highlighting functionality is good. However, the text to speech function is wasted because the voices are so robotic. Considering how natural modern AI text to speech voices sound, I expected this function to be better.
Bontrager’s Textbook of Radiographic Positioning
This book cannot be opened on an iPad. Only on a computer or laptop. Wish I knew that before buying. This book is really heavy and that’s why I purchased it digitally.
Page Flickering for Lippincott
My page keep flickering for my lippincott books only
No page turner??!!
So I though it was my setting or something I was doing to not be able to turn the pages - only lets you scroll up and down! Spent like 2 days trying to figure it out only to come to the comments section to find that everyone else is having the same issue! Please fix this! Never seen anything like it and have many different reading apps I have used and this one is the most bizarre! Again, please fix this. School is about to start soon and this would greatly improve user experience across the board.
Who thought of this this?
I absolutely hate 90% of the user feature of this. Why are we reading a scroll? Why can’t we turn the page? Scrolls went out for a reason! The reader never feels like they get to the end of the page. Some of our chapters are 60 pages long. It shouldn’t feel like a page of reading codes and never finding the problem. Also can we write on the page for the price we pay for our “books”? The in text notes are nice. Where’s the interactive feature? Can we please turn the page? Why all my books not in te same place?

Poor editing and writing of content review questions
The app is ok. But some of the editing and writing on content review questions could really be improved (at least in the pre-nursing and. nursing disciplines). A key problem is a lack of crowdsourcing for solutions. What I mean is there is also no easy way for a user or instructor to easily flag errors in content, or writing (especially in questions and rationales). It take multiple emails, go through multiple levels of customer service representatives, where they want screenshots of their incorrect data and screen shots or references the correct data. And then, after all of that, they will eventually send a note to the content team where it can be flagged so it might possibly be corrected for a later revision. They could simply have a button or an email to send content questions and concerns to and faculty and students would likely report errors. The could be quickly assessed to see if they are applicable and the information flagged for editions by a revision author. Considering the cost of Elsevier’s resources is roughly a thousand dollars a semester, these resources should be AMAZING, but honestly it feels like their approach to education is antiquated and clumsy. It feels like bloated bureaucracy. The customer service is pretty good but beyond the people who answer the phones and emails, I am completely underwhelmed.
Not user friendly or easy to use
The ebook is not user friendly or easy to use, you have to be computer or tech savvy to use this tool, I have to call service for every thing. 🙁
Constantly losing track of where you are in the text.
This app is not user friendly. It randomly quits and then will lose where you left off in the text. I use this app so that I don’t have to read my textbook and can listen to it when driving/ other tasks, but when it constantly loses its place I have to scroll until I find where I was in the reading. This causes immense frustration. I gave it a chance thinking that perhaps it was not going to be a routine issue but it’s now continuing to happen quite frequently and it has cased me enough frustration to leave a 1 star review. This app seriously lacks in comparison to Pearson +.

Don’t like the design change
I most definitely don’t like what y’all changed about the app. Before the update I was able to just swipe left or right to go the next chapter but know I have to scroll down and press the “jump to next”. That’s doing to much.
Forced to move from inkling to this app. What a shame
I have multiple books from Elsevier that I use regulatory on the Inking platform. It was excellent. Elsevier have now moved their eBooks to this platform, oh dear, what have you done. The formatting and presentation looks like a kid has cut and paste into a word document. It used to look the same as reading the book now it’s not. It’s hard to read as the font size is too small or large. I’m so disappointed. I would respectful ask vitalsource to reformat the app so it’s more like the Inkling one. They had it perfect.
