Great versatile Product
Go across all platform easily
This does not work
Well, I paid to unlock all features but my iPhone can’t connect to the VLC on my computer, it says the VMR is not found but I have checked VMR is running. Don’t buy!
Need option
Needs option to remove the bottom row for the non VLC controls
Messed up
i know there is a pro-tier, which i'd happily buy, but honestly, i don't get that far. i used this thing for ten minutes and have seen at least fiveteen ads. it's so bad, i can't really tell what is a feature and what a bug, everything gets constantly interrupted, either by error messages or ads – i have no idea how the user flow is supposed to work. also, there does not seem to be much documentation. this app seems to have great potential (control seems snappy and flawless), but just messes up the little things. two things i would be particularly interested in: it tells me for half of the features i should install this companion app, but this app is not available for linux. do i assume correctly these features are only available under mac+win? also, is there any support for the vlc "program guide" feature?
When it works, it works great!
This app works great when I can get it working properly. I have a desktop and a laptop both running windows 11. For some reason, if both computers are online, this app will only see the desktop server. Even if I manually change all the port numbers and make entirely unique settings, the app will erase everything I input and it will just make two instances of the desktop computer. It will change all of the inputs to the desktop as well. I can only get my laptop to work if I shut down the desktop server. As soon as I turn the desktop back on, the issue returns.
Cool
Neat
fraud
unkown apple device has been synced to my apple account with there own registered device causing my device to be locked out and create unsual amounts of activity by apps iam not allowed access to
Absolutely love it
It’s pretty awesome to use and I am able to use it from my iPad as well which has allowed me to control my pc with it from a distance. This makes it so worth the annual price.
Not there yet
Excellent addition to what seemed to be a lost cause after the interface change. Still cannot work my Apple Watch to control the VLC of my iPhone which connect to the Apple TV. Feature that was most useful to me before the update...
VLC review
Great stuff, but it has so many expert features that it simply confuses people with so many options and the version on my fire tv is pretty junky, I have used for many a year, but still feel like a novice sometimes when things don’t go right. Can’t ever connect to my computer and constantly have to retype my login and password
VLC PC Remote
Best one out there. All of the others are so ridiculous that whoever attempted to get it correct should be whipped like black slaves used to. The others that attempted this very very feat got it so wrong i don’t even see how it was oked to be released. Fn stupid.
Unuseable
The free version is so loaded with ads. Every time you touch the app you have to sit through a couple of ads. So I paid to get rid of the ads. But the app is so buggy it still doesn’t work right. I think it’s trying to do too much. It looks like there’s a bunch of features I don’t know what they’re supposed to do and it is not intuitive at all.
Very useful
Not buggy at all and love this app!
Hope you like Ads!
Works ok, but effing ads!
App freeze when press pause or stop button
With the recent updates, the app started to freeze after press pause or stop button. In order to get this app function again, i have to remove it from the app switcher. It getting annoy in someways. Hope the future version will fix this bug.
Great app
Works well, does what I need it to do
Horrible
Don't bother with this. It doesn't work. And the company is impossible to contact for support. I'm am successfully connected to my Mac but the app itself doesn't work. For example pressing "media" only pulls up a mouse (that itself doesn't work) The app won't go to the media list. The various apps hbo, prime, YouTube etc don't launch anything. There is very limited ability to even navigate and like I said earlier all the mouse and such don't do anything.
Good but Apple Watch feature doesn’t work
If you pay for the pro version this app works well from your phone, I recently discovered that there is an app for my Apple Watch as well, however this just fails to connect to my Mac and so doesn’t work.
Ok but very intrusive ads
Works ok but intrusive ads that pop up which the premium version doesn’t seem to remove? Also should use a simple colour scheme (black or white) rather than bright pink which looks cheap. Simple fixes will transform this app.
No longer working
On my new computers, one which is a Lenovo the other which is an M1 Mac I cannot remain connected. Sometime I’ll connect but shortly get the message couldn’t find VLC. VMR connect is running on both computers but the app doesn’t function like it used to, which is a shame because it was definitely a great app when it worked.
Love it
Good good app
BEWARE!!!
This app will get into your computer and jack up your VLC settings to the point that the GUI is inaccessible. I had to delete the app, uninstall VLC and do a fresh install to fix everything this trash broke. After leaving this review I will be reporting the app to Apple because it’s malicious.
Flakey
Needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled daily to get it to connect !!! Worked for 3 weeks but now it’s DOA...paid version ... Update: problem fixed by changing ports to 8080. Update #2. It’s started acting up again, keeps disconnecting. Had to uninstall / reinstall again .
Apple Watch
Ne fonctionne pas sous iOS 12.1 😞😣😟😕🙁☹️😣😖😫😩
Good app with some very infuriating bugs
Good app, but whenever I try to use the bar to rewind or skip to a specific part of a video, the video will just stop playing. Then the app won’t play any video and I have to restart the app AND VLC on my computer to get it to start playing things again.
Handy tool
Works great.
Crashes crashes crashes
I have been using this app for years and now it crashes immediately after opening. Useless.
Very good implementation-1 flaw
Some controls could be more intuitive. Very often when opening through the app it won’t pop in front of all the windows on the screen
Mann Mann Mann
not great not bad
it’s handy but crashes alot. keep it up guys.
Excellent app!
Best media app I have used yet hit a few snags getting it to work but well worth the extra time
scam
requires software download on computer.
Great app
This is a great app, it works as promised. If I had one suggestion it would to add split screen support for the iPad.
Disconnects itself occasionally then computer restart required to
Not that good quite a frustrating app
Nice app, needs sleep function
I find this to be a really useful app. Kills the battery when left idle, so I didn't give it 5stars. Please add sleep function!
Good App
I had an issue with the slider feature on a past update, but a later update ultimately resolved it. Works great with VLC. I highly recommend.
Horrible App
Just stopped working out of nowhere and now it cannot even connect.
Love it, but...
I absolutely love this app there are so many ways I can use it. It helps me be far away from my Mac. Sometimes it’s a bit buggy, and that is OK, however, the most annoying this is the ads. It has a very handy feature that automatically pauses the videos once a phone call comes to my phone.
Deleted after 5 minutes
I hit pause on the film, and the app said “mini-game loading”. No thanks.
Love it
Great app... I just can't open files from external drives, which is where I keep most of my media.
Great app
I saw a recent review bashing this app for wanting money for features. This guy made a super handy app and I don’t blame him for monetizing it.
Does not connect
I have the program to connect on the computer. My phone says that we are ready to connect, but the app cannot find the VLC running on my computer. I think this is a worthless app.
WOL would make the difference
Does the job of controlling VLC running as a service and playing radio streams. Would be perfect if "Connect" also sent a WOL packet... :-)
Unsure
This is a great app........when it stays connected. I love this but 7 out of 10 times that I use it, it keeps losing connection and it's driving me crazy
Works great!
If you use VLC to play movies on your TV, this is the app you're looking for.
Broken
Doesn’t work at all. No connection to my iPhone and makes my iPad crash... iPad app runs until I open the program on my laptop, then crashes iPad. If I run the program on my laptop first and then open the app on ipad, the iPad crashes immediately. Worthless
Does a good job
Easy to setup works like a charm.
Continuous Seek Broken
Tried Using Continuous Seek And VLC Would Not Stop Fast Forwarding, Even After Closing The Program And Disconnecting My Phone :/ Had To Delete VLC and Reinstall For It To Return To Normal :/
